Hanabatake Chaika (花畑チャイカ) is a male Japanese Virtual YouTuber and a member of NIJISANJI. Previously, he was a first-generation member of NIJISANJI SEEDs along with Dola, Umiyashano Kami, Nakao Azuma, Izumo Kasumi, Todoroki Kyoko, Sister Claire, Yashiro Kizuku, Azuchi Momo, Suzuki Masaru, Ryushen, Uzuki Kou, and Hassaku Yuzu.

He previously owned a bar, as a 'Mama', in a country in another world.
Three years ago, he was transported to the present day and is now the owner of a certain coffee shop. He has a keen sense of intuition and is very clever.[2]

Chaika's YouTube channel was created on 25 May 2018 and his Twitter account also created in same month. His first tweet was made on 3 June 2018.
He made his YouTube debut on 6 June 2018 and posted his self introduction video on Twitter on the same day.
2018[]
On 23 June, Chaika reached 10,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[3]
On 2 September, Chaika reached 20,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[4]
On 1 December, Chaika reached 30,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[5]
On 13 December, Ichikara Inc. announced that NIJISANJI Gamers and NIJISANJI SEEDs would merge with NIJISANJI by the end of the month.[6] As a result, Chaika is now officially affiliated with NIJISANJI.
2019[]
On 25 January, Chaika reached 40,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[7]
On 3 March, Chaika reached 50,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[8]
On 21 June, Chaika debuted the 2.0 brushup of his Live2D model.

- On 2 October 2019 Chaika participated in the concert event NIJISANJI Music Festival - Powered by DMMM Music, in which he appeared in 3D for the first time.[17]
- On 5 April 2020 Chaika performed in the Zepp concert tour NIJISANJI JAPAN TOUR 2020 Shout in the Rainbow! at the Zepp Namba venue.[18]
- On 9 February 2024, a collaboration between the arcade version of the game Taiko no Tatsujin and NIJISANJI was announced, involving Chaika as well as certain other Livers who had released singles as part of the FOCUS ON - NIJISANJI SINGLE COLLECTION project. The collaboration included the release of playable versions of game songs covered by the selected Livers, as well as an original song for the game, "Koko Doko? Tabun Dokka Dō!" (ココドコ?多分ドッカ島!).[19]

- He is a male elf who dresses in female maid clothing and has a very gaudy make-up. He is often referred as an 'okama' (transvestite), but personally he prefers to be referred as an 'onee' (elder sister).
- The name "Chaika" in Russian is spelled "czajka" which means northern lapwing, which his character design inspired from.
- While in the other world where he came from, Chaika means "Char Aznable", referencing to Gundam Series' Char Aznable.
- He convinced that his name is a kira-kira name, both in his previous world and the current world.[21]
