Personality[]
Toru is a typical "cool", "downer"-type girl who has a calm personality almost all the time. However, she can also become loud in a conditional reflex, like when she is surprised. Despite her apparent level-headedness and status as Idios' de facto tsukkomi or straight man, she has proven to be very much NIJISANJI-grade wacky and yabai, for example shocking viewers by openly admitting that she has a fetish for fragrances and ch〇king in her debut stream.
Toru loves menthol and frequently smokes and/or takes mint-flavored tablets, sometimes on-stream; that being said, most of her viewers surprisingly do not notice. Her other well-known vice includes caffeine, such that she always has energy drinks and coffees in her fridge.
Her style of gaming streams is similar to those of Ars Almal and Ibrahim, as she favors a wide range of video games, from highly-competitive ones like Apex Legends, VALORANT, and League of Legends, to ones that require tactics like Pokémon and Genshin Impact, to "slow and steady" ones like Minecraft and Story of Seasons. Even compared to some of her debut-mates, who are also known for long streams, she is one of the most notorious endurance streamers in NIJISANJI; her streams can last an extremely long time, even surpassing the likes of Kanae, Hayama Marin, or Ars Almal, and she takes almost no rest days.
Appearance[]
Toru has short, dull blue-ish grey hair with two hairpins (one is a light purple triangle with black outline and another is a yellow and purple zigzag). Her eyes are purple, with geometrically-shaped highlights and diamond-shaped pupils. She has a beauty mark under her left eye. In her default appearance, she wears a white jacket with purple lining and details. Underneath the jacket, she wears a cropped black camisole layered with a loose sheer black top. She wears a below-knee length black wrap skirt with purple trim. She wears black socks with yellow zigzags and purple legwarmers all tucked into white sneakers with purple accents. Her accessories include a pair of black headphones with purple pads, a black choker with a purple strap pendant, and a black belt with the ◇◆ motif that all of the Idios members share. Options:

Toru's second outfit is a casual nightwear-style outfit, consisting of a white oversized hoodie over a black slip dress, loose short purple socks, and white sneakers. The outfit also came with new hairstyles, both of which are longer than her default style; the first is only slightly longer but has ends that flare out more, while the second is shoulder length. Both hairstyles feature a purple-colored inner layer, a braid behind her left ear, and a more prominent ahoge. |

- "Otsupoya~" (おつぽや~) - Ending
- "20 jikan dattara, futsuka de ikeru na." (20時間だったら、2日で行けるな, If the game clearing time is 20 hours, I can do it in 2 days.)

- "Minna yasumi nano? Kyō. Toru wa ne... Mainichi yasumi. ♡" (みんな休みなの?今日。透はね…毎日休み♡, Did everyone take a day off today? For Toru... every day is a day off. ♡)[34]
- "Kyūkei tte nani? Gohan kyūkei tte koto?" 休憩って何?ごはん休憩って事?, What do you mean, take a break? Do you mean like a food break?)[35]
I've always really loved "Connecting", but if I still lived the life I used to, there's no way I would have ever had anyone to sing it with. That's why, for years I've thought, "one day if I do make friends I'd like to sing it with them" - and then I met my amazing, wonderful debut-mates and said, "I want to sing this... how about for our half anniversary?" and they all said "let's do it". We decided it then, before our debut.)[36]
Trivia[]
Identity[]
Character and Lore[]
- Toru was not always a NEET; she went to elementary school normally, junior high school normally, high school normally, and even university normally - until she dropped out mid-semester and then became a NEET. Since then, she stopped counting her age and no longer remembers the year she was born in.[2]
- Because of her status as a NEET - and after debuting with NIJISANJI, her streaming schedule (she usually starts her streams at 11 PM JST and wakes up not too long before that) - her day-night cycle is almost entirely reversed, something she considers a positive thing.[38]
- In addition to being a NEET, she appears to be a borderline hikikomori. According to Toru, she leaves the house at most around 3 times a month, usually for NIJISANJI-related obligations like recording. As such, her mother praises her just for going to the convenience store that is a mere 3 minute walk from her house.
Name[]
- Her surname Koshimizu is written as 小清水, with 小 (ko) meaning small, and 清水 (shimizu) meaning clear water or spring water.
- Her given name Toru is written as 透, which means clear or transparent.
- As she explained in her debut stream, the inspiration for her fanmark and fan name came from her name bringing to mind the image of "bubbles".[2]

Miscellaneous[]
- Idios' default outfits all feature accessories with a shared ◇◆ motif, all of which are real-life accessories from the brand Dinamis' 23AW / symbol Collection (a brand they later officially became models for). The accessories were designed by Sophia Valentine's illustrator yadapot.[43]
- Toru's accessories include two of Bracelet NBS-2301, with one worn normally around her left wrist and one incorporated into her belt.
- She set the record for the most number of streaming hours out of any YouTube-based VTuber in all of Japan in 2023, with over 2,200 hours logged. Her current consecutive stream time record is 27 hours, 34 minutes, and 35 seconds, set on 2 October to 3 October 2023. Due to YouTube's 12 hour maximum stream length limit, this was spread across three streams.[44][45][46]
- Toru is a self-described habitual smoker.[2] While she used to smoke conventional paper cigarettes (and carried as many as 3 lighters around at once when she did), she now favors IQOS heated tobacco products and IQOS menthol-flavored tobacco sticks.[47]
- She states that she smokes less because she likes the smoke or the nicotine, but rather because she likes the menthol; she has times where she goes without smoking, and when she does smoke she tends to combine it with Clorets menthol mints to double the flavor.[48]
- She began smoking about a week after turning 20.[49]
- Since she rarely walks, her current physical capabilities are abysmal: her muscles start aching after just a few minutes outside; she gets out of breath just from going up a flight of stairs at home; and once when it got hot and she had to take off her outerwear, her arms ached just from carrying her jacket around. Her average number of steps taken per week in February 2023 was 133.[36][50][51]
- During junior high school and high school, she competed as part of the soft tennis club; she even attended a high school specifically for the purpose of competing at a national level in the sport.[52][53]
- She spent her childhood abroad in a non-English-speaking country due to her parents' work. However, she moved back to Japan for elementary school and as such, she can no longer speak any language other than Japanese. Conversely, her parents can speak three languages.[54]
- She lives with her mother,
who is a bit of a cheapskate and uses Toru's computer to charge her phone while her daughter is streaming.[55] - She has a younger brother.[56]
