Production and release[]
The song was composed by synthwave musician Astrophysics, who had previously provided one of three official one-year anniversary remixes of HINOTORI. Kiara was previously familiar with the artist's work. She particularly liked the rhythm of the song's rap section.[1]
The lyrics were written by independent American musician PiNKII, a rap artist with a background in Japanese idol music, who is perhaps best known for singing the vocals of Doom Crossing.
Fever Night was released on 28 May 2022 along with a music video. Art for the music video was provided by mamaloni, who had previously contributed much fanart of Takanashi Kiara. A teaser PV was released the day before the song's release.
The song is intended to evoke the feeling of 1980s synth pop. It is sung mostly in English, with a few Japanese words. The line "I don't need no drinks tonight" references the fact that Kiara is a teetotaler. An inconsistency in the music video is that despite the 1980s style, Kiara is using a flip-phone, which was not popular until the early 2000s.
Fever Night subsequently appeared on Kiara's first album, Point of View, released on 29 August 2023.
