Axel Syrios (アクセル・シリオス) is a male English-language Virtual YouTuber endorsed by hololive's branch HOLOSTARS English. He is one of the four founding members of "TEMPUS" debuting in July 2022 alongside Regis Altare, Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper.

Profile

The chief of human resources in Adventurer’s Guild TEMPUS. He is the owner of the combat arena, and a gladiator himself. He joined Tempus on a whim, only to take a real liking to it. Has always swiftly resolved any problems he has faced by sheer instinct, and thus considers himself somewhat of a doctor. “Doctors resolve the root cause of a problem, right?Well, I destroy it. So I am a doctor.”

Personality

Axel is a confident, cheeky, and at times dense gladiator. His genmates in TEMPUS often mock his blockheadedness which matches him having the lowest intelligence stat. However, despite this, Axel can provide great advice and commentary when needed as shown in his visual novel streams such as YTTD. He's confident in his abilities yet humble at the same time, always thanking his fans for their support. He can be quite mischievous, calling his pranks a 'heehee haha' moment.

Appearance

He has slicked back blonde hair with red streaks and a single side braid wrapped in red and light blue eyes and has a fluffy black and orange tail. He has a black jacket with orange accents and black shoes with a blue outline above the soles and white laces.

History

Background

The existence of HOLOSTARS English -TEMPUS- was first teased by hololive's Japanese Twitter account on 14 July 2022, with the launch of the TEMPUS website.

On 16 July, Omegaα returned to their Twitter account after months of inactivity posting a two pages manga related to TEMPUS lore.

On 17 July 2022, hololive English Twitter account revealed various details regarding TEMPUS including their social media accounts and debut dates. Axel made his first tweet on this date and a small teaser video was uploaded on his YouTube channel. His YouTube channel was created on 13 June 2022.

On 23 July 2022, Axel debuted on YouTube.

2022

On 24 July, after the debut of all TEMPUS members, a video was posted on the HOLOSTARS English main channel announcing the first original song for them, making them the first hololive Production branch and unit to receive an original song after their debut.

On 26 July, Axel reached 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.

On 6 August, Axel's channel was open for monetization.

On 11 September, all TEMPUS members' channels have opened their membership feature.

On 29 October, Axel released his first multibranch cover project of Bad ∞ End ∞ Night featuring him and hololive Indonesia members Kureiji Ollie, Anya Melfissa and Pavolia Reine; hololive English members Mori Calliope, Ninomae Ina'nis, Ouro Kronii; and HOLOSTARS English members Regis Altare and Noir Vesper. The cover was teased multiple times on twitter, featuring images of the shadowed silhouettes of each of the members featured on the cover along with their oshi marks.

2023

On 3 April, his YouTube channel hit 200,000 subscribers.

2024

On 17 January, Axel's costume got a new update that allowed him to take off his jacket. His face can become gloomy or blush, and he wears earrings on his right ear.

On 3 February, Axel debuted his main 3D model.

On 22 March, he debuted his second costume.

On 13 June, he debuted a black glasses and a microphone for his second costume.

2025

On 2 May, Axel debuted his third 2D costume.

• On 21 March 2023, MomoCon's Twitter account announced that Axel, Regis, Josuiji Shinri and other members of -Council- would be appearing at "MomoCon 2023," which would be held from 25-28 May 2023.
• From 18 July - 29 July 2023, Axel was invited to join the first "Vaultroom x Crazy Raccoon" (VCR) GTA event server, where he joined as a gangster and became a founding member of the "La Familia" gang led by rpr.
• On 15 March 2025, Axel participated to a charity tournament on League of Legends involving 25 participating VTubers, hosted by Mia Melonya. Axel played in Team E alongside Sade, IPN, Mia Melonya, and Josuiji Shinri.

Name

• During a super chat reading stream, he revealed that "Axel" is actually his last name. However he said that Axel can be both his last or given name depending on the order, Japanese or Western. He has mentioned that he simply prefers using Axel as first name.
• According to one of Regis Altare's Minecraft streams, Syrios is named for the star Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky and part of a group called the Winter Triangle. Sirius is known as the Dog Star, which is reflected in his design.
  • His gen-mates Altare, Dezmond and Vesper are named for the stars Altair, Deneb and Vega, respectively, known collectively as the Summer Triangle.
  • With the addition of four new TEMPUS members in 2023, two members appear to be named for the remaining two stars in the Winter Triangle: Gavis Bettel, after Betelgeuse; and Machina X Flayon, after Procyon.

Miscellaneous

• Axel has been considered HOLOSTARS' "Winning Son" (specifically that of the english side, as Roberu already is known to take this title for the japanese branch). This is due to Axel's sheer "protagonist luck" which he has demonstrated multiple times in streams and various other successes.
  • In a collab stream of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, he had managed multiple times to solve the modules to defuse the bomb correctly on his own by sheer luck. Another example is him oversleeping a Tempus group collab that was organized as a game show, but having Ouro Kronii impersonate and win as him, rendering him the winner of a game show he had never participated in.
• Axel talked about having a stalker in his Twitch APEX stream collab with rpr and Vesper. It's revealed that he was popular with girls, but he himself denies it much to Vesper and RPR's chagrin.
• He's a fan of visual kei and jirai kei.
• He started playing basketball when he was younger because of a girl.
• He doesn't like to drink alone unless he's feeling really down.
• He'd like to try being a seiyuu one day.
