Projekt Melody (メロディー) is an American Virtual streamer, often referred to as an "Hgirl" or "Hentai Girl". Her initial and primary streaming platform is Chaturbate, but she later branched off to Twitch for SFW content and YouTube for Twitch clips. While originally an independent streamer, on 24 November 2020, she joined VShojo alongside Nyatasha Nyanners, Ironmouse, Zentreya, Froot, Hime Hajime, and Silvervale.

Projekt Melody is a futuristic AI program that was initially made to scan and cleanse files until she was infected with a porn-based virus, causing her to be obsessed with any variety of sexual topics and actions.
Personality
She is very upfront about her obsession with sexual topics and makes herself known as someone well-versed in the subject of sexual attraction, placing a great emphasis on her obsession with hentai, to the extent that she gives herself the alias of "Professor Hentai".
While she is known for her obsessive depiction of various forms of sexual content, she is also known for her more casual personality while interacting with others. She tries to paint herself in a humorous light more often than not and is highly curious about other people, making various curious sounds and affirming herself to add in some form of misfortune whenever she describes an event or personal element of something or someone, mostly by being snarky and callous in a cheerful and mischievous tone.
She typically refrains from being outwardly cheesy and prefers to show her emotions towards others in the form of sharing interests between herself and her fans, taking any possible opportunity that she can to stream or use her social media accounts for her fans to interact with her frequently, naming her fans "The Science Team" in reference to their mutual obsession with researching sexual topics. According to her, the reason for her deciding to stream is due to loneliness, something of which she considers ironic due to her large audience.
She is also a gamer and is well-versed in the necessities of pop culture, most notably explicated by her decision to introduce her eventual slew of streams with a complete playthrough of Portal 2, the award-winning 2011 puzzle game serving as a sequel to the equally highly ubiquitous Portal released 2008. She has gathered information of various topics within pop culture and interacts with any notable releases that she can, notable games including Minecraft and Stray. In spite of this, she has limited knowledge in other regards as she usually fails to encounter pop culture set before the 21st century due to a preference for modernity, but still has a relative level of knowledge of the history of those periods.
She has a gag alter-ego which debuted on 1 April 2020 known as "Melware". Melware would randomly take over Melody, is much more lewd and crude than regular Melody, and has a bratty personality. Often insulting her chat and the regular wholesome Melody as well. As of October 2020, Melody and Melware are no longer fighting each other, and Melody regularly steals pieces of Melware's outfit. In official lore, Melware infected the world with an omnicidal virus and is sadistic to fanatical levels about overtaking humanity, perceiving humans as worthless and AI to overall be more effective, and is also far more prone to taunting her enemies.

She has bright purple hair in a ponytail in a black ribbon with magenta highlights and blue streaks. Her eyes are a bright light blue. She has triangle shaped metallic blue hairpins and has a short black bandage on her nose.

2019
On 7 July, Melody's Twitter and YouTube account were created.
On 8 July, Melody started looking for model makers.[3]
On 24 July, Melody posted the first picture of herself.[4]
On 26 July, Melody revealed her first concept.[5]

On 29 August, Melody uploaded her first video which was an unlisted MMD video, featuring a commissioned VRoid model that didn't carry over to her formal debut. She eventually made the video public to celebrate her second anniversary on 8 July 2021.[7]
On 3 November, Digitrevx the designer of Melody's original model, showed his desk top that hints at Melody's model before the official reveal.[8]
On 14 November, she tweeted that she got a Blender specialist to actualize her space and asset designs.[9]

On 5 December, Melody purchased full rights for her from Digitrevx, he agreed, that she owned the IP and that Digitrevx was just the character designer/modeler.[11]

