Koinoya Mai (恋乃夜まい) is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber associated with Propro Production, as part of its second generation of VTubers.

Mai's Twitter account also created in February but made her first tweet on 18 March 2021. Her YouTube channel was created on 16 February, making a small introductory video on 19 March however according to her first tweet her official debut date was on 21 March 2021.[5][6]
2021[]
On 23 March, she reached 7,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[7]
On 26 March, Mai reached 20,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[8]
On 31 March, she reached 50,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[9]
On 5 April, she reached 70,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[10]
On 27 December, Mai reached 200,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[11]
2022[]
On 9 May, her YouTube channel was terminated without warning within hours of it happening to various other VTubers, including Mika Melatika, Kobo Kanaeru, Ibara Muan, Sakuya Tobari and Keyla Estella. The reason YouTube gave for their termination is "severe violations of YouTube's policy on nudity or sexual content." According to the information, it happened while they were streaming, and the appearance of spam messages by bots in their chat box, which triggered YouTube's algorithm.[12]
On 10 May, her YouTube channel was restored.[13]
On 22 May, she held a special stream annoucing the crowdfunding for her 3D model. The ¥3,000,000 goal was reached after 2 hours while she was still streaming.[14]
On 18 August, Mai announced that she would get her second 2D costume.[15]
On 20 August, Mai debuted her second 2D costume. Mai wears a ponytail. In this costume Mai wears a nightgown decorated with a ribbon and a rose. The costume has three variants: black, white and gray. The costume is also compatible with her original hairstyle.[16]
2023[]
On 7 January, during her birthday stream, Mai debuted a new accessory for her second 2D costume. She can wear a silver crown.[17]
Events[]
- On 18 February 2022, Mai and Sakuya Azusa participated with other VTubers in the "VTuber Fes 2022 Ambassador Audition" and won first place on 11 March 2022. Mai and Azusa were given the right to appear in PR videos, live programs, as well as having key visuals, announcement appearances, and character merchandise sales that were related to the event.[18][19]

- Mai's name is possibly a wordplay on the phrase "lovesickness" (恋の病).
