Personality
Amelia is a highly eccentric girl who is often seen mingling or teasing her fellow holoMyth members. She is usually kind, supportive, and sweet as shown when she frequently watches her fellow members' streams and often willingly helps Gura in Minecraft. She was said to have helped troubleshoot some of the technical problems her genmates were having before and during debut which led to the birth to the meme Amelia Tech Tips which is a parody of the popular YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips. Amelia is also highly supportive towards hololive members and frequently comments in any ongoing streams whenever she gets the time to do so.
However, Amelia can also be quite mischievous and playfully naughty by pulling pranks on her fellow genmates or making statements and jokes that have inconspicuously lewd undertones, such as naming one of her mines in Minecraft "Gura's Backdoor" with an added lenny emoticon " ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) " that is often used mischievously online.
She also harbors another side of her personality that comically emerges that is often dubbed "Gremlin Mode" by her viewers. She can be greedy, prideful, and unsportsmanlike in competitive online games such as, Apex Legends, and Valorant. For these reasons, fans often refer to her as a "True Gamer." Such kinds of behavior has led fans to also calling her a "True Gamer" in the sense that gamers are often considered to be toxic online. Though it is important to note that this doesn't detract from her positive traits but rather makes her streams quite unpredictable and very interesting to watch.
Amelia has a special voice that she uses when she is in Gremlin Mode, which sounds like a cross between a high-pitched wheeze, reptilian screech, and the final breath of a dying squeaky toy. She is not above trolling and calling out her chat if the opportunity arises, such as when she trolled her viewers in one of her Minecraft streams by adjusting her shader's brightness very darkly and innocently claiming that she fixed the shaders for them. Despite these circumstances, she tries her best to moderate her gremlin-like behavior, to varying degrees of success.
Possibly her best-known joke is "ground pounding your mom," which she said once during a Super Mario Odyssey playthrough in a slightly lower-pitched and "gremlin-like" voice and has since become almost synonymous with her character. She frequently makes similar lewd remarks seemingly out of nowhere. It might seem that Amelia has no filter, but that isn't entirely accurate. She does have a filter, but most of the outrageous things that are caught in her filter end up being said out loud regardless.
Overall, her balanced chemistry of sweetness and saltiness makes her very lovable as noted by her fans.
Appearance
Amelia has light-blonde hair falling below her shoulders. Her eyes are blue. She has a beauty mark on her left breast that can be seen when she wears clothes with cleavage such as her third 2D costume or in her 3D swimsuit.
She uses a light brown deerstalker (commonly known as "detective hat") with a checked pattern on the sides, and golden hairpin representing a magnifying glass decorated with some gears. Amelia wears a white blouse complemented with a red tie. She uses a light brown skirt with a checked pattern where she carries a golden pocket watch that allows her to time travel. On her left leg she carries various syringes filled with Amelia's concoction. Her high socks are black and her shoes are dark brown. Amelia also uses a light brown detective coat with a stethoscope.
History
Background
On 23 April 2020, following the success of the Japanese-language hololive VTuber group, Cover Corporation announced auditions for English-speaking members.[8] The initial round of auditions ran until 24 May.[9]
At her audition, Amelia Watson admitted that while she felt she was good at video games and had an entertaining personality, she wasn't particularly skilled at singing or drawing. She took it as a good sign when Cover responded by advising her to begin taking singing lessons right away. She prepared a large number of questions to ask interviewers to show that she was interested. Ame had previously been studying emergency medicine as a backup career.[10]
Ame celebrated passing the audition by tidying her room.[11]
The members of -Myth- began training around June 2020, three months before their debut.[12]
Ame's YouTube channel and Twitter account were created on 16 July.
