NekoNayah (also known as Neko or Nayah) is an independent Brazilian Portuguese-based VTuber who streams on Twitch and TikTok and videos on YouTube and TikTok. They also post arts and irl photos on Instagram. The name of the character they streams with is NekoNayah, derivated from their real name "Neko Nayah Mendes Martins." They are a Koya, a species designed and written by themself.

Personality[]
Neko can be described as a mix of pure chaos and coziness. Despite facing challenges related to being neurodivergent and managing mental health conditions, they demonstrate resilience and strength. Neko is dedicated to their passions, whether in content creation or supporting their community, and always strives to be there for those they care about.
Neko faces several mental health challenges, including generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, ADHD, social phobia, giftedness, and autism.[1] Due to this, they doesn't leave the house much. However, Neko channels their energy into creative endeavors, like drawing and/or VTubing in live streams and videos as a way to connect with others, reduce feelings of impotence, and bring comfort to people.
At the same time, they are a chaotic warm-hearted joker, trying to make people laugh as a way to feel useful and overcome their struggles. NekoNayah usually experiences anxiety attacks before starting streams, and shutdowns after ending them, but always trying to keep a good sense of humor, because they love what they do, after all.

Their model has green fur with dark green under-eye circles, long ears shaped similarly to the githyanki species, a square snout and sharp teeth, wearing grillz on the left canine and second premolar, and their tongue is forked at the tip. On the eyes, NekoNayah's sclera is yellow, with white irises and red pupils. They have long red hair in a hime cut, with two front braids and one enormous back braid that has a spring around it. They wear a yellow hat with long yellow arms of an undefined animal only on the front part of the head. The hat is attached to the hair with a pin. Additionally, NekoNayah has two reddish horns.
Their scarf is a worn yellow measuring tape, and their outfit is divided into two pieces: the top piece is a brown poncho made from old fabric found in a landfill, with a pin featuring the non-binary flag, a permanent heart-shaped stain in a darker brown tone, and three Favolus Brasiliensis mushrooms growing from it. The bottom piece is a rolled-up leaf secured with a purple button, serving as a skirt. Their body below the head has brown fur with green fur in specific areas and two bat wings that remain hidden under the clothing. Their legs are like elk legs with green hooves. Additionally, they have a long tail with green and orange feathers at the end. Neko usually decorates their tail with found items, such as small beads and sometimes a can tab. Like all members of the koya species, NekoNayah does not have reproductive organs.
History[]
2022[]
On 19 July Neko streamed on Twitch for the first time. This was a Stray gameplay session, long before they became a VTuber or had any plans of pursuing full-time streaming.
2023[]
On 3 May, Neko started streaming on TikTok every day from 7 PM to 11 PM.
On 19 July, during a Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach livestream, they were banned from the TikTok live studio due to mass transphobic reports, which triggered a bot ban. On that day, they switched the stream to Twitch to continue playing, but experienced an anxiety attack.[2]
On 30 August, Neko created another TikTok account, but shifted focus to creating videos instead of livestreams. They gradually stopped opening livestreams every day, reducing the frequency of their streams over time.
They averaged 3-10 viewers.
2024[]
On 13 May, Neko appeared on YouTube with a VTuber model, without an official debut. They commissioned a self-insert VTuber model with Retsu because they needed to feel more comfortable when recording videos. Neko struggled with looking at the camera and speaking directly, so they commissioned the VTuber to help express themselves and feel more at ease.
On 16 May, Neko made their official debut on YouTube, showcasing their VTuber model and introducing themselves. It was revealed that being a VTuber had always been a dream, but they hadn’t pursued it until they started recording videos and found it difficult to express themselves due to nervousness about the camera. They mentioned that when streaming live, they didn’t even notice the camera.
On 12 July, Neko debuted their pet Karlos Halberto, and began sharing more of their lore.[3]
On 28 August, Neko redebuted on YouTube with a showcase of their new model, created by themself.[4]
2025[]
Sometime in February, Neko returned to livestreaming, but without a set schedule. They only streamed when they felt up to it, on random dates and at various times. They also started making more videos for YouTube, as TikTok had been their main channel.
On 1 April, Neko started a live stream playing There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension with a meme PNGTuber model and a fake PNG background to celebrate April Fools'. It was their first appearance as a PNGTuber.
On 8 August, Neko made a redebut on Twitch.tv, showcasing their new model design and story, while playing Roblox,

Koyas are creatures created as a cry for help from the planet, given deforestation, pollution (air, water, and soil), the greenhouse effect and consequent climate changes, species extinction, and habitat degradation occurring on Earth. Through magic and desperation, they appear in almost inhospitable environments and do their best to clean them before roaming the world. Once a koya exists, they seek to find their role in the world while practicing recycling, taking care of plant and animal species, cleaning very dirty places, purifying water, etc. However, they cannot do everything alone and are seen almost like cockroaches by humans, while they, in turn, see humans as disgusting insects who only pollute and degrade the environment. Every koya has a completely distinct appearance from the others (as NekoNayah encourages creating original characters of their species) and all can be considered furries. The entire species and story were created as a way to raise awareness and promote ecology.
NekoNayah is no different: a koya who lives in the forest and reuses objects to make their clothes, accessories, and their own home. Like all koyas, they have the ability to grow and shrink, reaching up to 3 meters tall or as small as 1 centimeter (but like all koyas, they can’t stay that way for long, since changing their own size — or the size of other living creatures — consumes a lot of energy, while changing object's size is okay and can be permanent), though their base size is 5 centimeters. Additionally, every koya can have a unique special power, and in NekoNayah’s case, it is to give life to an object. This cannot be used on living beings or things that were once alive (for example, corpses or plants). Under their clothes, they have bat wings, and found it very difficult to handle things with just their wings, so they sewed a hat with long arms and gave life to it. However, their power does not give life and consciousness, but rather “life” in the sense of making an object an extension of their own body, allowing them to control their hat mentally as they would any other limb. Unconsciously, when they blink, the hat’s eyes blink too. Neko can also see through the hat’s eyes.
On their first day of life, NekoNayah found a worn-out blue fox plush and restored it. They have kept it ever since, as an emotional comfort plush called Rapousa. Some time later, they found a juice box and adapted it to use as a backpack occasionally, securing it with a diaper pin, and whenever they leave home, they always take Rapousa with them inside the backpack.