On 6 February, Melody uploaded her first non MMD and informational video of what is hentai.[29]
On 7 February, Melody made her Chaturbate debut.[30] This could be cited when Melody originally gained fame as the first adult virtual streamer.
On 8 February, on her second Chaturbate stream, she became the most viewed performer with over 11,922 viewers.[31]After her stream Melody reached over 20,000 followers on Twitter.[32] Meanwhile on Twitter, several Chaturbate models, including Crystal Rivers and Mel Sparks,[33]complained about Melody topping the featured page of the site during her stream, claiming that they did not wish to compete with a virtual model and expressing concerns that the character would attract underage audience to the site.
On 10 February, Melody made her sub Reddit r/projektmelody[34]
On 13 February, Melody during a stream on Valentine's day on Chaturbate, debuted a red recolor of her original costume.[35] She also created her Pornhub account to upload all of the Chaturbate stream recordings[36] and the artist BSApricot started making promotional art for Melody.[37]
On 14 February, Melody did her first full nude stream on Chaturbate for Valentine's day.[38] That stream broke Chaturbate chat with a historical room visitor count and lasted 2 hours 40 minutes, that accumulated approximately 30,000 simultaneous viewers.[39][40] The recording of the stream accumulated over 73,900 views on PornHub. On 12 March, Melody announced that she was temporarily banned from Twitch.[48] The exact reason was unspecified, but theories include the appearance of a vibrator on her bed, her shirt clipping through her model to reveal skin, lewd discussion, or sponsorship by adult website Fakku. The suspension ended soon after.

On 1 April, the "Dark Mel" personality debuted on Chaturbate. Originally just an April Fool's joke, "Dark Mel" was widely accepted and praised by her fan base and given the nickname Melware. Melware after April 1st would randomly take over Melody during Chaturbate stream days, generally once a month, to taunt Melody and her chat.[51]

On 5 November, Melody was suspended from Twitch again following a DMCA claim by her original designer DigitrevX, who claimed that he owned copyright on the model. Melody produced documentation proving that she had purchased full rights to the model in 2019. Her account was subsequently restored.[77][78]

On 24 November, Melody announced that she would be joining VTuber agency VShojo, alongside Ironmouse, Silvervale, Zentreya, Nyatasha Nyanners, Froot, and Hime Hajime. On 24 November, it was the 1 year anniversary of VShojo.[157] Projekt Melody along with her fellow VShojo members, shared their feelings towards Nux Taku for releasing a video[158] that brought to light and made public that, since the spring the talents of VShojo and many who applied to become future members were being targeted by doxxers. Expressing how she “feels secondary to his Clickbait”. Even though she was supposedly one of the people he spoke to along with theGunrun and the Head of Security before he released the video after he got their permission to release it.[159][160][161][162] After the whole ordeal theGunrun came out with a statement regarding the issues and addressing the security accusations on 26th November.[163][164] On the 28th Veibae said that everyone has apologized to each other privately. It’s worth noting that Nux stopped collaborating with Melody after this conflict.[165]

On 16 December, Big Bang Studio's YouTube channel was made.[167] The studio is a joint venture of Projekt Melody and HVR. Their goal is to create highly polished h-game experiences.
On 17 December, Melody tweeted out a video of "Projekt Melody: A Nut Between Worlds!" a h-game that is being developed by Big Bang Studio. The tweet had a link to their patreon where her fans can contribute to its development. As well as launching their website and discord. On the same day the Big Bang Studio YouTube channel uploaded the same Reveal Reveal Teaser that Melody tweeted prior.
On 19 December, Big Bang Studio created their twitter account @BigBangStudio69. In under 2 days of going live the fans helped them reach our 1st goal with 500 Patreons.[168][169]

On 15 June, Melware debuted on the Projekt Melody channel with a new Live2D model, a variant on the existing Projekt Melody model. Melware features red eyes, silver hair, a black and red color scheme for her clothing, and an Among Us style "DUM" post-it-note attached to her head. The Melware debut was announced on the VShojoOfficial YouTube channel, which briefly changed its profile description to a binary representation of the ASCII text string "MELWARE IS HERE", and tweeted in binary the phrases "SHE HAS KEY" and "SAVE HER!!!" These phrases were hints towards the eventual reveal of Amemiya Nazuna. VShojo was taken over and corrupted by Race Queen Melody who was being controlled by a Melware from the future. The day was saved by a cyber Zentreya who was from the future.

