Sakamata Chloe (沙花叉クロヱ) is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber associated with hololive, debuting as part of its sixth generation under the name of "Secret Society holoX" alongside La+ Darknesss, Takane Lui, Hakui Koyori and Kazama Iroha.

An intern who acts as a fixer and cleaner for Secret Society holoX.
Calm and composed at all times, she carries out her orders without so much as batting an eyelid.
She loves music and can be found listening to it every chance she gets. And while she denies it vehemently, she apparently tends to come across as guarded and not very upfront with her thoughts, only letting people get very occasional glimpses into how she really feels.
Personality
Contrary to what her pre-debut artwork might suggested as a "cool and mature" person similar to Mori Calliope and Ouro Kronii, Chloe has a sweet and kind, but somewhat taunt-loving personality, akin to Shirogane Noel, Momosuzu Nene and Tsunomaki Watame. During her debut stream she revealed that she sleeps a lot, often sleeping 12 hours per day.
She is also prone to making mistakes and accidents on-stream. Among her most defining characteristics is that she is perhaps too honest for her own good and cheerfully volunteers unflattering details about her life and personal habits, including (but not limited to) body odor resulting from infrequent bathing, various fetishes including bondage and spanking, and having piles of garbage in her room that sometimes smell like McDonald's.
She has a childish and very soft talking voice that can be described as a mix of those of NIJISANJI members Hoshikawa Sara and Matsukai Mao, but can also produce a mature voice when singing, much like Shirakami Fubuki with her "Kurokami" voice.
Appearance
She has medium length wavy hair with black hair pins and red eyes and wears a mostly black hood with white 'eyes' and red with black and white plaid-patterned hair bows. She has black boots with red laces and platform soles.
History
Background
Sakamata Chloe's YouTube channel was created on 12 September 2021. Her Twitter account was also created in September 2021. She was first revealed as part of holoX, the sixth generation of the Japanese branch of hololive, in an introductory video[4] posted on 26 November 2021 at noon JST. She made her first tweet over five hours later, apologising for oversleeping and asking not to be scolded.[5]
She debuted on 29 November 2021 at 9pm JST, the fourth -holoX- member to debut. During her debut, she took off her eye mask and showed her red eyes to the audience. After her debut, her YouTube and Twitter profile pictures were updated to no longer feature the eye mask. A new version of the holoX PV was released on the official hololive channel after her debut to reflect the mask change.
2021
On 3 December, not even one week after her debut, Chloe reached 500,000 subscribers on YouTube, making her the fastest member of hololive to achieve this milestone, surpassing IRyS's record of one week. She is the 44th hololive member to reach this milestone, as well as the first member of holoX to achieve it.
On 10 December, Chloe reached 600,000 subscribers on YouTube. She also gained the superchat feature on the same day.[6]
On 28 December, hololive's Twitter account announced that Nene and the sixth gen members would get "new year" costumes.[7]
2022
On 1 January, Chloe debuted her second 2D costume, a kimono to celebrate the new year. In this costume she got a new hairstyle, the side locks in the front of her head are more curly, she has a bun on the left side, her bicolor braided hair is now to the left instead of the right, her hair is decorated with flower ornaments in black, red and pink colors and a black ribbon. On her neck she wears a small choker, her furisode is white and black, the sleeves at the bottom have a crashing waves pattern, to the right it has an opening that allows to see the inner cloth which is black, her kimono is decorated with a big obi tied in the front as a ribbon and black and red ornaments like the ones in her hair. As Chloe wears her furisode falling from her shoulders, her cleavage is visible showing that she wears a sarashi, however her clothes also include a black fluffy piece of clothes to better cover herself.[8]
She also opened her YouTube's membership on this date.
On 6 January, Chloe reached 700,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[9][10]
On 13 January, during a stream, Chloe announced she would be taking a short hiatus due to family reasons.[11]
On 22 January, Chloe returned to her activities.[12]
On 26 February, Chloe released her first original song "Jinsei Reset Button Pochii w."
On 26 March, Chloe released her second original song "Kagayakashi."
On 6 April, Chloe reached 800,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during a karaoke endurance stream.[13]
On 30 April, she released her third original song "Hurt you" which was the first original song she composed in English. The Japanese verson would be released for members only.
