HIPPI (ヒッピ) is a virtual artist produced by 1st PLACE Co., Ltd. and is a member of the -ARIA ON THE PLANETES- project alongside VOCALOID, CeVIO Creative Studio and CeVIO AI vocalists IA and ONE.[1]
History[]
Background[]
HIPPI's YouTube channel, "HIPPI / ヒッピ", was created on 26 April 2022. Her Twitter account @HIPPI_ARIA03 was created on 25 November 2022.
HIPPI's debut videos were HIPPI 「Love Letter」LIVE MUSIC VIDEO, dated 26 April 2022, and あなたの夜が明けるまで / HIPPI (cover), dated 26 April 2022.
HIPPI is a bilingual (English and Japanese) vocalist and sings with her real voice. She writes songs and lyrics which makes her the first singer song writer from ARIA.[2] Like IA and ONE, HIPPI was born on the fictional planet Planet ARIA. According to an "ARIAers TV" broadcast on June 22, it was stated HIPPI taught IA how to play guitar before she came to earth. HIPPI was regarded as a strict teacher to her.[3]
2021[]
During the IA 9th & ONE 6th Anniversary ‒Super LIVESHOW- on January 27, 2021, three characters were unveiled, one of which borne the name "H" on her nametag and the other two being an anthropomorphic lion and a reindeer-like creature. Their relationship to IA and ONE at the time was unknown, however, they were later announced to be “ARIA” members.[4]
"H" was later revealed to be HIPPI via a CAMPFIRE crowdfunding campaign held by 1st PLACE Co., Ltd. to build the VR ARIA THEATER beginning April 23.[5] Here, it was announced that HIPPI would join IA and ONE as a featured performer for events held at the theatre.[6]
A sample of HIPPI's voice provider was posted to the official [IA & ONE OFFICIAL] Virtual Broadcast YouTube channel via an "ARIAers TV" broadcast. She greeted fans and introduced HIPPI in both Japanese and English.[7]
HIPPI made her official debut on July 31, 2021 during the ARIA SPECIAL SHOWCASE ～ IA & OИE & HIPPI LIVE Limited Edition ～ with a 3D performance of the song Love Letter by HIPPI herself.
On October 8, 2021 HIPPI's first single Love Letter made it's official debut.[8][9]. The single features one song Love Letter composed by Yui Otsuka, Yumi Muroya & hanawaya and was sang by her voice provider. HIPPI is credited as the lyricist in the description.[10]
2022[]
On April 25, 2022, an official Twitter account was created for HIPPI.[11] The following day on April 26, an official YouTube channel was created and the full music video version of LOVE LETTER was released.[12] An official Nico Nico Douga channel was also created for HIPPI the same day and her first cover of あなたの夜が明けるまで (Anata no Yoru ga Akeru Made) was released.