On 8 September 2020,[TZ] Watson Amelia was first revealed in a short promotional video alongside the other four members of hololive -Myth-. A simultaneous announcement was made at the hololive Twitter account, and the hololive English Twitter account.[13][14] Her first tweet was made on the same day.[15]
Debut
Ame made her debut stream on 12 September 2020.[TZ] She was the fifth and final member of hololive -Myth- to debut. Ame had slept only a few hours in the 36 hours before her stream, having stayed up to watch the previous members' debuts and prepare content for her own. She intended to open with an elaborate lore video describing her origins in the 1920s, but it was not completed on time. Ame began with a British accent before revealing it to be a ruse (a ploy suggested by manager Enma to appease viewers expecting a Sherlock Holmes-esque character to be British). She sang Puru Puru Pururin, an insert song from the anime Welcome to the NHK. She concluded the debut stream with a surreal experience in which she injected the viewer with "Watson Concoction," resulting in bizarre hallucinations.[16][17]
An hour and 35 minutes later,[TZ] Ame's debut was followed by the first hololive -Myth- collaboration stream during which she performed her role as a detective by investigating the other members.
2020
On 25 October, Ame reached 500,000 subscribers on YouTube, making her the 17th hololive member to reach this milestone, as well as the 3rd member of the English branch to do so.[18]
2021
On 11 February, she reached 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers, making her the 9th hololive member to reach that milestone and the 3rd member of the English branch to do so after Gawr Gura and Mori Calliope.[19]
On 1 April, all holoMyth members revealed new chibi models based on popular fan designs by Walfie.[20]
On 30 April, hololive's Twitter account announced that every member of holoMyth would get their second 2D costumes.[21]
On 7 May, Amelia debuted her second 2D costume, in this costume she wears a dark brown beret that has Bubba on top of it, her hairstyle remains mostly the same but now she has a small side ponytail, Ame uses heart shapped earrings, a white blouse with black suspenders and skirt, the suspenders have a holster, the outfit also include a plaid brown coat, with a Bubba and magnifying glass pins and a black bag decorated with a golden mustache. She can also wear glasses with this outfit.[22]
On 5 June, Amelia organized a 9 hour charity stream in an effort to raise money for Best Friends Animal Society, an animal charity organization in the United States. This marked the first ever charity stream within Hololive. During the stream, Amelia played different videogames and sang songs.[23] Initially, the campaign goal was set at $15,000 US dollars, but was reached before the stream started. Ultimately, the campaign raised $235,972.69 US dollars.[24]
On 15 August, Amelia began her new morning news digest show, Ame in The A.M.. Inspired by AsaCoco Live News hosted by Kiryu Coco, Ame in The A.M. features news and stream highlights of hololive members reported by Amelia in a humorous way, as well as fictional commercials featuring Amelia and other hololive members. Initially, Ame in The A.M. are livestreamed irregularly on her channel on Sunday at 8:00 AM PST, but has since changed to a weekly show on Friday morning.[25][26]
On 12 September, during Myth's 1 year anniversary celebration, the group revealed their official logo and announced that every member would get their third 2D costume.[27]
On 31 October, -Myth- debuted their first original song "Myth or Treat" during a Halloween collab with every hololive EN member attending. The song lyrics were written by Calli. The official video of the song was later debuted the same day. This is also Amelia's first original song.[28][29] The same day, she reached the milestone of 1.5 million YouTube subscribers, making her the 7th hololive member to reach this milestone, and the 3rd member of the English branch to do so. "It's just a number. It's not that scary."
On 10 December Amelia debuted her third 2D costume. Amelia got two new hairstyles, in one she uses her hair tied up, in the other Amelia has a very long loose hairstyle both hairstyles are complemented by a silver crown, Amelia wears a black necklace with nine small ornaments, a short black dress with thin braces, below the chest the dress is decorated with a white flower pattern, Amelia has a tatoo on her left forearm that means she is part of an elite society, she also holds a bag in her left hand and she has a knive in a sheath in her left leg. The black dress is complemented by a transparent larger dress that is tied on her wrists. Adittionally Amelia can wear black shades and her well known mustache. This costume cleavage also revealed that Amelia has a mole on her left breast.[30]
On 12 December, Ame reached 1 million Twitter followers.
