Clio Aite (クリオ•アイテ) is an Irish Australian female VTuber. Clio is a former medievalist history professor who loves playing grand strategy games such as Europa Universalis IV, Total War: Warhammer III and many different kinds of games. She is very proud of her hagdom. Commonly known for her mental endurance, she tends streams almost 8 to 12 hours daily.

She is associated most closely with her fellow Australians Jean Faymas, Mako Fukasame, and Hanya in the Australian VTuber Collective, Vershion. In 2025, Clio became a member of Phase-Connect, debuting as part of Invaders QUEST alongside Mari Mari and Eepy Sleepy.

Personality

Clio can be described as laid-back and passionate when streaming. She began streaming on Twitch with the intention of it starting out as a hobby. She now streams on a day to day basis. In the beginning she was somewhat shy though she has never held back from speaking her mind. Today she freely banters and hangs out with her viewers.

Some people tend to mistake Clio as a mean hearted person when in fact she is quite sweet and pleasant and thoughtful of other people.

Clio was an IRL history professor specializing as a medievalist. She is always eager to share and talk about history from the medieval period. She has done multiple lecture streams on various historical topics as well as once teaching Latin on stream. She has authored multiple research journals.

She previously lived and grew up in the UK, though she was born into a Catholic Irish family. Growing up she would occasionally moved back and forth in the UK. She now currently resides in Australia having been a resident for the past 15 years.

Clio remains cool, calm and collected during matters when it’s necessary. She has always made a point of letting everyone be freely to speak their minds and to not take topics too seriously, allowing viewers to express themselves freely within moderation.

On most days that she does not have anything set or scheduled, she lets the stream take her wherever it leads. During the day she decides what to do on the spot and occasionally letting viewers suggest games. You will usually find her playing what can easily be said to be her favorite game: Europa Universalis IV, a game she is eager to get everyone into. She has invited a number of other VTubers to play the game with her in order to get them into the genre as well as to teach them how to play.

She used to wrestle when she was younger and is a big fan of professional wrestling. She was forced to retire due to a serious injury to the head. She continues to be an avid wrestling fan furthermore occasionally keeping up with different wrestling promotions.

She is said to be somewhat easily misunderstood, with some of her viewers in the past mistaking her straightforward remarks and comments as her being mad or angry at them. Now most know that she never means to offend and usually only does this as a response to a snarky or playful comment made by one of her viewers.

Clio is a self-admitted parasocial streamer saying that she has grown quite attached to her community and their company. While said as a joke she has shared that she has gotten considerably happier compared to before she started streaming.

Appearance

Clio has pale skin, short, wavy and fluffy blonde hair, hazel brown eyes with a vertical scar over her right one, and slight freckles on her cheeks. She wears a dark red beanie with a laurel wreath design on its trim. She wears an olive green sweater with a brown overcoat with fleur-de-lis branded buttons, blue skinny denim jeans and sneakers branded with the Lion of Saint Mark to represent Venice.

She also wears black oval-shaped glasses and a gold necklace of the Vergina Sun along with silver earrings on both ears. She has a golden pocket watch hanging out of her overcoat's left waist pocket.

She carries a book titled "υισθοφόροι: ἐν δορὶ μέν μοι μᾶζα μεμαγμένη" by Κλειώ Αίτη which translates to "Mercenaries: On My Spear’s My Daily Bread" by Clio Aite.

History

Background

Clio had her first stream on Twitch on 19 August 2022.

2022

On 5 October, she reached 1,000 followers.

2023

On January 4, Clio Aite was accepted into the Twitch Partner Program.

On 15 March, the formation of the Twitch team "Vershion" (a play on the words "version" and "shion", the Japanese word for "beautiful woman") was announced on stream. This team consists of Clio and her fellow Australian VTubers MakoFukasame, Jean Faymas and Hanya.

On 2 April, she reached 5,000 followers.

On 7 July, she reached 10,000 followers.

On 20 August, Clio announced her first ever merch drop in collaboration with UwU Market.

On 15 November, her contract was not renewed from her university as a professor.

On 23 December, Clio debuted her 1.5 model an updated version of the previous model using VBridger with more fluent animations, toggles, expressions as well as the new Hagstorian mascot design.

2024

On 19 March within the same 24 hours of the previous milestone, Clio reached 20,000 followers in due to the particular tweet.

2025

On 1 May, it was announced that Clio had joined Phase-Connect as part of Invaders QUEST, with her official debut taking place on 3 May.

Lore

• Despite exploring options such as being a mercenary, which is the reason for her model's eye scar—Alexander the Great's secret assassin, and starting the Wars of the Diadochi, Clio does not have a proper or established lore. She dismissed these options after finding out it wasn't necessary to have it in becoming a VTuber. However during her 1.5 debut she did provide a lore document in which she did try to summarize her lore; she plans to release the document once she is satisfied with the final draft.