On 31 October, Big Bang Studio revealed Demon Lord Melware[231] and their TikTok account.
On 4 November, VShojo: Mythos Ode to a Cyber Apocalypse official lore was released. Where the super duper evil far future genocidal Melware fully took over present day Melody by trapping her in her own program with present day Melware. After taking out future “cyborg” Zentreya future genocidal Melware tried to trap humanity in VR to power her Machine world Matrix in the virtual world while crossing mayhem in the real world. This caused current Melody and Melware to work together with the help of a “cyber” Zentreya to try to stop future Melware. While using alternate bodies (Mini Mel and Malady) and Zen using a gecko costume they managed to aveda virtual threats and managed to go to the VShojo virtual store. When they arrived at the store they were confronted by a virtual TheGunrun where he convinces Melware to help save humanity and gives them the choice to upload themselves into a new body. Meanwhile in the real world Zentreya's discarded body comes back online, Veibae Who appeared in the beginning of the mayhem was getting brutally beaten by future Melware and randomly Merryweather in dog form was there evading capture. The ProjekMelody 3.0 initiated the CyberMel program where both programs were merged together into one physical android body. They conference future Melware where they find out her plan is to enslave the humans of this world instead of massacring them like she did in her world. Future Melware gets the upper hand on Melody, she stalls by using a speech which gives them enough time to get help from Veibae and Zentreya where all three of them use their powers combined to destroy Future Melware. The day is saved Melware 69.0 (Future Melware progra) gets deleted along with memories old body, and current day Melware somehow separates herself fromcurrent day Melody.
This lore drop was a way of debuting Melanie‘s new cyber model and explained in lore how Gunrun managed to get Melody a physical body. The Science Team is the name that Melody calls her fans, but it’s more like the name they gave themselves. The fan name in question has spun off of the meme culture that Melody accidentally made for herself, when she started to become a meme herself.
The origins started Around March 2019/03/31 in a now deleted Instagram post by user @noah_yagh. They posted a video in which he films a porno advertisement featuring a censored, naked Cameron Canela asking the viewer “Are You Seriously Watching Porn By Yourself?”,[430] followed by the camera flipping to the user and his friends. @Noah_yagh says, "Nah, I'm with my boys," and the boys all cheer and hold up a hand. The video was reposted by the @barstoolsports Instagram.
On 020/02/07, Projekt Melody, who frequently does pornographic streams on Chaturbate, did a three-hour long clothed live stream. The whole stream was uploaded to her official PornHub channel, titled "OFFICIAL Projekt Melody 2020/02/07/ Stream. Melody says, "[Are you seriously watching porn by yourself?"[431] at the request of a fan. Twitter user @TruNoom posted a video showing the Projekt Melody Chaturbate clip where she says the line, followed by a pan to the chat bar, where a number of viewers have commented, "nah I'm with my boys".[432]On 9 February, Twitter user @RicePanduh posted a video in which Melody said the line, followed by a clip of the boys cheering overdubbed with a line of dialogue from Half-Life in which a Science Team member says, "No! I'm with the Science Team!".[433]
"Science team" videos referencing the "with my boys" meme continued to pop up on YouTube over the following months, some gaining considerable attention. On February 15th, YouTuber FreshTheEnd posted a video recreating the original "I'm with the boys" video in Garry's Mod using the Projekt Melody clip and assets from Half Life, gaining over 5.1 million views in a year.[434][435]
Controversy
Initial Backlash
After her first appearance on Chaturbate, Melody received backlash from other adult performers/cam girls on Twitter such as Mel Sparx and Crystal Rivers who complained about Melody topping the featured page of the site during her stream.[436] They have felt their channels and income were threatened by her content claiming that they did not wish to compete with a virtual model. And promptly accused Melody of unfair competition and Chaturbate for trying to attract underage audiences because of her anime style, despite the vast majority of anime not aimed for children. Websites have also written articles about how fans of Melody "hated women" and were "misogynistic".[437]
DMCA takedown
On 2020/11/05, Projekt Melody tweeted out that she had received a DMCA strike from her modeler, DigitrevX.[438] In the TwitLonger, she revealed that 'Digi' claimed a list of grievances, including her failure to do things 'owed' to him, such as interaction with YFU, a talent Digi went on to create after Melody, and signing a contract to have maintenance done by a Digi-affiliated group, Giga Music, and cited his apparent ownership of Melody's model as a reason why these things were expected. After numerous attempts to solve the issue, and despite multiple agreements between Melody and Digi that the model was Mel's alone, multiple DMCA strikes were filed against her Twitch channel, resulting in a Twitch ban. This was despite the fact that Melody had bought it.[439]
However she proved that she bought it, which caused her to get her channel back and DigiTrevX to become unpopular within the community.[440] After less than two days, the strikes were lifted along with the ban. However, in her Twitch anniversary stream on 2021/03/07, Melody confirmed that a new model was in the works, to replace the original created by Digi. This model was unveiled in a Chaturbate stream on the 2021/04/23.

