Karu (花留 Huāliú) was a now retired female Chinese Virtual UP (bilibili content creator) from VirtuaReal eighth generation alongside Samael, Mimoi, Shiki and Pax.

If not born to an aristocratic household, a girl as naturally foolish as Karu would already have been deceived away by strange gentlemen everywhere in just a few words. No, aside from those guys assumed to abduct her, perhaps even inexperienced young men who want to secretly pick some flowers from her flower field could twist Karu in circles.
Outside of the tedious aristocratic lessons, Karu would huddle in corners and gently mutter to animals, occasionally holding a gardenia and shouting loudly that she had grown the sturdiest jasmine. This young girl attended by numerous servants knew very little about the surrounding world, so she was completely bewildered by the mockery spoken about her in low voices:
"She's ignorant of the ways of the world, and often says weird things." ...The servant is trembling in fear and unwilling to reply. Maybe a friend of equal status can fix her problem? With such a goal in mind, after several months of hard work on how to position the livestream webcam, Karu has officially embarked on her debut journey.[5]

Debut[]
On 8 April 2020, VirtuaReal announced their eighth generation of Virtual Livers, including Karu, in an article accompanied by their designs and profiles. Karu made her first dynamic and her Weibo account was created on the same day.
On 9 April 2020, Karu released her first video, a speedpaint of herself. Karu made her first Weibo post and her first tweet on the same day.
The eighth generation made their debuts in a stream relay on bilibili split over two days, lasting from 19:00 to 21:00 CST on 25 April and from 19:00 to 22:00 CST on 26 April 2020, Karu being the second at 20:00 CST on 25 April.[6]
2020[]
On 28 May, Karu's 2020 Summertime voice pack went up for sale, lasting until 10 June.[7]
On 25 August, Karu's 2020 Qixi Festival voice pack went up for sale, lasting until 8 September.[8]
On 26 August, Karu achieved 100 captains (i.e. members) on her bilibili channel and was entered into bilibili's hall of fame.[9]
On 24 December, Karu's 2020 Christmas voice pack went up for sale, lasting until 7 January 2021.[10]
2021[]
On 13 February, Karu's 2021 Valentine's Day voice pack went up for sale, lasting until 26 February.[11]
On 10 August, Karu reached 100,000 subscriptions on bilibili.[12]
2022[]
On 20 May, Karu unveiled her costume. The costume includes a sailor-fuku uniform, but with a winter coat and various accessories. The winter coat has a sheep motif. Karu said she spent all of her remaining points on this costume.[13]
On 12 July, Karu announced her upcoming 3D debut scheduled for 18 July in her bilibili dynamic.[14] Later on 16 July, Karu announced the postponement of her 3D debut due to pandemic regulations, simultaneously going on a hiatus.[15]
On 13 November, Karu returned from her hiatus with her 3D stream.
Graduation[]
On 23 November 2022, Karu announced her graduation, stating that over the past two years she had experienced many meaningful things in VirtuaReal, and she is very thankful towards everyone who supported her, not only through happy times but also her growth. Henceforth, she has decided to embark on a greater journey to explore the wider world. Karu initially announced that her graduation stream would be held on 6 December at 20:00 CST. Gifts would stop being received on the 25th.[16]
On 5 December, Karu released a Kanashimi no Lucky Star cover to commemorate her graduation. She also postponed her graduation stream to 8 December the same day.[17]
On 8 December, Karu graduated after the graduation stream.[18] Afterwards, the eighth generation dissolved, which became the first ever generation to dissolve in VirtuaReal.

Miscellaneous[]
- Karu made a stargazy pie during a cooking stream. The smell from the ingredients was so bad that a neighbour reported to the police on suspicion of her hiding a corpse. She ended up helping the policeman that arrived at her house make a bilibili account.[22][23]
- Karu's Weibo location is "overseas".
- Ever since the incident with the police, people joke that her pose of lifting up her skirts looks like she is hiding a corpse with a sheet.
