Kurisu Kowa was a female Virtual YouTuber affiliated with Projek Hikayat. Debuting in April of 2022, she is part of "Chapter 1" alongside talent member: Manika Kuramu.

Kurisu Kowa is a Nian who wished she could make friends with the village people, they scared her away because of her monstrous looks. After hiding for years, she finally emerged as a human girl.[1]

A descendant of the legendary mythical creatures known as Nians, Kurisu Kowa was always an outcast among the other Nians because of her peaceful and friendly nature. Choosing to see humans as friends not food, Kurisu would often try to make friends with the villagers from the nearby town. Seeing her monstrous looks however, the villagers would shoot fireworks at her instead to scare her away.
Heartbroken, Kurisu hid in her cave and cried for a long time...before finally emerging as a human girl! Finding herself lost in the 21st century, Kurisu discovers the internet and gets hooked immediately. She now streams online as a way to feed her growing addiction while making new friends![2]

Kurisu Kowa is a sweet Nian VTuber that likes eating. While she is sweet most of the time, she can be quite savage sometimes - especially to toxic gamers. She has a straightforward personality and is not afraid to voice her opinions.

Her YouTube was created on the 20th February 2022 alongside her Twitter account. On the 15th February, Kurisu Kowa held a debut stream.

On 3 August, Kurisu Kowa was a special guest at KupikupiFM radio-station.[3]
On 22 August, Kurisu Kowa was invited to be on FlyFM, a Malaysian radio-station.[4]
On 21 September, Kowa announced she will be on a 2 week hiatus till the 9th of October.[5]

Retirement[]
On 28 August, Projek Hikayat announced the closure of their Vtuber operations. The following day, Kowa shared her graduation letter through a quote tweet of the announcement. Her graduation date is scheduled for 5 September.
Fans[]
Her fans are called "Nianlings" to represent a smaller version of the mythical creature Nian.[2]
