"Call me Jets!"

Jean Faymas, commonly known as Jets, is an Australian female VTuber and artist. She is a plamo and mecha-loving tomboy, and is most well-known for her relentlessly upbeat personality, love of all things retro, and self-proclaimed "dingus brain".

She is associated most closely with her fellow Australians Hanya, Mako Fukasame, and Clio Aite in the Australian VTuber collective Vershion.

Personality[]

Jets is an excitable and energetic tomboy with a positive and welcoming attitude toward everyone. As a professional mech pilot working for Cynapse Inc., when not streaming she is busy fighting kaiju with her mech M-11-A as a domestic protection operative of the Australian defense division of Cynapse.

She is a quintessential boomer zoomer - despite having only just graduated from mech academy (university), much of her taste in music, shows, movies, games, art and even architectural design derives from the period between the 60s and 2000s. She is a huge fan of David Bowie, The Smiths, Twin Peaks, Serial Experiments Lain, CRT monitors, IBM keyboards and much more. She has also shown expertise and knowledge in the history of modern art.

Her youth and relative life inexperience often render her unintentionally seiso when lewd topics arise, although she does have a hidden darker side evident through her Twitter likes and occasional spicy drawings.

While not the most naturally talented gamer in the world, becoming flustered and panicky under stressful situations, she is stubbornly determined and refuses to be defeated by a challenge. She is rarely interested in triple AAA titles of the moment and is usually to be found playing a retro or indie game, drawing, or just chatting.

She also makes creative use of the streaming and VTubing medium, often creating elaborate stream overlays such as YouTube's UI circa 2012, the Metal Gear codec screen, a Windows XP desktop with vintage Wordart, and CRT screen savers.

Appearance[]

Jets has pale skin, short and messy ash purple layered hair (with the addition of an ahoge since Season 2) and two silver crossed hair clips, soft green eyes with sparkles in her pupils, and slight facial freckling. She has metallic nubs attached to both sides of the top of her head, which are neural interfaces implanted directly into her brain to help her link more effectively with her mech, and definitely not cat ears. When activated they glow orange, an effect which also spills over to her eyes. Physically she is lanky and thin, and often described as a stick by herself, chat, and friends.

Seasons 1 Jets was usually seen wearing a white button shirt rolled up to her elbows, under a black sweater vest, purple skirt, knee socks, and black platform shoes, representing her mech studies uniform. A red safety-pinned armband on her right sleeve displayed her mech pilot registration number, 237, with the same number also displayed on a red tag that carries the key to her mecha M-11-A. Her hands and wrists were bandaged, and her knees covered in plasters. She also was occasionally seen at various times sporting round silver reading glasses, a metal headset that sat just behind her neural implants, a black Cynapse-branded jacket, or a black beret that covered most of her head.

She also carried a black leather handbag with a grey strap with badges pinned along it, representing her love of Star Trek, Blade Runner, Gurren Lagann, and sci-fi in general.

Having now graduated from her mech studies, Jets has started wearing a full mech suit, consisting of a consists of a loose purple sweater-like base, with a white, beige and grey skintight material on top around her abdomen and down to just above her kneecaps and along most of her arm and hands. White tube-like frames hold most of the suit together and appear to connect the different sections, mostly on her posterior down to her upper thighs. A spinal frame also runs down most of her back, and ends in a long tail-like plug used to form a neural connection to her mecha M-11-A. Two claw-like gauntlets can be attached to the rest of her mech suit by her elbows and hands, extending her reach down to her knees. She also wears tall platform boots in the same color scheme.

Over the top of the mech suit, Jets occasionally wears a black oversized Cynapse-branded jacket held in place by multiple straps. This jacket reaches to her thighs before continuing as a semi-transparent material that covers to a point past her knees. Her jacket collar and cuffs are composed of the same sweater-like material as the mech suit. Over this jacket is a dark purple strap with a white ID holder, and a yellow semi-transparent window displaying her pilot ID card with identifying information.

More casually, Jets also wears a black scuffed Cynapse-branded crop top shirt over a loose black camisole, with purple plaid boxers below. She also occasionally wears round glasses, albeit black instead of the season 1 silver.

