Personality[]
Nozomi is a typical chūnibyō girl whose goal is to become a "super charisma influencer" and conquer the world with the power of social media. In contrast to her "public" villainous persona, her actual personality is honest and innocent.
Nozomi's overall personality resembles Nagao Kei's, with Kenmochi Toya's talkativeness blended in; she is cheerful and often laughs during streams, including at her own jokes. She likes to jokes around her fans, and it has since been regarded as the major trait of her personality. She also has a fondness for internet memes and often uses it to banter with her fans.
When a stream is starting she greets with "Welcome to Underground," and when ending a stream she says farewell with "La Jodasoh Steana". Due to their lengths, her fans unofficially abbreviated them as "WtU" and "La!" respectively, both of which became official as of the opening of channel membership, adding them as two of its custom emotes.
Appearance[]
Nozomi has long white hair with some pink and light blue-green streaks and hairclips, pulled into a half-up with a large black polka dotted bow on the back of her head. She has one pink and one light silvery grey eye. Both her ears are extensively pierced. In her default appearance, she wears a cropped burgundy off-shoulder top and a pleated burgundy wrap skirt over a pair of black high-waisted shorts. She wears a pair of fishnet stockings layered with ripped maroon thigh-high socks, both tucked into black boots with burgundy laces. She has bandages wrapped around her left forearm and a fingerless glove on her left hand, and studded bracelets and rings on her right hand and wrist. Her other accessories include a spiked choker with attached necktie, a silver necklace with the ◇◆ motif that all of the Idios members share, and various belts and chain belts. Options:

Nozomi's second outfit features her in casual homewear. She wears a oversized black hoodie with devil horns, a black sports bra with "Underground" printed on it and black loose shorts. She wears the same silver necklace with the ◇◆ motif she does in her default outfit, and has a black garterbelt around her right thigh. Her hair is tied in low twintails with white ribbons. Options:

As a VTA student, Nozomi had medium-length white hair and brown eyes. She wore the VTA female uniform, consisting of a hooded black varsity jacket with white stripes, a black cardigan, a white dress shirt, a black necktie with blue, lime green, and purple stripes, and a black pleated skirt with diagonal pinstripes along the bottom hem. She wore black calf-length socks and black loafers. |

