Lain Paterson (レイン・パターソン) is a Japanese female Virtual YouTuber affiliated with NIJISANJI. She debuted alongside Axia Krone, Lauren Iroas, Leos Vincent, and Oliver Evans, known as the group "Eden-gumi" (エデン組).

Contrary to what one might expect from her appearance, Lain has a more girlish voice and polite, yet somewhat clumsy personality. She also loves puns.

She has long, vibrant crimson hair in a high ponytail and a few black streaks with blonde highlights and silvery grey eyes, though her bangs cover one of them. She has a green camo jacket and dark shorts with suspenders and a white top wrapped around her chest with a knot.

On 19 July 2021, the debuts for Lain, alongside Axia Krone, Lauren Iroas, Leos Vincent, and Oliver Evans were announced, with their streams being held on 22 July 2021.[3]
2021[]
On 23 July, she reached 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[4]
On 30 July, she reached 200,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[5]
On 18 December, she reached 250,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[6][7]
2022[]
On 19 January, she released her first cover "S'il Vous President" by Nanahoshi Kangengakudan featuring back up vocals from her debut mates Axia Krone, Lauren Iroas, Leos Vincent, and Oliver Evans.
On 5 August, Lain debuted her 3D model with hashtag #パタ姐3D got into Twitter Japan trending topic.[8][9] She also released her first original song "Burning charming" afterwards.

2021[]
On 20 October, the third edition of NIJISANJI's collaboration with the dessert buffet chain SWEETS PARADISE was announced, with Axia, alongside the rest of Eden-gumi appearing in the collab.[11] Starting on 22 October, Eden-gumi-themed food and dessert became available, with Lain's being "Lain Paterson's strawberry pancakes" (レイン・パターソンのいちごのパンケーキ) and "Lain Paterson's strawberry milk" (レイン・パターソンのいちごみるく). It was also announced that goods would be sold, consisting of paper place mats and original coasters.[12] On 29 October, it was announced that more goods would be sold, including acrylic stands, badges, T-shirts, etc.[13] On 3 November, printed cakes with designs of the Eden-gumi members became available.[14] On 22 November, it was announced that new goods would be released, including towels, parkers, cushion covers, etc., on 1 December.[15]
2023[]
On 8 April, Lain, along with 19 other select livers around the world, participated in Selen Tatsuki's NIJISANJI Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 tournament, and emerged the champion after last defeating Azura Cecillia.

- "Eden-gumi" (エデン組 Team Eden) - Lain, Axia Krone, Lauren Iroas, Leos Vincent, and Oliver Evans.
- "Usapi" (ウサピー) - Lain, Arurandeisu, and Makaino Ririmu. They all share the same illustrator.
- The name was built by taking a word that describes each of them and jumbling them together. For Lain Paterson it would be shark (same), for Ririmu it would be rabbit (usagi) and for Aruran it would be pizza. From that, Same-Usa-Pizza, Sa-U-Pi and lastly U-Sa-Pi was formed.[16]
- "Lolicorol" (ロリコロール) - Lain , Amamiya Kokoro, and Luis Cammy.
- "Ranacurol" (ラナキュロール) - Lain, Amagase Muyu, Amamiya Kokoro, Umise Yotsuha, Ponto Nei, and Luis Cammy.

- She shares the same character designer as Makaino Ririmu from NIJISANJI, Shiranui Flare from hololive, and Arurandeisu from holostars.
- She calls Ririmu "onee-sama" (お姉さま) because of this.[17]
- Lain and Arurandeisu were both the first two of the Lack family to collab on stream. Aruran stated that their illustrator, Lack, had hoped to one day see his vtuber children collab together. So this collab between Lain and Arurandeisu made Lack's wish came true. Both agreed that it would be great to have a Lack family gathering one day.[18]
- Lain and her fellow VTuber siblings compiled congratulation messages[19] for their illustrator's marriage.[20]
