Mitwun (ミトゥン) is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber and model. Starting her VTuber activities as an independent in 2021, she is also a former member of the disbanded VTuber agency Blast Project. She is currently one half of the music duo U22 together with Delutaya.

She mainly does FPS game streams and singing streams.

Appearance[]

Mitwun has long white hair in the jellyfish cut hairstyle, and eyes with dark red irises.

For her original design, she wears a loose white shirt over a black top and jean shorts. She wears a necklace with a cross pendant. On her legs are a pair of black kneesocks worn beneath a pair of tall black lace-up boots.

Mitwun's YouTube channel was created on 3 August 2019 and her Twitter account was created in September 2019.

2021[]

On 3 April, Mitwun announced her debut as a VTuber.[3] She did her first stream as a VTuber on YouTube, referring to this as her first virtual stream in the title.[4] Her 2D model was illustrated and rigged by Akari Yuki.[5]

On 9 May, for Mother's Day she tweeted her appreciation for her character designer (often considered a VTuber's "mama" in the context of VTubing), Akari Yuki on the VTuber hashtag #ママが好きVtuber大感謝祭 ("#MamagasukiVtuberDaiKanshasai" ).[6]

On 1 June, she debuted her 2nd costume. She refers to herself as a new VTuber in the title.[7]

2022[]

On 14 January, Mitwun uploaded her cover of "Marshall Maximizer" (マーシャルマキシマイザー) by Hiiragi Magnetite feat. KAFU.

On 5 April, she joined the VTuber agency Blast Project as one of its first VTubers, together with Kirschtorte who was also formerly an independent VTuber like her.

On 28 August, she premiered her cover of "Seasons die one after another" (季節は次々死んでいく, Kisetsu ha tsugitsugi shindeiku) by amazarashi.

On 1 October, she celebrated her birthday, debuting her 3rd costume: a frilly black-and-red two-piece checkered dress with a cat ear cap.[8]

On 3 October, she held a parody debut stream on YouTube, playing the role of a "new" VTuber doing her "first stream," more than a year after actually starting her VTuber activities.[1]

2023[]

On 23 April, Mitwun debuted her 4th costume, a black gothic-style frilly dress with butterfly prints and lots of small openings intersected by black strings.[9]

On 31 July, her single and first original song "Zettaiteki♥Kimi Izonshou" (絶対的♥キミ依存症) was released digitally on various music services.[10]

On 1 August, she premiered the official MV of Zettaiteki♥Kimi Izonshou.

On 1 October, it was announced that she has formed the music unit U22 together with the independent VTuber Delutaya.

On 30 October, her duet with Delutaya, a cover of "Ended Up Dead" (死んでしまったんだ, Shindeshimattanda) by Sheeno Mirin feat. KAFU and Yuzuki Yukari, premiered on U22's YouTube channel.

2024[]

On 10 March, she had an Apex collab stream with Tosaki Mimi and Ak1to.[11] As of June 2025, this is the last public stream where she used her 2D model.

On 1 April, Blast Project officially announced that it has ceased operating as a VTuber agency, transitioning their operations into a talent agency named "yokaze agent". Existing contracts for all remaining talents will continue under yokaze agent.[12]

On 2 April, Mitwun announced that she has left Blast Project, returning to being an independent VTuber and that for work purposes, she will be dealing with yokaze agent (the talent agency succeeding Blast Project) through her own company.[13]

On 29 November, she did a talk stream after a 5-month streaming hiatus where among other things, she confirmed that she has indeed become a real-life idol.[14] As of June 2025, this is her last public stream.

  • On 30 August 2021, Mitwun participated in the Battlefield V BFJ Streamer Cup tournament as Team A's Squad Charlie along with Kaminari Qpi, Mirage Bomber, and Bosna.[15]
  • On 23 November 2021, she participated in the 3rd edition of the "Reignite Cup" Apex tournament as part of team "fxxking girl's♡" along with Selen Tatsuki and Qualia Qu. The team took 12th place in the overall ranking.[16]
  • On 16 December 2021, she participated in the 49th edition of Shibuya HAL's weekly "ShibuHAL Custom" Apex tournament as part of team "Maybe Tomodachi" (Maybe 友達) along with Tosaki Mimi and Ak1to. The team placed 1st in the ranking for Match 2, winning a JPY 9,000 prize.[17]
  • On 8 September 2022, Mitwun participated in the 78th edition of the "ShibuHAL Custom" Apex tournament as part of team "Tropical Twuncaron" (トロピカルトゥンカロン) along with Nekomugi Tororo and Akami Karubi. The team placed 3rd in the ranking for Match 1.[18]
  • On 15 September 2022, she participated in the 79th edition of the "ShibuHAL Custom" Apex tournament as part of team "NaCapTwun" (ナキャプトゥン) along with NaYuta and Cpt. The team placed 1st in the ranking for Match 1, winning a JPY 9,000 prize.[19]
  • On 25 November 2022, she participated in the 3rd edition of the "JOZ Cup" Apex tournament, reforming team "Tropical Twuncaron" along with Nekomugi Tororo and Akami Karubi. The team took 17th place in the overall ranking.[20]

  • "NaCapTwun" (ナキャプトゥン), along with NaYuta and Cpt.

Miscellaneous[]

  • Mitwun doesn't mind actually showing off her real-life face and appearance, and she openly shows it in her YouTube Short clips and her tweets. Although she has already revealed her face, she still considers herself to be a VTuber, similar to Kson from VShojo.
    • She has also cosplayed her VTuber model before,[21] even creating a YouTube Short & TikTok clip that joked about her getting an accidental face reveal on stream, only to show that she looks very much like her Live2D model.
    • She often describes herself as "going back and forth between the virtual and real worlds" in her profiles, and in the real world she also works as a model aside from being a music artist.
  • A typical Mitwun greeting is 'Twunbanwa! Mitwun death! (トゥンばんは！ミトゥンdeath！) which is her spin on the typical Japanese greeting (e.g. Konbanwa! Mitwun desu!), where the English word "death" replaces "desu" because it apparently sounds cooler that way.
  • She also once auditioned for Vhigh! (another agency under yokaze Inc.) as "Mitwun-sensei," but ultimately she became one of the first members of Blast Project.
  • On 21 October 2024, Mitwun announced that she has joined a real-life idol group called Maison de Queen.[22]
    • On 13 February 2025, she graduated from Maison de Queen, as per her announcement on 23 January.[23]
