The ★GxG Vtuber Project★ is a project of Virtual Youtubers who co-exist with an ongoing manga/comic series "Goons x Goblins". It was Originally Known as "The Goons" but changed due to the youtubers Mcnasty, TheDooo, Yumi, and Soup, creating a group / podcast shortly after. To this day, the group calls themselves GxG, but somewhat refers to their members as "The Goons".
Background[]
It's origin dates back to the start of the channel "Stryker & The Goons" Youtube channel back in 2016, which used real people portrayed as anime based avatars shortly into late 2018 - early 2019. Whether or not this pre-dated the first occurrences of the original Virtual Youtubers trend, is unknown. It was formally known as "The Stryker Ops" and later lost its name as the owner of the channel deemed the name to be dated and unappealing and went on to change the name over time to the following:
- The Dawson Crew
- The Famiree
- The Yacht Club
- SDTV
The last time the name had changed is what we deemed to be "the official name" for a long standing group of talented entertainers who weren't taking it too seriously. but as of early 2021, the "Goons and Goblins" logo appears, which later changed to "Goons x Goblins" following inspiration from the X in the popular series "Hunter x Hunter"
The owner of GxG, Stryker Dawson, is a controversial figure in the community, but to this day, still finds a way to create and constantly grow outside of his content. He had zero intention to work with virtual youtubers outside of his manga until he had previously interacted with creators in the community, most notably, Miko Amai. Miko is commonly mistaken as a Co-Founder of the organization, when she's actually the person who sparked the idea.
to this day, GxG is still accepting new members, as well as creating new original virtual youtubers who appear in the manga series, and as Virtual Youtubers. The ongoing series, as of this time, has 4 chapters, and can be found on Globalcomix and Webtoon for free.

Logos and Branding[]
Start of 2021[]
During the start of 2021, The branding for "Stryker & The Goons" first came as a logo depicting the words "Stryker and The Goons: on the quest to destroy cringe". the logo was originally following the format given to chapters in manga, or anime arcs.
Early 2021[]
In the following months, the goons logo tried to evolve and was discontinued afterward. the reason why was stated to be how rudimentary and rough it looked. it was used in a few videos and discontinued, reverting back to the first one. In late 2021, the logo evolved into a Japanese inspired look, almost like a logo seen in an anime opening. This logo appeared in one line of merchandise and was never brought back. Somewhere between the middle of the year and the end, another logo appeared as a parody of the iconic branding seen in the popular anime show, "Boku No Hero Academia" and was shortly retired after a merchandise drop.
End of 2021[]
In the final months of 2021, the original logo that served as the iconic look that most know came into play, it was originally going to be scrapped until the look was told to be well received and praised for its unique look. The only critique given to the logo was by its creator, Stryker Dawson, who despised how no matter how good it looked, it was always "off center, and a pain in the *** to use at times".
Early 2022[]
in early 2022, a logo used in promotions that mimicked the one seen in "The Boys by Amazon" appeared, originally appearing in red, but being used in intros shortly sporting a green & blue look. these colors were to represent the blue on Umi Miho, and the green on Stryker Dawson.
Summer of 2023[]
The most current version of the logo took what was present in the most iconic look, and improved it. you can see in the logo that traits from existing core members of the group are present. The detail seems to be contrary to the modern looks most logos receive, this is due to the oversimplification that the founder of GxG despises in modern logos and brands

Trivia[]
- During the era of the "Yacht Club" name and brand, Stryker and the current crew donned this name due to a risky period of "shenanigans" that took place on a Pixelmon server (a mod made to bring Pokémon into Minecraft) known as "Complex Pixelmon", the peak of these events was when they filled another player's property to the brim with Minecraft boats. It was believed this was due to the player's rude behavior, and resulted in an hour of jailtime within the server for multiple members of their crew. Shortly after, they formed a shop with other players and proceeded to become well known on the server, before it's inevitable wipe.
- According to the founder, the character lore for existing original virtual youtubers, and the characters in it, take place in what's referred to as "The Gooniverse", and according to the owner, certain antics on youtube and on streams inspire its arcs and plot, alongside past events, past drama within the group, and a lot of inside jokes turned into stories to exist for a public audience.
- The Goons have a rival organization built off of members who were around long before Stryker had developed it as a brand, this rival faction refers to themselves as "The Hooligans" and while they aren't outright seen as antagonists, they actively proceed to act as rivals for the current cast of GxG due to their reputation and history with the owner.
- the first existing vtuber that joined GxG as an existing Virtual Youtuber Agency, was Miko Amai.
- despite him being the inspiration for the main character in the manga, the only member who doesn't plan to become a virtual youtuber at this time is: Derek, other wise known as Ninja_Senseii.
- The first chapters of Goons x Goblins have a habit of going between multiple members of various nationalities before publication. due to this, its commonly a game amongst its staff to find the funniest spelling errors within the text before the staff fix it. So far, the most iconic spelling mistake was in Chapter 3, when Stryker stated the word "Golf" rather than "Gold".
- Despite all members opting in to being apart of the manga series at the moment of joining, not all virtual youtubers appearing in the manga are existing members of GxG. The first collaborative appearance that was agreed to appear was the Virtual Youtuber, FrozenSunlite.
- Despite the unusually pristine production value, GxG has (or at least as of this article's creation) made no monetary gain off its members, due to it being one of the very few Virtual Youtuber agencies with a Non-Profit Policy for its freelancers.