2022
On 6 January, during her birthday celebration stream, Amelia revealed that she can combine the hairstyles that she debuted with her black dress outfit, with her casual clothes.[31]
Also on this day hololive's Twitter account announced that both Myth and Council members would get new year costumes.[32]
On 9 January, Amelia debuted her fourth 2D costume, a kimono to celebrate the new year. In this costume Amelia got two new hairstyles in the first one she uses her classic short hair haircut however she has some disheveled locks at each side, in the second haircut she uses long twintails decorated with orange ribbons. Her kimono is blue in the upper section with both gold fishes and flowers patterns, her kimono's skirt is long and goes from yellow to orange in color, to the left there is a flower pattern, the obi match these colors. Ame can also "wear" a gold fish in a plastic bag on top of her head, she claims that the fish is in reality a robot and that the fish would be fine.[33]
The same day, holoMyth debuted their second original song, "Journey Like a Thousand Years."
On 25 February, Ame streamed a surprise karaoke off-collab with Ninomae Ina'nis, Ouro Kronii, Ceres Fauna and Nanashi Mumei. The event began with the archived stream 【KARAOKE】DONT GO TO SLEEP YET, during which Ina made a surprise appearance, followed by the three members of Council. It was followed fifteen minutes later by the unarchived stream 【KARAOKE】Off COLLAB(Fauna, Mumei, Ina, Kronii) IKZ, which received just over 40,000 viewers at peak. This event was the third hololive English off-collab after Calli's collab with Kiara, and Calli's collab with IRyS, as well as the first off-collab outside Japan. Ame ended the stream by promising bright things in future.
On 19 March, Amelia debuted her 3D model during "hololive 3rd fes. Link Your Wish" day 1.[34] A Smol Ame mascot also appeared at the event.
From 14 to 25 March, Ame took a brief hiatus from streaming, which she explained as necessary to set up her new office.
On 2 April, she debuted on Twitch on the account watsonamelia_hololiveen. She announced her goal to reach 100k followers, stream at least 5 times per year on Twitch, and reach the maximum number of emote slots.
On 28 June, on her channel, -Myth- held their first off collab, where every member was present.[35]
2023
On 17 January, Amelia released her first original song "ChikuTaku" with a music video teasing her upcoming official rhythm game. She then released the game (also titled ChikuTaku), on itch.io on 23 January.
On 3 March, Amelia officially debuted her 3D model on her YouTube channel.[36]
On 18 March, Amelia debuted her 3D idol costume during hololive 4th fes. "Our Bright Parade" DAY 1.[37]
On 22 June, Amelia debuted new accessories for her new year costume. Her kimono received a new color variant using a light brown with a plaid pattern, clearly inspired by her main outfit. Her obi and skirt are brown. Amelia also debuted new accessories: a small hairpin for the short haircut and glasses. The new colors can be combined with the originals.[38]
On 1 July, as part of the "hololive Summer 2023" event, Amelia debuted her 3D yukata. These are the same designs that Japanese members debuted the previous year.[39]
On 2 July, she participated in "hololive English 1st Concert Connect the World."[40]
On 1 August, as part of the "hololive Summer 2023" event, during a karaoke stream, Amelia debuted her 3D swimsuit. The 2023 swimsuits are inspired in a sailor uniform. Members wear a two layered swimsuit, the first layer is blue from the straps going down diagonally to the center where each member has a mostly blue bow but one of the sides and the brooch are in one color representative of each member. The rest of the top is white. The edge has a semi circular cut. The lower piece of the first layer has two variants, one is a two layered blue skirt decorated with a white belt, a golden chain with some decorations hanging from it and a bow to the left and planks to the right. The second version is mostly the same but they wear blue shorts instead of a mini skirt. The second layer of the outfit is a matching striped bikini in white and another color depending on the member.[41]
On 5 September, Amelia debuted her fifth 2D costume. Her hair is styled with buns, the right one is decorated with a brown checked pattern bow. Ame wears a yellow spacesuit with a see through helmet decorated with a black bow on the top and decorated with parallel lines and various patches. Amelia uses black and white gloves and boots. Amelia can remove her helmet and partially unzip her spacesuit revealing sleeveless black underarmor. She can move her right hand in a thinking posture. She can carry her mascot Bubba on her right shoulder, who can also wear a helmet. Amelia claims that despite being intented as a spacesuit, she also see it as a mechanic's outfit.[42]
2024
On 6 January, during her birthday celebration, Amelia debuted a new 3D costume. She wears a cowboy outfit. Amelia uses a brown hat. She wears a white blouse with cleavage. Instead of her red tie, she uses a red handkerchief. She has a light brown coat with a dark brown shawl and a crossed bullet belt. Amelia is wearing her standard skirt and socks. She has can hold a shotgun.[43]

- On 12 March 2021, as part of their six months celebration the holoMyth members announced that they would get an official BGM image soundtrack featuring Camellia, with a release date of 14 March. The song inspired by Amelia is titled "Misteavous Myth-buster."[44]
- On 23 June 2021, hololive's Japanese Twitter account announced that every holoMyth member would appear in "Anime Expo Lite 2021."[45]

Mascots & Fans
- Her mascot is Bubba, a dog. Bubba is based on her real life pet dog who can occasionally be heard during her livestreams.