Trivia[]
Identity[]
- Color: #E6325F[2]
- Background:
Half-demon, half-human. - Occupation:
Super charisma influencerFreeter.
Character and Lore[]
- Nozomi is a half-demon, half-human hybrid. The bandages on her left arm seal away her demonic power and keep it under control. Her arm occasionally throbs with pain as a result, as does her cursed right eye (邪気眼), which was bestowed upon her as one of the "chosen ones".[1][2]
- Her goal is to use her demonic power and to become a "super charisma influencer" on the internet in order to conquer the world, and eventually use her influence to "turn this rotten world upside-down".[2]
- In the past, before Nozomi activated her powers, she felt that the world was scarier than she expected - leading her to curse it as "rotten". But then she discovered the internet and found a lot of support and like-minded individuals there, enough to believe in herself and that she perhaps had "powers" thanks to the
delusionsrevelations others gave her. Wondering why she was given these powers, she resolved to use them to change the world and save the weak. But she realized that just using power to do so wasn't enough - she needed to become an "influencer" and attract more believers to her cause.[2]
- In the past, before Nozomi activated her powers, she felt that the world was scarier than she expected - leading her to curse it as "rotten". But then she discovered the internet and found a lot of support and like-minded individuals there, enough to believe in herself and that she perhaps had "powers" thanks to the
- Her streams and other activities are occasionally delayed or disrupted by a mysterious organization; examples of interference include problems with her internet connection and on-stream attacks
that are 100% real, and not stock audio. It is certainly not an excuse for issues on Nozomi's end.[33][34] - In reality, Nozomi is a normal human with delusions of grandeur who works part-time at a family restaurant (i.e., she is a freeter). The bandages actually cover up a botched tattoo scar, and her apparent heterochromia is thanks to a colored contact lens. The "pain" she feels is actually due to her scar hurting because of changes in atmospheric pressure and the contact lens being too dry, respectively.[2]
- Like most of the other members of Idios, she appears to no longer age. She has stated that even after celebrating her first birthday as a part of NIJISANJI in 2023, she would still identify herself as being 22
00years oldas she would feel too embarrassed to ask ANYCOLOR staff to change her official profile to say 2201 years old.[36]
Name[]
- "Ishigami Nozomi" is her mortal name; her shinmei (神名, divine name) has yet to be revealed.
Probably because she doesn't have one. - Her surname Ishigami is written as 石神, with 石 (ishi) meaning stone and 神 (gami) meaning god.
- Her given name Nozomi is written in hiragana (のぞみ), usually reserved for feminine names.
- The word "nozomi" (望) means hope.
Preferences[]
- Likes:
- Anime and manga: Angel Beats!, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, other works by Ohtaka Shinobu[2][37]
- Music: Hip-hop (GAKI RANGER, Infumiaikumiai, Creepy Nuts)[2]
- Food: Imo-kenpi, aka ebi (赤エビ, red shrimp) sushi, ramen (miso, Ramen Jiro), tuna, salmon, chocolate cake, very cheesy pizza[37][38][39][40]
- Alcohol: Beer (especially ale; though she often relies on happōshu due to her poverty), wine (especially red as it pairs well with cheese; though again she relies on cheap, easy-to-drink wine)[2][37]
- Movies: April Fools, Marvel Cinematic Universe films[37]
- Novelists: Minato Kanae[37]
- Seiyū: Kurosawa Tomoyo, Sawashiro Miyuki, Hisakawa Aya[41]
- Other: The internet (because it is chaos that accepts anyone and anything), drawing[2]
Miscellaneous[]
- Idios' default outfits all feature accessories with a shared ◇◆ motif, all of which are real-life accessories from the brand Dinamis' 23AW / symbol Collection (a brand they later officially became models for). The accessories were designed by Sophia Valentine's illustrator yadapot.[42]
- Nozomi's accessories include Necklace NBS-2305 around her neck and two of Hair Pin NBS-2307.
- Both her opening and ending greetings originate from 2channel memes and copypastas, both of which are associated with chūnibyōs:
- Her opening greeting, "Welcome to Underground", originates from a copypasta about people who discover 2channel for the first time; with the "Underground" in question being a chūnibyō way of referring to 2channel.
- Her ending greeting, "La Jodasoh Steana" (ラ・ヨダソウ・スティアーナ), is a nonsensical phrase originating from a story about someone (characterized as a chūnibyō) pretending to be part of a secret global conspiracy, the Canossa Organization (カノッサ機関); in the story, the person uses "La Jodasoh Steana" as a fake password or keyphrase.
- The Canossa Organization, which also has its origins in 2channel lore, appears to be the basis for the mysterious organization that Nozomi blames for her stream problems or delays. It is a fictional world organization (like a New World Order) said to control the world from the shadows.
- Because of her speech patterns - for example, her use of the word shitakke (したっけ)[43] - viewers speculate that
the Demon World is inshe is from Hokkaido, since said speech patterns are associated with Hokkaido dialects. - She has a driver's license.
- When she, Ryushen, Kuramochi Meruto, and Kaburaki Roco all went to Nasu Highland Park together, she was the one who drove them, as she apparently had the best driving skills.[44]
- Her immediate family includes her parents, who she refers to as Ōinaru Sonzai (大いなる存在, great beings), and two siblings, who she refers to as Jōi Sonzai (上位存在, higher beings).[37]
- The reason she started liking VTubers: Nozomi used to occasionally watch streams and Let's Plays, but never really got invested in them. However, one day Nozomi watched the stream of a virtual person similar to her, and realized that technology had been invented that allowed virtual people like them to stream and commentate. As Nozomi was feeling quite down at the time, she felt encouraged by the VTubers she watched, especially ones that would treat their viewers as a friend.[45] The fact that she can no longer watch VTubers as often since becoming one herself is a point of concern for her.[46]
- Because of her status as a VTuber enjoyer turned VTuber, she deliberately avoided endurance streaming because she personally preferred shorter VODs as a viewer. However, as she explained, since most of her debut-mates are endurance streamers, this self-restriction eventually broke down (note that said explanation came 8 hours into a 9 hour stream).[47]
- Her NIJISANJI senpai Amagase Muyu considers Nozomi her oshi;[48] Muyu also happens to be an actual half-human, half-yōkai. This becomes quite
hilariousawkward from time to time because Muyu genuinely believes that Nozomi is a fellow hybrid, as Nozomi tries her hardest to avoid the subject when Muyu asks her about her "experiences" as a hybrid in an attempt to find some common ground.[49][50]
Setup/Equipment[]
- PC:
- Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080Ti[51]
- She uses a XP-Pen Artist 13.3 Pro tablet for her artwork.[52]
Live Chat Etiquette[]
- Common VTuber chat etiquette is summarised here: "VTuber Chat Etiquette"
