Emuri Hiiragi (柊・えむり) is a female English/Japanese-speaking independent Virtual YouTuber who debuted on 26th September 2020. She is a housewife as her main occupation, and a musician and a gamer in her free time. She is a human, although she wears a hat with cat ears, and has a cat tail attached to her sweater as a decoration.

She is a housewife and a musician who decided to become a VTuber.
Personality[]
Emuri is very energetic and goofy, with a tendency to constantly giggle. Having a good sense of humor, and being self-aware of her goofiness, she often jokes about herself. She is very positive, tries to engage with her chat all the time, and also does not take much offense at any chat remarks, making good jokes out of them. Emuri does not shy away from risqué commentary but does not let it get any further than that.
Appearance[]
She has short purple/silver hair, turquoise eyes, a beauty mark under her left eye, and a long sharp upper left fang.
Emuri wears a black top with a violin design on it. The top is also decorated with a gem matching her eye color. She wears a pink patterned collar with frills and a black choker, decorated with a cherry pendant. She has a pink wool sweater that she wears slightly off, baring her shoulders. Emuri wears pink shorts with a cotton end, identical thigh-high black socks with pink strings in the upper area, and white fluffy cat slippers, decorated with pink bows. She has a black cat tail that is attached by a black bow to her sweater, and has another bow at the end of the tail, decorated with a turquoise gemstone. She wears a black hat with cat ears, which has a violin and a cherry clips at the front, and a bow at the back. When she plays games, she often switches her hat to a pink headset with cat ears. Sometimes she doesn't wear anything on her head.
Her second outfit is more of a contrast to her previous one. Starting with the hair, it is tied up in a loop with a "dayon" clip with a bit of space for hair strands to stick out, and when released, the hair is longer, reaching just before her shoulders. She has a blue triangular shaped hairband with a oval shaped hole, and a pink bow-shaped hair strand from below it. She has cat ears with a similar colour to her hair, and large thick rectangular shaped glasses. Replacing her top outfit, her she wears a black choker with a pink bow and single pearl, and a pink dress that ends with a frilly skirt. The dress has a flower pattern, with 3 white bows in the middle of the top, exposes her collarbone and (real) mole right below it.
The legs are exposed with no leggings, but instead a blue/white patterned wool sock with on each opposing side, green string and 2 pink cotton balls that resemble cherries. She wears a white jacket with pockets and a wooly hoodie which has a cat face with ears, that has pink bow accessories, one in each pocket, and sleeve. The jacket has a zipper with a 'f hole' which relates to her violin playing, opened up on top and stop right below her chest. The jacket as a 'Emuri' heart text right at the bottom of the jacket, she has a white cat tail with a pink bow and long frill attached, both hands with the mint coloured nail polish.

2020[]
She debuted on 26 September as a Custom Cast VTuber.
2021[]
On 27 February 2021 she debuted her second model.
On 27 March 2021 she celebrated her 6 month anniversary, opening membership to her viewers.
On 4 April 2021 she officially joined a VTuber group called mythic live.
On 1 May 2021 she did a 9 hour donation marathon, also called dayonathon, with the main goal of getting another model outfit at $1500. The goal was reached in 20 minutes. She also revealed her cat form, a default cat VTuber model that comes with the app she uses.
On 17 July 2021 she debuted a third model also known as the scuff model. This model was a donation goal from the dayonathon. Unlike the second model, this model isn't meant to replace the last one.
On 25 September 2021 she revealed her second outfit, at the same time of her 1st year Anniversary stream, with the announcement of merchandise, and an original song.
2022[]
On 29 April, she announced that she would be graduating college, getting married and moving (in that order), and would thus be taking an extended hiatus in order to settle everything before returning to streaming.[1]
On 25 June, she returned from her hiatus to take part in the Gamers Outreach charity for 3 days. She reached double of her original 1k dollars goal before she even started streaming and ended with roughly 4k dollars.
On 11 July, Emuri's Youtube channel reached 10k subscribers which was her main goal when she debuted.
On 10 December, she revealed her third outfit just one day before her birthday.
2023[]
On 18 May, she did a non-stop 72 hour donation marathon stream. By the end of the stream, she reached her final goal of 10k dollars.
Fans[]
Her fanbase is officially called the "Nyakama". There is an official discord server with Emuri in it for all Nyakama. Her Members fanbase is named "Memberdayon", demonstrating Emuri's English/Japanese duality. New Memberdayons get the usual perks on Youtube such as member streams and channel emotes. On Discord they get a special role and access to the Memberdayon text channel and voice chat. The first Memberdayons also got a personalized digital thank you card from Emuri.