- Like the rest of the holoMyth mascots with the exception of Bloop, Bubba was designed by Ninomae Ina'nis.[54]
- Her fanbase is officially called "Teamates."[55][56] It is a pun on "tea," a popular British drink and one listed in her debut stream among her favorite things. However, Amelia prefers iced tea, more common in the United States than Britain, and in the first collab stream she instead said that her favorite drink was water.

Name
- In Japanese, her name is written 「ワトソン・アメリア」, "Watoson Ameria."[1] This is direct transliteration of her name in katakana, the syllabary normally used in Japanese to write foreign words and names. It is written in Japanese name order, with surname first; in English, it would normally be written "Amelia Watson."
- When speaking in English, Ame usually gives her name in the English order, as does Calliope Mori. The other three holomyth members (Gawr Gura, Ninomae Ina'nis, and Takanashi Kiara) put the surname first even when speaking English.
- She shares a name with Dr. John H. Watson, the assistant of fictional British investigator Sherlock Holmes. Amelia is also seen with a doctor's stethoscope and syringes; in the original stories, Dr. Watson is a medical doctor who provides medical care for Holmes, among them the provision of various drugs.
- She also shares the name of Dr. John H. Watson's second wife Amelia Watson, coined by Michael Mallory in the mystery novel The Adventures of the Second Mrs. Watson, based on the unnamed second wife of Watson in the Adventures of the Blanched soldier.

Time travel
- Ame is a time traveler. Her pocket watch gives her the ability to travel through time. Her ability was not revealed until 16 September 2020, during her first Fall Guys stream.[66]
- Ame was born circa early 1920s, but transported through time after an encounter with a Lovecraftian entity in a graveyard on a stormy night.[67]
- Ame's watch contains a time crystal. The exact technology is secret.[68]
- A tweet by Amelia implies that her time traveling device is borrowed and she has overstayed her welcome.[69]

- Countless other alternate Ames exist.[104] Most claim to be the original Ame.[89] It seems likely that they all have tummy problems.[95]
- In 2022, Ame ranked the alternate Ames in a tier list.[105]
- Ames vary in size and shape. These differences can be caused by changes in the refraction of light, slight changes of the axis of the Earth.[106]
- Each timeline varies slightly, with theoretically infinite possibilities.[107] Variations in timelines are caused by the cumulative effect of minor differences in seemingly unimportant everyday decisions.[108] There are speculated to be as many as 1,500,000 numbered timelines, each with their own Ame. However, our Ame has not met Ame #1500000.[109]
- There are a handful of male Ames, but they are very rare.[110]
- Most Ames have a Bubba. They are all different types of dog, however. For example, all the Ames from around #435000 to #573000 have French bulldog Bubbas.
- There has been a conflict between Ames, known as the Ame War. Ame described it as "like for fun, you know, it's not that serious."[111] The outcome of the Ame Wars is kind of a touchy subject.[112]
- An Epic Ame War took place between Ouro Kronii and numerous Ames, which caused time to get messed up. Ame likened it to a fight beween one bear-sized duck and fifty duck-sized bears.[111]
- There is a city called Wattropolis inhabited entirely by Ames. It is protected by a shimmering dome, and is invisible to non-Ames (although Hakos Baelz somehow made it through). A convention is held known as the Bi-Annual Wattropolis Ame Get-Together, which our Ame first visited in October 2021. It has a subway and many parks, and is divided into a number of boroughs. Travel there is made via a Watplane piloted and co-piloted by an Ame. Wattropolis can itself be thought of as an Ame, and the city's smoke is her farts.[95]
- Wattropolis sits in between timelines and can only be accessed by using Ame's time travel watch.[113]
- Wattropolis has some haunted places. Many buildings were built in the 1800s. There is speculated to be a ghost Ame.
