IRIAM is a Japanese smartphone application and live streaming platform dedicated for VTubers. It is operated by IRIAM Inc. (a subsidiary of DeNA Co., Ltd.), and launched in Japan in October 2018. The app has been downloaded 3.49 million times as of October 2024,[1] and the US version launched in beta in November 2024.

The app allows its streamers easy access to VTuber live streaming by accepting character illustration uploads to make a 2D model, for users who don't have an existing Live2D model.[2]

In October 2018, DUO Inc. (now ZIZAI) launched the Japanese version. At the end of October, the Android version released as well.

On 1 August 2021, DeNA Co., Ltd. (who also owns the SHOWROOM streaming platform) acquired IRIAM from ZIZAI Inc.

On 15 November 2024, the US version launched in beta.[3] During the US beta period, only Founding Streamers will be able to stream.[4] The current list of announced streamers for IRIAM US, as of November 2024, is available here.

On 17 June 2025, IRIAM US opened auditions for 3 English-language VTuber designs. Audition passers are considered independent "licensees" of the character IP, the rights to which will be transferred to them after 300 hours of streaming on the IRIAM app (this includes a clause where the licensor, IRIAM US retains the ability to use the IP in any way).[5]

On 20 January 2026, IRIAM US became available to download in Canada.[6]

Trivia[]

  • VTubers on IRIAM JP are typically called "VLivers".
  • Even in Japan alone, there is a large number of VTubers (and a significant number of VTuber agencies) who stream exclusively on IRIAM.
  • The IRIAM US website lists a large number of VTubers as "Founding Streamers" but not all of them are members: IRIAM itself is not a VTuber agency, but a streaming platform.[5]
    • Many of those listed are independent and some of them are actually members of existing VTuber agencies like BondliveEN, who has an entire division of VTubers dedicated to streaming exclusively on the IRIAM app.