On 18 May, on her birthday stream, she debuted a variant for her main costume, as she can remove her hoodie, revealing a longer hairstyle. She also revealed her new orca pet "Inu."[14]
On 7 June, Chloe announced that she would get her 3D model.[15]
On 13 June, Chloe debuted her 3D model during a stream with more than 100,000 live viewers.[16]
On 16 July, Chloe said that she would be taking a break from some of her streaming activities to deal with some personal issues.[17] Specifically, her current house is suspected of being haunted, so she is trying to solve it or find a new home.[18]
On 18 August, as part of the "hololive Summer 2022" event, Chloe debuted her 3D swimsuit in a stream held on hololive's official fanclub page in a segment featuring Amane Kanata, Momosuzu Nene and Shiranui Flare. Unlike the original swimsuits from 2019 that had individual designs, these swimsuits are meant to be matching outfits similar to the 3D idol costumes. The swimsuits come in two types one with thin straps for the top and a diagonal cut mini skirt and the other one has ruffled straps in the top and an even mini skirt. Both version are white with various patterns including hololive's and Holoearth's logos, hearts and sparks. The swimsuits are personalized by including different colors to match each talent. Additionally they have the option to wear a hoodie.[19]
On 28 August, continuing the "hololive Summer 2022" event, Chloe debuted her 3D yukata on hololive's Japanese channel.[20] Like other 3D costumes the yukatas have a variety of styles that hololive members can choose from. The yukatas come in various colors and patterns including fireworks, flowers and goldfish.[21]
On 31 August, Chloe reached 900,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
On 7 September, after a month of unscheduled streams, she posted the first schedule marking her official comeback.[22]
On 16 November, during a stream on Koyori's channel, holoX announced that they would get their 3D idol costumes.[23]
On 29 November, Chloe celebrated her first year anniversary. During the stream, she debuted her 3D idol costume.[24]
On 4 December, during holoX first year anniversary, they released their first original song "Jouya Repaint."
On 21 December, during a holoX meeting stream, Chloe, Takane Lui, Hakui Koyori, and Kazama Iroha debuted their 3D christmas costumes.[25]
2023
On 7 January, she released her fourth original song "Marionette."
On 18 February, Chloe reached 1,000,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during a singing endurance stream, making her the 34th hololive member to reach this milestone, and the first member of holoX to do so.[26]
On 18 March, Chloe debuted her second 3D idol costume during hololive 4th fes. "Our Bright Parade" DAY 1.[27]
On 18 May, during her birthday stream, Chloe released her fifth original song "Paralyze."
On 2 July, Chloe debuted her mushroom accessory.[28]
On 30 July, as part of the "hololive Summer 2023" event, during a karaoke relay, Chloe debuted her second 3D swimsuit. The 2023 swimsuits are inspired in a sailor uniform. Members wear a two layered swimsuit, the first layer is blue from the straps going down diagonally to the center where each member has a mostly blue bow but one of the sides and the brooch are in one color representative of each member. The rest of the top is white. The edge has a semi circular cut. The lower piece of the first layer has two variants, one is a two layered blue skirt decorated with a white belt, a golden chain with some decorations hanging from it and a bow to the left and planks to the right. The second version is mostly the same but they wear blue shorts instead of a mini skirt. Chloe uses the mini skirt. The second layer of the outfit is a matching striped bikini in white and another color depending on the member.[29]
On 7 September, Chloe debuted a new 3D idol costume as a member of the "Blue Journey" musical project. She uses a blue beret with a plaid pattern. The costume has a white blouse with detached sleeves, a blue ribbon in the chest decorated with light blue jewel and a blue belt below the chest. The blouse lower edge is asymmetrical and divided in three, the front has planks and it is the longest, then the right side is longer that the left side. She uses a long blue skirt with a plaid pattern and the inner section is light blue. On the back the costume is decorated with a see through ribbon.[30]
During the stream, she also announced that she would get her third 2D costume.
On 9 September, Chloe debuted her third 2D costume. Chloe uses wavy twintails and braids decorated with black bows, ribbons and a hairclip in the shaped of crossed band-aids. She has a black choker with a heart shaped lock complemented with a big black bow. Chloe wears a black and gray blouse which upper portion is tighly adjusted like a bodysuit with a heart shaped cleavage. The dress then has a gray ruffled collar with a black edge decorated with a small red bow. Underneat Chloe wears a corset-like two layered black skirt, decorated with a black crossed belt, keys, an orca badge, and some black bows. Her right leg has a band-aid, medical patch and fishnet. On her left leg she uses black see through pantyhose. Chloe wears a red and black jacket falling from her shoulders that can be removed, she can also hold a cocktail.[31]
On 13 November, as part of the "Hoshimatic Project," she debuted new 3D lesson wear. She uses a white short shirt with black wide lines at the shoulders and lower edge with her name in it and a black top underneat, the shirt is decorated with a small triangle representing the hololive brand and its color is different among the members. The outfit has variants, some members wear black pants while others wear shorts. She uses the pants variant.[32]
On 20 November, holoX debuted their new accessories including headphones and Super Sentai helmets.[33]
On 29 November, Chloe released her sixth original song "Right Left You You Puppy dog eyes Mecho kawaii !"
