Akatsuki Ban Mai (暁バンマイ) was a female Vietnamese Virtual YouTuber. She is the first VTuber who is associated with Nijigen Project's 1st generation alongside Hibiki Du Ca.

She has short orange hair with yellow hair streaks and light brown eyes. She has two blue hairclips and brown headphones that are cat ear shaped.

Her Twitter account was created in July 2021. Her Youtube channel created on 3 July and Her debut stream was on 7 July.[1]
2021[]
On 11 July, Ban Mai's Channel has Superchat enabled.
On 16 July, Ban Mai reached 20,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. She also announced on the same day that she will get a 3D model at some point in the future.[2]
On 17 July, Ban Mai have first collab with Ringo-senpai, a Vietnamese Japanese style idol from Niji Universe Inc
On 19 August, Ban Mai have collab with Marine, Sakura and Shinamon from Niji Universe Inc to play PUBG Mobile
On 25 August, Ban Mai's Channel have enabled membership.
On 10 October, Ban Mai reached 80,000 subscribers on her Youtube channel.[3]
On 20 October, Ban Mai and Hibiki Du Ca released their collab song "Kurukuru Kazaguruma" (by Niji Universe Inc.). This is her first collab song with another Vtuber.
On 11 November, Ban Mai revealed her new outfit. On the same day, she also reached 90k subscribers on her Youtube channel.[4]
On 19 December, Ban Mai reached 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[5]

Retirement[]
On 2 June, NIJIGEN announced that Ban Mai would graduate at the end of June according to her family's wishes and her personal reasons.[6] The stream was rescheduled to 7 July.[7]
On 7 July, Ban Mai held her graduation stream.[8]

- On 22 January 2022, Ban Mai announced that she and her genmate Hibiki Du Ca would be participating in AniAni Festival on January 27 2022.[9][10]
- On 13 June 2022, NIJIGEN's page on Facebook announced that Ban Mai and many VTubers would be appearing in the TIF Asia Tour 2022 event (TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL), which would be held on 13 June.[11]

Name[]
- Her family name "Akatsuki"「暁」means "dawn, daybreak" in Japanese.
- Her middle and given name "Ban Mai" means "early morning" in Vietnamese.
- "Ban"「バン」is written in Katakana which means "van, bun, value-added network."
- "Mai"「マイ」is written in Katakana, which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji「舞, 麻衣」or「真愛」, it could possibly mean:
- 「舞」means "dance."
- 「麻衣」means "linen robe."
- 「真愛」: the kanji for "Shin"「真」meaning "real, genuine," "Ai"「愛」meaning "love, affection," which literally mean "true love" altogether.
