Oninosuzu Rin (おにのすずりん、鬼ノ鈴燐) is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber.

Personality[]

Rin is a very cheerful person and loves to meet new viewers. She occasionally hums when focusing on the game during streams and she giggles a lot without knowing. Rin loves drinking so much she tends to drink alcohol everyday and occasionally gets drunk during stream.[1]

Rin initially did not think about streaming in English despite her fluency. It was her illustrator mother (Yuruico) who encouraged her to be a global streamer and gave her a push. Since then she had found rapid success and tries to maintain a balance of Japanese and English viewers in her community.[1]

She usually greets people in the morning "おはよう" (ohayou) with a combination of her name "鈴" (suzu) resulting in "おはすず (ohasuzu). She does the same for good night "おやすみ" (oyasumi) as "おやすず" (oyasuzu).

Rin respects her mother (illustrator) Yuruico a lot and is excited to talk about her whenever she is in her chat room. She started streaming Final Fantasy 14 (FF14) with Mama and since then, she has regular FF14 streams solo or in collaboration with Yuruico.

She has long pinkish slightly wavy hair with horns and fiery orange eyes.

2020[]

On 1 December (JSP), Rin announced the project Vtuber Singing Collab. The project name is Vocaloid Bossa Nova Medley ~ Vtuber World Collaboration ~, it included 26 short vocaloid cover songs by 26 Vtubers from 8 different countries and premiered on 25 December.[2]

On 28 December, she announced on her Twitter account that she will no longer be part of Yuruico family. As a result Rin would stop using her current model and design. However, she clarified that she would not retire or reincarnate, that she would get a new model in 2021 and temporarily she would stream without an avatar.[3]

2021[]

On 5 March, Rin's held her redebut stream.

On 3 April, Rin one year anniversary.[4]

On 8 September, Rin announced the project Vtuber World Collaboration 2021, still 25 singers (24 Vtubers from 10 different countries and 1 rapper Otaku). The Singers Reveal video was released on 12 September and the song will be released on 25 September in a future announcement.[5]

On 24 December, Rin revealed her 3D model.[6]

2022[]

On 23 February, Rin reached 10,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during a stream.[7][8]

On 4 April, Rin celebrated her birthday and 2nd year aniversary. During the stream, she released her first original song "Oni suzu-gumi arigato no uta ～Thank you Onibells～", composed by 1TBeats, and the lyrics by herself.

On 7 June, she announced that she would be taking a break from 13 June to 30 June.[9]

On 15 August, she released her third original song "Pa ̄ tto Kagayaku Yume Hanabi," which she performed with Hatsune Miku, a Vocaloid character.[10]

On 3 December, Rin release her second original song "The Frog-San Who Lives Behind My Shrine~."

Name[]

  • Her name came from her appearance design.[11]
    • 鬼 (oni) means demon/yokai as shown from her race,
    • 鈴 (suzu) means bells as shown from the three bells she has, one on each horn and one around her neck. She also has two more ear piercings barely visible hidden behind her hair.
    • 燐 (rin) comes from the sound that bells make as described in Japanese

Likes and dislikes[]

  • Her favourite anime include "Madoka Magica", "Space Dandy", "Macross Frontier" and "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann".[12]
  • Her favourite food is sushi.[13]
  • She loves drinking Japanese alcohol お酒 (o sake) and tends to drink every night
  • Her all-time favourite monster from "Monster Hunter" series is "Rathalos".[14]
  • Her favourite liquor includes "Highball" and "OniLemon".[1]