On 24 December, Chloe along with Okayu, Korone, Noel, Lamy, Ayame, and Koyori debuted their second 3D Christmas costumes during event hololive Xmas AR LIVE "Sweet Happy Holiday".[34] Chloe debuted the costume on her YouTube channel during a karaoke stream on 25 December.[35]
2024
On 1 March, Chloe debuted a new ponytail hairstyle for her third 2D costume.[36]

- On 27 July 2022, Crunchyroll Expo's Twitter announced that Chloe and other hololive members would be appearing in "Crunchyroll Expo 2022," which was held from 5-7 August 2022.[37]
- On 3 October 2022, it was announced that the goods, food, drinks, game, and sauna featuring Chloe, Shishiro Botan, Usada Pekora, and Shirogane Noel would be available at the hololive x RED° TOKYO TOWER collaboration event, which was held from 3-27 November 2022.[38][39]
- On 9 May 2023, VALKYRIE CONNECT's Twitter account announced the second collaboration with hololive, featuring Chloe, Houshou Marine, Nanashi Mumei, and Ouro Kronii.[40]
- On 22 May 2023, CAPCOM announced that Chloe would appear in merchandize that could be won in "Capcom's Net Catcher" in two different artworks, with various prizes available including: keychains, mouse pads, tapestries and cushions. The event would be available from 21:00 26 May to the end of 8 June 2023.[41]
- On 14 November 2023, the gacha game CUBIC STARS announced a collaboration with holoX, featuring the members as characters in different costumes. The event would be available from 22 November until 13 December 2023.[42]
Mascot and fans
- Her fans are known as "shiikuin"「飼育員」, meaning "zookeepers" or "aquarium caretakers."
- Her mascot is a small orca named "Inu" that uses a red and white life jacket with yellow signs that read "Caution."[14]

- "Hoshimatic Project," alongside Hoshimachi Suisei,Tokino Sora, Natsuiro Matsuri, Aki Rosenthal, Oozora Subaru, Tokoyami Towa, Momosuzu Nene, Hakui Koyori and Kazama Iroha. The project was conceived by Suisei as she wished to make activities proper of a big idol group including activities such as pratice routines. The unit was revealed on 6 November 2023 and their first practice stream was on 13 November.[43][44]

Name
- Her surname, Sakamata, is written 「沙花叉」, the kanji for "sa" meaning "sand," "ka" meaning "flower," and "mata" meaning a fork (such as a fork in a road). It is homophonous with the Japanese word for orca, "sakamata" 「逆叉」, with which it also shares its last kanji.
- Her given name is written 「クロヱ」, "kurowe," pronounced "kuroe." It is written using katakana, commonly used to write foreign names. "Kuro" is also the Japanese for the color "black," while "we" is unusually written with an archaic katakana which is no longer commonly used in modern Japanese, although it is still used for stylistic effect (such as in the Japanese title of Rebuild of Evangelion), and in the Ainu language.
Likes and dislikes
- Her favorite singer is Sia, an Australian pop artist known for her solo work and songwriting for other popular Western artists.
- She also enjoys other popular Western pop musicians like Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish. Japanese musicians she likes include Utada Hikaru and the rock groups Yorushika & Zutomayo. A common thread with the Western and Japanese musicians Chloe likes is "secrecy;" Sia is known for outfits intended to obscure her body and for not being the main focus on stage during her own shows, while Yorushika and Zutomayo keep members' identities private.
- She dislikes horror and bugs.
- She dislikes baths to the point she would rather eat once in 3 days than bathe every day.
Miscellaneous
- Chloe is an orca. She wears an orca-themed hood and an orca-themed eye mask, which she usually leaves off after her debut. Strangely enough, she can also blink with her eye mask on. Her overall design is mostly black, white and red themed.
- Orcas are known to prey on sharks and seals, so fans sometimes joke that Chloe would eat Gawr Gura, a shark, and Momosuzu Nene, who is jokingly referred to as a seal.
- Chloe doesn't seem to have a proper orca tail, leading to funny teasing by Gawr Gura for not having one.
- Sakamata Chloe shares her designer with the "animal-eared gothic lolita maiden" design announced for audition back in 20 March 2020, that ultimately went unused.[45][46]
- Chloe's appearance and mannerisms bear similarities to Shirogane Noel's, to the point that some joked that Chloe is secretly Noel's little sister.
- At her debut, she suggested the Twitter hashtag #orcart, a portmanteau of "orca" and "art." However, fans soon discovered it was already full of art of Orcs.
- She learned a bit of English for three months before her debut; she's able to have a basic conversation, but still struggles with pronunciation and grammar.
- She has the messiest handwriting of any hololive member who has shown their handwriting on-stream.
- Chloe wears her mask when she sings using her deep voice.
- Chloe can sleep a lot, up to half a day.
