In his original undead form, Kuro has red undertones in his short, dark hair, red eyes, and a black mouth mask that covers half of his face. His right brow has been pierced. He also wears a black cross earring. His clothes are a black t-shirt with a tear in the front and stitches that fall over his left shoulder to reveal a white pattern on the front of the shirt. His lower torso is bandaged on the left leg and garter belt on the right thigh. He's wearing short black shorts. His white bandages around his neck had dried blood stains. He's clad in a red and black jacket with puffy sleeves and a black hoodie with red ears. He's wearing black boots with silver spikes that reach his ankles.

History

Background

Prior to joining VShojo, Kuro reached out to Ironmouse seeking help with handling a complicated tax situation. She referred him to VShojo's founder Gunrun, who impressed him with the efforts he made to help out. Kuro had planned for several months to debut as an independent VTuber, but instead joined VShojo.

Kuro's Twitch account was created on 30 July 2023. His YouTube account for highlights, clips and VODs was created on the same day. His Twitter account was created on 8 September 2023.

On 24 September 2023, the VShojo Twitter account posted a short video with the hashtag #UndeadK9.

On 27 September, they announced the upcoming debut of a new member, named Kuro. At the same time, Kuro posted his first tweet, consisting of the text "woof...woof...bark...bark? ❤️‍🩹".

Debut

Kuro debuted on Twitch on 30 September 2023 at 6pm PST or 9AM EST. He reached 20,000 followers shortly before debut began, and 40,000 followers by the end of the stream. He reached 1,000 paid subscribers within 4 minutes of going live, 2,000 subs in the first 25 minutes, and over 3,000 by stream end. The September debut allowed viewers to benefit from Twitch's Subtember event, which offered reduced price subscriptions. He also announced a debut merch drop. The stream reached a peak viewership of 34,196.

2023

On 31 December, Kuro debuted his 3D model.

2024

On 15 January, Kuro hosted his first subathon.

On day 11 of the Subathon, he started playing the GTA-RP server, NoPixel, as Balut Bawls.

On 5 February, Kuro held his first facecam stream, which also served as his face reveal. He did this because when he goes to Japan he wants to be able to do vlogs.

On 1 October, Kuro celebrated in 1 year anniversary, re-debuting with lore, and a new pirate model. Many of his previous YouTube videos with his old model were set to unlisted, and relegated to a playlist titled OLD VIDEOS (UNDEAD ERA).

In December, he debuted a Padoru Christmas model made by Calynn Frost / FrogShop on Vgen and rigged by Pipi Slayer.

2025

On 25 January, he debuted a Neko Arc inspired chibi model. The model is illustrated by Zami Saturnine on Vgen and rigged by Pipi Slayer.

On 2 February, he debuted a 3D chibi model, modeled by TomoYo on Vgen and rigged by Pipi Slayer.

On 5 June, he debuted his third model.This model was done by Xeapher and rigged by Pipi Slayer.

Lore (Undead)

• He is referred to as The God of Undead Miracles.
• Kuro is half of a symbiotic duo with a being named Shiro. They were once a singular being - with Shiro working during the day and Kuro at night, but the gods divided them in two due to continuous misuse of their power and were bound to a lake by holy shackles. The pair gained power by taking life force from visitors in exchange for granting wishes. Ten years later after being sealed, Shiro disappeared after granting Kuro's wish for freedom.

Lore (Kaizoku Kuro)

• After Michi found a mysterious magical gun at her thrift shop, she accidentally zapped undead Kuro, which transformed him to his IRL self. Michi kept blasting the gun until it stopped working, having Kuro shuffle through several forms that are all nods to previous forms and random memes. His physical form landed on a pirate look. This Kuro had a more energetic and aloof demeanor and introduced himself as "Kaizoku Kuro, the coolest pirate of the 7 seas." He explains he was trying to find the One Piece, or a "treasure left by Gold Rodger."
  • Kaizoku Kuro is a reference to Kuro's past independent VTuber identity pre-VShojo, Kaizoku Kaito. Undead Kuro is found to have swapped places with Kaizoku Kuro, depicted face-first in a pool of water somewhere.
• Michi then received a text from Gunrun, which asked her to get Kuro on time for stream. Kuro was reluctant and laughed at Michi, insistent that he needed to find the treasure. Michi convinced him by saying that "the One Piece is in VShojo!"
• Michi then taught Kuro how to start stream, saying that if anyone asks about the look, he should say he's cosplaying.