- A lot of places are named for Ame. These include Wat-tenth street, multiple Ame bridges, and an Ame of Liberty statue.
- Some Ames drive a single-wheel motorcycle or off-road four-wheel dirt bikes.[95]
- The conversion rate from the Ame Dollar to USD is 1.19.[114]
- An Ame Committee handles legal matters in Wattropolis, including issuing of passports, timeports, and weapons from the Ame Armory.[115]
- All Ames keep a diary which serves as a sort of black box to keep other Ames informed, in case an Ame suffers an accident. Occasionally, a stray Ame diary is found.[116]
- Ames often support each other. If an Ame loses her watch, another Ame will appear and help her find her watch.[117]
- Amelia Bowson (from Ame's Elder Scrolls: Oblivion playthrough) and Watoto (from the holoMyth TTRPG) are sometimes considered alternate Ames by fans. However, Ame does not count them, as they are not real.[118]
- Different Ames wear different colored underwear.[119]
Smol Ame
- There is a smaller version of Ame, known as Smol Ame (or Small Ame).
- Smol Ame was introduced on 1 April 2021. As an April Fools prank, the five members of hololive Myth held a collab to reveal new models which turned out to be based on popular chibi designs by fan Walfie. Amelia originally claimed to have just given birth to her chibi version, but this was revealed during the subsequent superchat reading stream to have been an April Fools prank. At 1 hour 5 minutes in that stream, presented using the new model, she said, "That's right, I'm Amelia H. Watson... smol version. Smol Ame."[120]
- In August 2021, Smol Ame held her first collab with regular Ame, Smol Ame Visits the Office. She refers to our Ame as Big Ame. A summary of this meeting appeared as A Special Collab with Small Ame!
- Smol Ame is from an alternate timeline, sometimes called the Smol Ame Timeline, where everyone is Smol.[121][122]
- Smol Ame cannot survive for long in our timeline due to radiation, and because Big Ame would charge her rent. She enjoys watching Tiktoks, but her phone doesn't work in our timeline. Unlike our Ame, Smol Ame has no gluten intolerance.
- Smol Ame lives in a trailer.[123]
- There exists a Smol Timeline Lobby, first appearing in the holoMyth first anniversary collab. It features portals to other Smol timelines, a "United We Small" manifesto (written in Smol Ame code), and a memorial to the Ame Wars.
- Smol Ames are unpredictable and unreliable. For example, if you hired Smol Ames to help you move, they might pocket some things, and demand a big tip.[124]
- A fan-made video game was produced called Smol Ame.
- Smol Ame featured in Kanauru's Welcome to the Ameverse, a fan video produced for Ame's birthday. According to this, Ame #70 is Smol Ame, #883 is Bee Ame, and #1031 is Hallowee'en pumpkin Ame. The sleeping Ame at the bus stop has no number. Ames #106, #520, #2017, #2022 (drawn by JenMa), #6969 (drawn by EnMa), and #647362 also appear in this video.
- Smol Ame appeared in person as a mascot character in the March 2022 hololive Super Expo as well for the July 2022 Crunchyroll Expo. This Smol Ame was approximately the height of a regular Ame.
- There is a Buff Smol Ame, also called Buffson. She has the head of a Smol Ame, but a buff body.
- Buffson's strength is so great that she was able to perform the dangerous task of tearing a hole in reality which allowed Smol Ame to visit Japan.[75]
- During 【VR Cooking】Chef Buffson in the Kitchen, Buffson appeared to be hiding a tiny Smol Ame underneath her hat.[125] This suggests that the tiny Smol Ame may in fact be controlling Buff Ame.
- There are Smol members of the other hololive Myth members. According to Smol Adventures: Link Your Wish!, all five are spacefaring idols. This video also reveals that the Smol Timeline Lobby is located aboard their ship, known as the Sunfish.