Podcast
Lewdcast
Lewdcast was a weekly variety VTuber podcast that was hosted by Silvervale, Projekt Melody, and Ironmouse.[441] The podcast was first streamed on 2020/09/09, and posted on their YouTube channel of the same name, which was made on September 3 of the same year.[442][443] Lewdcast had a clips channel where they posted funny moments and segmented clips. The show was also published over on their spotify, iTunes and soundcloud.[444]
The show consists of the three girls talking about a myriad of topics, while trying to have some type of structure of how the show would go. They had segments like “News of the week” where they would talk about recent events. They had “Anime Book club”, a segment where they would talk about new anime, anime they have watched, and share their opinions about them.[445] They also had an “Art Corner” segment where they showed fan art, some of which had to be censored.[446] They would have portions of the show where they would bring in a guest, which was later changed to have the guest at the start of the show instead of later. Where they would have a “Curiouscat QnA” and answer fan submitted “Guest Questions” among other more random questions.[447]
Later on in 2020, Lewdcast became affiliated with VShojo[448] upon the company's announcement of the three hosts debuting as members of the agency. Since having been previously run independently by the three of them. Their first episode as a part of Vshojo was Episode 9, which came out on 12/04. With Apricot being their guest after her debut,[449] making her the first member of Vshojo not including the hosts to be on the show post agency launch.
Lewdcast has had many guests during its time such as Nyatasha Nyanners, the episode she is in marked the first time the three met her.[450] She would go on to become a founding member of VShojo along with the three hosts.[451] As well as future additional VShojo member Veibae,[452] who was already friends with the trio. They have had guests like Shibuya Kaho & Takahata before they become VTubers and along with a “pre Bubi” CDawgVA.[453][454][455] They have also had notable guests like a pre Raccoon “cat” Snuffy[456] and a pre controversial Bunny GIF among other notable names in the VTbers community.[457][458]
The last episode of this version of Lewdcast was on 2021/01/27, with Zentreya (who was a dragon at the time) as their guest.[459] After that on 2021/02/02, they said on their twitter that they will be taking a week off to prep for them to move into their new pre-recorded format, and to expect a new Lewdcast sometime later after the move, that would premiere on YouTube with live chat.[460] Which would have had Hime Hajime (their fellow VSojo member) as their guest. After that tweet all related platforms including their reddit page[461] went silent and subsequently marked an abrupt year-long hiatus and an end to this version of The Lewdcast Podcast.

