Minya September is an independent VTuber who streams on Twitch. She plays video games, sings, and occasionally plays acoustic guitar. She speaks both English and Japanese.

Minya has pink hair with light yellow ties, and green eyes. Her artwork has a characteristic thick outline and flat shading.
Her main outfit is a green hoodie. Her second outfit is a short-sleeved purple ninja outfit, although Minya is not a ninja; it's just a costume.

Background[]
Minya's Twitch account was created on 23rd August 2019.[1] Her earliest known stream was made on 24 August, where she played Monster Hunter: World to a peak audience of 10 viewers.[2] She became Twitch affiliate on 17 December 2019, and began streaming regularly from the beginning of 2020.
Minya did not originally intend to be a VTuber.[3] While seeking Twitch affiliate status, she commissioned an original character art to use as an avatar, in order to avoid using a copyrighted character. On 5 March 2020, she revealed a piece of character art by gryphin1424, in an iconic thick-outlined style.[4] This was followed on 6 June 2020 by another art of the character by the same artist.[5]
Minya had the first piece of art turned directly into a VTuber avatar.[3] Its first recorded appearance is in Minya's second-oldest VOD in an Escape From Tarkov stream on 22 July 2020. Minya has yet to hold an official debut stream for her avatar.
2020[]
On 15 July, Minya became Twitch partner.
On 25 August, Minya revealed a new ninja-style costume.[6] Its invention was originally an accident. For a collab stream with Leaflit, Minya had an artist friend modify the original art, because she felt the folded arms looked too bossy. However, the artist misinterpreted folds in the hoodie sleeves as representing as a short-sleeved hoodie with long under sleeves. Minya felt this looked like a ninja, and the artist subsequently drew her as a ninja. Minya had this integrated into her VTuber avatar.[3]
Over Halloween, Minya temporarily used a variant of her character model with vampire-like red eyes.
On 13 December, Minya described plans to have a new model made. She felt the original character concept was too generic, and her original models lacked a lower half. While the ninja costume was popular with fans, Minya's plan was to return to the original Minya costume but make the character a vampire.[3] She later decided the new model would be a ninja instead, although this model was not made.[7]
Minya's top played games this year were Escape from Tarkov, Fall Guys, Dead by Daylight, and Phasmophobia. She streamed 1,394 hours.
2021[]
On 26 May, she announced the version 1.5 of her Live2D model. The design of this new model was the same as her original model, although she no longer had the ability to change into the ninja outfit.
Minya's top played games in 2021 were Pokémon Unite, Back 4 Blood, Escape from Tarkov, and Dead By Daylight. She streamed 2,092 hours.
2022[]
Minya's top played games of 2022 were Grand Theft Auto V, Splatoon 3, Mahjong Soul, and Pokémon Unite. She streamed 1,573 hours.
2023[]
In 2023, Minya began to focus her streaming efforts on Grand Theft Auto RP and Japanese-language content. Around August, she began a notable rise in popularity.
On 28 October, Minya debuted her new Minya 2.0 Live2D model.
On 15 November, she reached 50,000 Twitch followers.

- Minya chose her first name in the hope that it would sound Russian, as she frequently played Escape From Tarkov. Her surname September was chosen to be easily memorable, and refers to her birth month.
- Minya's Twitter account, @Minya_923, refers to her date of birth, 23 September (9/23).
- Her favorite games include Escape From Tarkov, Dead by Daylight, Rocket League, Sea of Thieves, Chrono Trigger, Ōkami, moon, undertale, Stardew Valley, and To The Moon.