- The Sunfish appears to have Amelia's goldfish (from her new year costume) as a navigator. This may be a reference to the 1988 anime OVA Gunbuster, where the ship is navigated by dolphins.
Miscellaneous lore
- Ame is the creator of Watson's Concoction, a powerful substance which can cause hallucinations. Ame is constantly trying to perfect it. However, it can cause various side-effects.[122]
- Kiryu Coco produced a similar substance known as Asacoco. Before Coco retired, she entrusted Ame with the Asacoco recipe.
- Kiara gifted Ame a spaceship, called the Wat-shuttle. However, she clarified in 【STREAM】TadAiMEma! (21 Oct 2021) that these are more like just the blueprints to a ship, and she doesn't have the technology to build it.[95]
- Ame previously interned at the Ame Security Corporation, which watches over other Ames. She acquired her CRT TVs from this corporation, which allow her to watch over other Ames, just in case an evil Ame is planning something.[126]
- You can't apply to be an Ame. You're just born one.[126]
- Ame has also coined the terms Ametaverse as well as NFATs (Non-Fun-Gulllible Ame Tokens). These terms were invented to poke fun of the trend of the Metaverse and Non-Fungible Tokens respectively. NFATs are, contrary to most NFTs, absolutely free to share and are exclusive to their respective owners.[127]
- Ame has a habit of taking a holiday right around the time that new hololive generations make their debut. This leads viewers to believe that she takes breaks to recruit new members for Yagoo.
Likes and dislikes
- She likes roller coasters, sleeping, clear noodles, the color green (because it's the color of trees, plants, and money), iced tea, and dogs.
- She has four pets: a hunting terrier named "Bubba," whose barks can occasionally be heard on her streams; another hunting terrier named "Mikki/Nikki" (she says she calls her both); a British Shorthair cat named "Wellington," and a kitten named "Henry," who has disrupted her from playing videogames on several occasions. She also has a 5-gallon salt water tank, as well as a 8-gallon fresh water tank currently under construction.
- Her favorite cake is "yellow-flavored" with chocolate frosting.[128]
- Amelia likes video games from a variety of genres:
- FPS: Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant and Apex Legends
- Open World: Fallout, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Grand Theft Auto V.
- Puzzle: Portal and Inside. In 2022 she added Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn to that list.
- Rhythm: Rhythm Heaven Fever, osu!, Beat Saber, and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA.
- Ame's favorite game is space exploration title Outer Wilds. She first played it on stream after accidentally securing permissions to stream it instead of Fallout-style RPG The Outer Worlds.
- The videogame she doesn't like to play the most is Terraria, even outside streams.
- Amelia's favorite anime include Mob Psycho 100, Inuyasha, Golden Kamuy, Deca-Dence, Girls' Last Tour, and Made in Abyss. In 2022 she added to that list Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Asobi Asobase, and was watching Thermae Romae and The Orbital Children.
- Her favorite manga are The Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul, Kawazu-san no Isekai, Usotoki Rhetoric, Detective Conan, and Oogami-san Dadamore Desu.
- On occasion, Amelia will display her love of marine biology by talking about her knowledge of aquatic life, including random obscure trivia and methods to care for them.
- She dislikes dirty monitor juice, loud/high-pitch noises, going outside, wearing clothes to sleep, onions, and peppers. Later Amelia also revealed that she doesn't like soda, as it hurts her throat.
