Muda Utsuro is an independent Japanese VTuber who streams on YouTube and Twitch.

Utsuro began streaming in 2019 as part of the duo Utsuowa, consisting of herself (te purple one) and Maji Owari (the yellow one). In 2022, Owari withdrew from the project, leaving Utsuro as a solo VTuber going forward.

Background[]

The Utsuowa channel YouTube channel was created on 22 May 2019. The channel originally featured the duo Muda Utsuro (無田 虚) and Maji Owari (万寺 堕).

The earliest known content posted to the channel is a duet song cover of Happy Synthesizer, posted on 14 July 2019.

2020[]

On 17 May, the duo held a 1-year anniversary stream.

2021[]

On 30 January, Utsuro's Twitch channel was created.

On 30 December, Utsuro and Owari appeared as one of several singers in the farewell song Tabimachi no Hi ni, marking the graduation of VTuber Akane Homura.[1]

2022[]

On 31 January, Maji Owari announced her retirement from VTubing.[2] The Utsuowa channel continued with Muda Utsuro as a solo VTuber, renaming the duo's YouTube channel from Utsuowa channel to Utsupoyo channel.

2025[]

On 21 January, Utsuro reached 1,000 Twitch followers.

In April, Utsuro reached 4,000 YouTube subscribers.

  • Originally, the channel's title image featured the manji, a Buddhist symbol which is not used in the west due to its resemblance to the swastika. The manji was associated with Owari, while a Christian cross was associated with Utsuro.
