Hiodoshi Ao (火威青) is a Japanese-speaking Virtual YouTuber affiliated with hololive DEV_IS, a branch of hololive production. She debuted in 2023 as part of the unit ReGLOSS alongside Otonose Kanade, Ichijou Ririka, Juufuutei Raden and Todoroki Hajime.

A manga artist who loves solitude… or so the people around her think.
She tries to play herself off as cool and aloof, but beyond the surface she is quite the otaku.
She cares a lot about how she is perceived, which is why she is always dressed immaculately in public.
How she is at home, though… is a Pandora's box.

She has short, dark hair that's sort of a mullet with blue-ish streaks/highlights tied back into a small ponytail and blue eyes. She wears a grey pinstripe suit over a black shirt with a gold chain.

Background[]
hololive DEV_IS was initially teased during the conclusion of hololive's SPLASH PARTY! Night concert with a short video on 27 August 2023. The teaser was also shared later that day on both hololive's Twitter account and hololive DEV_IS YouTube channel on 27 August 2023.[2] The channel itself was created on 21 August.
On 29 August 2023, following the YouTube channel released short videos of the members in a countdown leading to the project's reveal. Ao's teaser was the first featuring a solo member of the group.[3]
On 4 September, after finishing the coutdown, hololive DEV_IS YouTube channel introduced the group ReGLOSS along with the music video "Shunkan Heartbeat", revealing the identities of all its members as well as their channels and social media accounts.[4] Ao also made her first tweet on this date.[5] Ao's teaser video from hololive DEV_IS channel was also uploaded to her personal channel, now fully displaying her face.[6]
Ao's YouTube channel was created on 21 July 2023, and her Twitter account was also created on this month.
On 7 September, hololive DEV_IS's YouTube channel uploaded another video this time showing ReGLOSS' members actual models and appearances outside of their unified group clothes.[7]
She debuted on 9 September 2023, and was the first member to debut.[8]
2023[]
On 10 September, Ao reached 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
On 17 September, she released her first solo cover song "Dokuzu" by NAKISO.
On 29 September, she celebrated her YouTube channel monetization and enabled Super Chat feature.[9]
On 10 October, Ao had her first collaboration cover along with ReGLOSS, the song "REALiZE" by LiSA.
On 20 October, Ao enabled her YouTube membership feature.[10]
On 13 November, she reached 200,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[11]
2024[]
On 14 January, Ao reached 300,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during a holo no Suika stream.[12][13]
On 24 March, during their half-year anniversary, ReGLOSS announced that they would get 3D models.[14]
On 12 April, Ao reached 400,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during an endurance karaoke stream.[15]
On 14 August, she reached 500,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, making her the 63rd hololive member and also the 3rd member in ReGLOSS to reach the milestone.[16][17]
On 10 September, during ReGLOSS first anniversary, they announced their first 3D live "Reach the Top", released their first group album "ReGLOSS" and their new original song "feelingradation."[18] hololive DEV_IS also opened membership feature on its YouTube channel.
On 28 September, during the "Reach the Top" 3D Live, ReGLOSS debuted their 3D models. Two different costumes were revealed, their group uniforms and later their default outfits.[19]

- Her fans are called "Dokusha"「読者」, which means "reader." It was decided during her debut stream.
- Her members are called "Ao no Hondana"「青の本棚」.
- The unofficial fan name is "Vicitm's Association." I.e. the fans are the Victims of Ao-kun's Ikemen approach.. (much to her chagrin.)

- Ao and other members reached 50,000 subscribers on their YouTube channels on 5 September (after one day of the announcement), but due to the YouTube's anti-bot algorithm on new channels, their subscriber count was reduced quite significantly.[21]
- Ao shares her character designer with Tsukishita Kaoru of HOLOSTARS.
