Karisa (狩砂 Shòushā) was a female Chinese Virtual UP (bilibili content creator) from VirtuaReal sixteenth generation alongside Kiyuu, Sybil and Girimi.

| If you asked Karisa just what kind of person she is, she might answer by saying she is a strange person codenamed “KRS”, or perhaps currently cosplaying a young female character who is niche and has a long bird tail. And every time she particularly emphasises, if in the vicinity there appeared an eyewitness about a gigantic bird or perhaps an urban legend, she definitely does not know about it at all; what’s more she does not have any relation whatsoever to the black divine bird from Chinese myth. But the expression in her eyes when she denies it makes it very difficult for people to believe she isn’t hiding something.[2] |

She has pink eyes and long white hair with tinges of black and a black feather on the top, as well as pointed ears that also has a similar tinge in the tips and beauty marks under both her eyes.

Debut[]
On 2 January 2022, the VirtuaReal bilibili and Twitter accounts teased the upcoming Livers with an image of their silhouettes.
On 3 January 2022, VirtuaReal officially announced their sixteenth generation of Virtual Livers, including Karisa, accompanied by a teaser of their designs and profiles.[2] Karisa made her first dynamic post and released her first video, a cover of the VOCALOID song "ヴィラン / flower" on the same day.
On 7 January 2022, VirtuaReal released an announcement trailer for the new VirtuaReal members.
On 12 January 2022, the sixteenth wave made their debuts in a stream relay on bilibili lasting from 19:00 to 23:00 CST, Karisa being the second.[3]
2022[]
On 25 January, the sixteenth generation collabed for the first time and played Pico Park.[4]
On 22 February, Karisa organized the first cover song of the sixteenth generation, 快乐手帐 Happy Notebook.
On 29 May, Karisa, Karon, and Tsukumo submitted a cover of Dry Flower for the VirtuaReal 3rd Anniversary stream.
On 25 June, Karisa revealed her new nurse outfit in an outfit unveiling stream after some technical difficulties.
On 5 August, Karisa's talent profile was added to the NIJISANJI official website, along with the rest of 167 as well as 157, despite it being over 6 months since her debut.
On 16 October, Karisa released a video on bilibili and a post in her dynamic with the video transcript, both entitled 有话要说 (Have something to say), announcing her decision to go on a self-imposed hiatus for an unspecified length of time.
- Karisa stated that ever since she debuted, she has let herself be affected by her viewers' opinions, leading to her trying to become a "perfect version" of herself. Therefore, as she has been unwilling to respond to things she is uncomfortable with e.g. fans crossing boundaries, harrassment has increased, affecting her work and life and has caused her to lose her enthusiasm for streaming.
- She clarified that this did not mean that she will be graduating, but will aim to undergo changes to become more mature.
- She addressed her imflammatory fans by telling them that she refuses to change herself because of them, while apologising to the fans that truly care about her and stating that she hopes that they will wait for her to return in a new and better state.
On 8 December, Karisa returned with a stream.[5]
On 20 December, Karisa participated in the first day of VirtuaReal's Springtime Karaoke Relay.[6]
2023[]
On 9 June, Karisa released a cover of Afterpain of DECO*27/MILGRAM. This was supposed to be her graduation song.[7]
2024[]
Retirement[]
On 31 July, Karisa announced her graduation set for 2 August. All content would be kept.[8]

- Sixteenth generation aka 167 - Karisa, Kiyuu, Girimi, and Sybil. They debut together.
- Karisa and Azusa - Karisa cited Azusa as her favorite senpai when she debut. Thought so far they haven't done any collab.
- Karisa and Nox - They became good friend. Nox recommended Hollow Knights and Valorant to Karisa.
- Karisa and Eine - They sang the 爱你 by Cindy Wong together on Bilibili's Ice & Fire Song Contest.[9]
- Karisa and Awu - Karisa is Awu's vocal mentor and suggested some games for her to stream. Awu was the first liver who Karisa made an attempt to make friend with since her hiatus.

Karisa's fans are called 砂惑星 (Sand Planet). Karisa came up with this name in December 2022 after she returned from a long hiatus. Before the change it was 小砂糖 (Little Sugar).[11]
Miscellaneous[]
- Karisa has two cats. One is named 储备粮 (Reserve food).[12] Once after stream, she forgot to turn off the mic and was caught playing with 储备粮. The clip got over 10k views. The younger cat is named 一般般 (Ordinary).
- Karisa said she didn't have too much input in her nurse outfit, causing the artist to give her big breasts.