Lewdcast 2.0
Melody/Melware made a tweet on 2022/01/21, talking about how “excited for her podcast thing” she is, which turned out to be LewdCast.[462] On 2022/01/28, Projekt Melody hosting on her own, streamed LewdCast for the first time in a little over a year, on her Chaturbate as a part of a collab with TheGoldenGoddes & Tricky_Nymph__.[463][464]
One month later Melody would upload a pre-recorded pilot episode of LewdCast. In the pilot she made a point to say “Welcome Welcome to Lewd-pas pffk~. Welcome LewdCast podcast, a reboot of a podcast of the same name which was unfortunately lost at sea some years back, only recently re-discovered by marine scientists collecting data for their tier list” as a reason for the sudden hiatus and for its random relaunch as Lewdcast Podcast 2.0.[465] Though in Episode 5, of Lewdcast 2.0 while talking to her guest Finana Ryugu, she said that her interest in teaching people about lewd things made her want to bring back the podcast. [466]
This version of the show consist of Melody trying to articulate her vast sexual knowledge to her audience, with a disclaimer that she might be wrong since she is not a medical doctor, lawyer or a social psychologist. Projekt Melody says there would be “segment diversity, from drunken rants about perverted historical events and persons to analyzing sexual topics, and ideally callabs with lewd minded and lewd employed pierce to talk about body politics and Etsy butt plug tier list”. There was a Curious cat that was used to ask question for when she ran out of topics but has since been replaced with d Google Doc Lewdcast Questions!. Whenever Melody has a quest on her show it mainly consists of them answering questions about themselves, lewd topics or random topics. Most often the show goes off topic due to any number of distractions.
Projekt Melody has had many diverse guests on Lewdcast 2.0, both in virtual (VTuber) and non virtual (FleshTuber). Some such FleshTubers she has has on like TheGoldenGoddes & TrickyNymph who were the first guests on Lewdcast 2.0 as well as PeachJars & JennaLynnMeowri[467] who all are involved in making some type of pornographic content. Melody has had some well known and popular indie VTubers, such as the two whaleTubers Shylily and Bao as well as The number 1# news reporter in VRChat and milkman Drumsy.[468][469][470] Mel eve had guests from other VTuber agency like Lumi[471] from Merryweather Media[472] and NIJISANJI ENs own Finana Ryugu[473] and Vox Akuma.[474] Projekt Melody even had her two former co hosts & fellow VShojo members Silvervale and Ironmouse as guests, and her VShojo kohai the legendary and controversial Kson.[475][476][477]
Lewdcast Podcast 2.0 is still an ongoing show that comes out whenever Melody is able to stream it.

Death and Debts
Death and Debts is a campaign set on Kalkatesh. This campaign features players that are all VTubers. The campaigns were was streamed on Arcadum's Twitch channel.
The premise is six adventurers answer the call of Baba Yaga, the Witch Queen, to Witchtown to help solve the problems of Dolten. They infiltrate a ball in order to find a traitor selling the secrets of Dolten to foreign nations, leading to the group investigating a mystery and collecting nipples.
The campaigns had Bunny GIF as Madeleine a wood elf Swashbuckler, Ironmouse as Umi a triton mermaid bard, Momo as Vaeri a kobold fighter, Zentreya as Zara a red orc Monk/Fighter (Samurai), Silvervale as Revlis Tiefling (Asmodeus) Part Succubus Warlock and Projekt Melody as Terryn Zabi a Changeling Warlock (The Great Old One).[480]

Steel and Silence
Steel and Silence is a campaign set on Kalkatesh. It is the 2nd season of Death and Debts. The campaigns were was streamed on Arcadum's Twitch channel. With the same cast as the previous campaigns.
The Premise is, the adventurers begin their journey across Daborak to meet the Lord of Blades to ask for assistance in the incoming fight against the Enemy.[481]

On the 8th of july she displayed computer codes.[482][483] July 11 she showed Firefox web browser cleaning site preferences, history as well as improved sys monitoring and microsoft edge; uninstalled microsoft edge, and bug fixes.[484] On the 18th of July Melody found a scary letter from “Director of U.S. Sexual HEalth Serives” during her daily email scan which stated “Member, did you know your penis danger?