A new level called "Dayonator" was added in for the donation marathon. This was intended to be for the person who donated the most but since 4 people intentionally tied, they all received the rank. Dayonators receive a special role on the discord server and a special thank you video from Emuri herself. Since then other high level donators have obtained the rank.
Since previous Dayonators once again reached the top 3 donation spots during her May donation marathon, a new level was added called "Chadkama". Chadkama get a special role on Emuri's discord server.
Trivia[]
- Emuri can play a violin, a piano, and a kazoo. She also has a very beautiful singing voice. She does violin streams (playing mostly video game/anime OST), karaoke streams, and made several covers, including a kazoo cover of KING as a joke. Additionally, she can draw, and sometimes does drawing streams and art commissions.
- Emuri's native language is English, but she is also fluent in Japanese. She always translates anything she says in English to Japanese. She often makes jokes when she struggles with her English, being teased that she needs to do English learning streams.
- Emuri enjoys Japanese sweets, cats, cute clothes, and cosmetics. She has a very cute overweight ginger cat.
- Since she moved, she owns a fat white cat and a black cat with fangs. Her ginger cat remained at her parents' house.
- Emuri's favorite anime are Fate/Stay Night, Haruhi Suzumiya, Revue Starlight, Penguindrum and Oreimo.
- Emuri's favorite games are Kirby, Professor Layton, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Bang Dream! and Groove Coaster. Such selection of games is partially due to the fact that she didn't have a good PC before starting her VTuber career. After getting a better PC, she stated that she is planning to play a variety of PC games in the future.
- Emuri is often jokingly referred to as a potato. It has started after she called herself a potato when making questionable in-game decisions during her gaming stream. She also drew herself as a potato wearing headphones during her drawing stream.
- Emuri is also teasingly called a Grandma (or obaa-chan/obaa-san in a Japanese manner) a lot, partially because of her silver hair. In one of her streams, she confirmed that her family members also call her sometimes "a tea grandma".
- Emuri sometimes tries to eat her chat, usually on request.
- There is a running joke among her fans about never forgetting Emuri's 1.0 model, which was very scuffed and capable of doing flips when Emuri was drinking water or playing a violin, forcing her to use a still image of her holding a violin during her performance streams.
- Emuri streams from her parent's house basement, so she can be as loud as she wants. She has since moved out of her parent's basement when she got married.
- Emuri was bad at most video games, which became a subject of many jokes among the viewers, but since then she has improved her gaming skills and managed to beat really hard bosses like Chaos Elfilin.
- Emuri sometimes plays bishōjo games such as Gal Gun, which at some point made her fear that YT won't approve her membership application, due to her being an eroge streamer.
- In one of her streams, Emuri admitted that her beauty mark, in fact, is a fake.
- Emuri's signature 1.0 model black midriff top was due to her not liking any of the shirt options and going topless.
- It has become a tradition for Emuri to celebrate major milestones in her VTuber career by ordering a pizza together with her chat (chat sometimes takes a direct participation in selection of the ingredients). Most of the times it ends really badly, with pizza having a weird toppings combination, pineapples being one of them almost each time.
- Emuri claims her large growth is due to consuming her 1.0 model for nutrients.
- Emuri hates milk with a passion and will not consume it under any circumstances. Even during the spicy noodles challenge, she opted to eat yogurt than to drink milk. During the May donation marathon, the final goal of 10k dollars was reached, which forced her to drink milk. Upon drinking it, Emuri struggled to not puke and later felt stomach pain.
- Emuri once sneezed spicy noodle sauce out of her nose. She wasn't harmed in the process.
- During a relaxing town building game stream, Emuri instead built a 3-layered prison of pain and despair. This prison has been named Nyalcatraz and it is joked that all Nyakamas reside there.
- Emuri has admitted that her model represents her fetishes.
- Emuri is really good at Fortnite to the point that she won her second game ever.
- Emuri likes Luigi a lot, to the point that she dedicated an entire stream reading a book about why Luigi is the best thing to ever happen.
- Emuri has done streams in real life while cosplaying. This has lead to that form of Emuri being called "the cosplayer"
- When Emuri does violin streams, she uses separate hand and arm assets. Because of this she sometimes seems to have 4 arms.
- Emuri has been involved in multiple car accidents. According to her, these accidents weren't caused by her.
- Emuri is afraid of stairs. On an unrelated note she has moved into a house with stairs.
- Emuri shares the same character illustrator with Raven Noah, Miname Tette and Cocoshiro Yuara.