She now wears a brown hoodie over her old black sweater vest, now slightly tattered due to age and wear. On the same hoodie, Jets has multiple pins fixed to it. She pairs the hoodie with a short military green skirt and white leg warmers over her black chunky shoes with a white trim.

A set of goggles rests on her head. Jets also has a choker along with a chained-star necklace around her neck.

History[]

Background[]

Jets selected her full name "Jean Faymas" after Googling French guns and deciding she liked the sound of the FAMAS.

2021[]

On 22 August, Jets streamed for the very first time on Twitch, using a static PNG model of her own design.

2022[]

Jets debuted her Season 1 Live2D model on the 18th of February. By the 26th of March, she had reached 1,000 followers, and on her anniversary stream on the 22nd of August, she reached 2,000 followers.

2023[]

An upgraded Season 2 model was due to debut on 6 February, but due to delays with artwork and rigging it was postponed. The model was eventually revealed on-stream on the 18th February, and featured greatly enhanced rigging and expressions, and a wide range of new outfits, stream overlays, backgrounds, and introduction and break music. Less than two weeks later, on the 28th of February, Jets became a Twitch partner.

On 15 March, the formation of the Twitch team "Vershion" (a play on the words "version" and "shion", the Japanese word for "beautiful woman") was announced by Jets on stream. This team consists of herself and her fellow Australian VTubers Hanya, MakoFukasame, and Clio Aite.[1]

On 1 October, she reached 10,000 Twitch followers.

2024[]

On 22 June, Jets debuted her Season 3D model.

Fans[]

  • Jets' followers are collectively known as The Jetpack, and the stream as a whole is referred to as The Jetstream. Each follower is canonically a single jetpackit (jetpaticus domesticartist), a devolved form of the monstrous jetkaiju (jetpaticus kaijudas).
  • They are represented as purple blobs with cat-like head protrusions, a tail, and a love heart birth mark on the rear.
  • They are described as being very soft, blobby and handsome little guys.
  • A portion of The Jetpack label themselves as (Jets') Cherry Boys.

Quotes[]

  • "Hi, I'm Jean Faymas. Known pussy destroyer and babe respecter."[2]
  • "ha-CHOO, FUCK!"
  • "...when I see your mum." (after activating heart eyes)[3]
  • "When I’m not on the internet I exist in the liminal unknown."[4]
  • "Hello, I'm Jets! M-my family is from Germany, who were responsible for the holo... graphic map."[5]
  • Sobbing uncontrollably* "You can't tell I'm crying, I'm a V-Tuber. F-fuck you, you can't tell I'm crying. You cant prove shit, fuck off."
  • "I'm looking for the pp! Has anyone seen my pp? Chat, have you seen my pp? I can't cry, I'm looking for my pp!"

  • Jets' clumsiness in video games extends to real life.
    • She once managed to cut her finger on a piece of dry pasta directly before a handcam art stream, and subsequently decided to wear several decoy plasters so that viewers would not know which finger she had actually cut.
    • On 19 December 2022, while attempting to make Sleepytime tea, Jets accidentally poured scalding water over herself and had to ask a friend to drive her to the emergency room.

    • "Skipitee" - the word Jets uses in place of Skibidi, originally mentioned upon meeting fellow V-Tuber ShimadaTiger
    • "Mega-o-polis" - the pronunciation that Jets refuses to budge from when referencing the movie Megalopolis
    • "Explicifically" - something that is so acutely directed it is both specific and explicit
    • "Granilla" - presumably a granola gorilla, but who knows the mind of this PSYCHOPATH
  • On 22 September 2024, she became one of the only two (estimated) streamers on Twitch, out of approximately 125 total streamers since 2018, to have ever streamed the full 100 endings to unlock the 'secret ending' of Goichi Suda's The 25th Ward: The Silver Case.[7]
  • On 31 October 2024, Jets stated her desire to have "It's so easy to laugh, it's so easy to hate, it takes strength to be gentle and kind" engraved on her tombstone, a quote from Morrissey featured in The Smiths song "I Know It's Over".
