For the following reasons, it can be hard to draw the line between Virtual YouTubers produced independently and Virtual YouTubers produced by corporate.

• The Virtual YouTuber may mention that they collaborate in a group, but it is unclear what resources and responsibilities the Virtual YouTuber has for being a member of the group.
• It can be unclear if the commercial entity that the Virtual YouTuber assigns copyright to officially provides the Virtual YouTuber with a director.
• Having a mailing address that points to a company does not necessarily imply the said company expect the Virtual YouTuber to make them money.