- Her goals are reaching 100,000 subscribers (an achievement that she made during her debut stream), investigate more hololive members, improve her Japanese, debut a 3D model, and make a game based on hololive.[129]
- Ame hated the Bee Movie. "I only cringed once during the Bee Movie, and it was the whole time, from beginning to end."[130]
Childhood stories
Ame frequently tells stories about her childhood. She had at least 19 injuries:[131]
- She received an injury in her childhood when she and her brother were jumping on a bed and Amelia fell off, hitting her head on the corner of a drawer. She needed to have her head stitched up. She claims to still have a "head hole" that she can feel air go through when she breathes.[132]
- In another instance, while very young, Ame tripped on a wet floor while eating ice cream, and bit off her tongue almost completely. It was still hanging on by a thread, but the doctors were unable to stitch it back together because tongues do not work that way. It eventually healed, but she still has a scar.[132]
- Ame's brother once threw a soccer ball at her face, knocking out three of her teeth. "Yeah, they were baby teeth. It was really bloody though. That's how siblings are."[133][132]
- Ame once cut the top off her thumb when trying to peel an orange with a knife.[132]
- A tire ran over her ankle, but it didn't break.[132]
- Someone kicked the trainer wheels of her bike, and she fell and scraped her knee.[132]
- She got bitten by dogs a lot. On one occasion she was bitten in the face, and when they tried to give her a rabies shot at the hospital, she tried to bite the nurse and ended up not receiving the shot.[132]
- In another instance, she was bitten on the arm by a dog.[134]
- She was also bitten badly by a cat.[134]
- She once tried to pet a cactus. "I thought it would be soft, but then I had a bunch of pricklies in my hand."[132]
- When she was around four, she was swinging between two chairs at Christmas and broke her arm. She didn't tell anyone and nobody noticed.[135]
- Ame once fell at Disneyworld and smashed her face into the ground.[135] Her brother swung on a rope, so she tried too and fell onto concrete, and her teeth went through her bottom lip and she had to get taken away by medics in a limousine.
- A piece of ice from a cup of beer once flew and cut her eyelid.
- She was once left inside a car hot enough to melt crayons.
- Her arm was crushed by a big dude in a mosh pit.
- She got permanent ear damage from being near speakers in concerts.
- She has a rope burn scar on her leg when a dog leash was wrapped around her leg, and the very large dog started running.[134]
- She dislocated her big toe after falling from her brother's chin-up bar. She never went to the doctor so it's kind of crooked.[136]
- She was a weak baby, and spent time in intensive care. She was given medication which could have serious side-effects, but managed to avoid hearing loss.[137]
Ame has also told childhood stories that don't involve her receiving injuries:
- As a kid, she liked to eat sand. "I liked the texture."[132]
- She once literally drank her friend's tears.[132]
- Her sibling would step on her tummy and make her burp.
- Her grandma had a hole in her ear because her earring got stuck in a vacuum.[132]
- When her grandma was younger she liked to mess around with other women's husbands, with the result that someone cursed her family line. However, this also caused Ame to be exceptionally lucky.[132] Ame describes luck as her highest stat.
- She once almost got kidnapped by private investigators looking for another girl who happened to have the same first name.[132]
- Her mother was once kidnapped in Morocco and held hostage for $300.[132]
- Another kid was being pushed on a shopping cart, and his pinky got stuck underneath the wheel and came off.[132]
- She used to eat frozen waffles.[132]
- She used to read Team Fortress 2 gay fanfiction of Sniper x Spy.[132]
- Once, Ame was unfairly blamed for stealing money from a neighbor. The real culprit was her brother, who used the money to buy Ame a Nintendo DS.
- Once, her brother tried microwaving a plastic toy leg to see if he could make it bend. The house caught fire, and Ame nearly died because she was hiding in a closet.
- Once at school, she bought pizza at lunch for $1, but had to go to the bathroom and asked her friend to hold it. Her friend dropped it cheese side down, but Ame ate it anyway because it was a good deal.[138]
- Once, she had a birthday party which she invited her whole class to and had her mother order a variety of food, presents, and decorations, but only her best friend showed up.
- Around age 7 or 8 she ran away from home, but accidentally swallowed a moth and went back home. It was creamy.[139]
- Ame once cut her own hair and put it in a big salad bowl to make "hair soup," which she gave to her mother.[59]
- Ame won't eat mustard because her brother told her it was the juice from garbage bags.[140]
- Ame used to fill her pencil case with dirt and keep beetles in it.[141]
- She once saw a drawer open by itself.[142]
- She used to eat pizza dipped in Coca Cola.[143]
- She once walked across a frozen lake with a bin full of snacks.[144]
Miscellaneous
- She frequently hiccups during streams. This is caused by swallowing a lot of air, causing what are technically burps, which she makes sound like hiccups because burps are gross. Ame has stream emotes which spell "HIC" for this purpose.
- Her birthday, 6 January is supposedly the birthday of Sherlock Holmes. This speculative date was popularized by Sherlock enthusiast Christopher Morley.
- She is the second hololive EN member and eighth hololive member overall to join the official Hololive Subreddit as a moderator.
- Prior to her debut, there was much speculation as to whether Amelia would have a British or American accent. In her debut stream, Amelia began using a British accent, but quickly revealed that it was a cover identity for use in investigations. She primarily uses an American accent.[145]
- Amelia has an older brother, who would stay at her house when she is away on a trip.[146] He is also into MMA and has taught and trained Amelia some skills.[147]
- She also has a little brother, who mostly plays ROBLOX and Minecraft with a computer she built for him using old parts along with paint. When she got him Fortnite cards and money for Christmas, he spent the money on more Fortnite cards.
- She can play the ukelele.
- In her debut stream, Amelia gave her height as 150cm, or 4'9" "in freedom units," or 8.427 bananas. However, 150cm is actually equivalent to 4'11". According to the website Banana Length Convertor, which takes the length of a banana as 7 inches, 8.427 bananas is indeed equal to 150 cm.
- Ame's profile on the hololive website incorrectly listed her height as 160cm. Ame joked at her one-year anniversary stream that she had changed so much in the past year that she had grown 10cm.
- Ame invented a cocktail known as the Amenade, consisting of blueberry ramune, Malibu coconut rum, and lemonade. She invented it by accident on New Years 2021 when she added too much rum to chilled ramune which had gone flat, which she previously had in a Japanese snack taste testing event with Ina. Ame had to dilute the mix with lemonade, resulting in a delicious drink where Ame couldn't taste the alcohol. A commenter noted, referencing Pop on Rocks: "Take it slowly, this drink is dangerous."[148] Other VTubers to invent a cocktail include Nyatasha Nyanners, who invented the Vodka Poggers.
- Amelia is allergic to gluten. Ingesting gluten causes a rash.[149]
- She is the first VTuber with a butt scratch animation on her character model.[150]
- Ame drew the original concept art for the designs of the VRChat models used by holoCouncil and IRyS.
- In November 2021, Ame revealed that she had a new manager of her own, nicknamed HenMa.[151]
- Ame is known for her initiative and innovation. Examples include:
- When hololive English's official 3D debut and off-collabs were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ame held her own 3D streams using consumer 3D gear and a 3D model. She subsequently commissioned matching models for hololive -Myth- members and arranged a VR collab. Next, she designed and commissioned models for IRyS and the five members of hololive Council.
- Ame once held a collab with herself by using her Live2D model and 3D Smol Ame at the same time.
- She briefly ran a morning talk show called Ame in the A.M.
- Ame organized the first hololive English offline collaboration to take place outside of Japan.
- Ame commissioned the Myth or Treat music video.
- Ame wrote the script for the Smol Adventures: Link Your Wish! video and provided sound design.
- Ame viewers popularized the catchphrase "Ame doko?"—Japanese for "Where is Ame?" The phrase is often used when the stream is late, the stream is starting, or Ame is off screen. Variants of the phrase have since spread to other members.
- Ame often uses interesting stream interlude graphics which feature clever references:
- Crocodiles often appear in Ame's stream, sometimes dressed as Ame. They reference Ame's channel members who are known as Investigators, "gators" for short.
- Yellow pudding often appears as a motif in Ame art. This references the Puru Puru Pururin opening theme, which Ame sang at her debut—"purin" in Japanese means "pudding," particularly the yellow sort. Puru Puru Pururin is itself an imaginary anime appearing within the actual anime Welcome to the N.H.K..
- One stream graphic depicts Ame as a turtle on her back. This references Tsukumo Sana's suggestion that it would be cute to push over the Big Smol Ame mascot who appeared at hololive 3rd fes and and watch it flail like a turtle on its back.
- Another depicts Ame stamping her feet in a puddle with an umbrella. This references a scene from the anime Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, in which Kobayashi Kanna similarly stamps her feet in the rain while saying "Ame ame ame." Ame is Japanese for "rain."
- Takanashi Kiara says that if she had not been a hololive member, Ame would have been her EN oshi.
