Prima Project is an independent VTuber group consisting of several ex-PRISM Project talents.[1] It was announced on 2 June 2024, following the shutdown of PRISM Project on 31 March 2024.[2]

On 2 March, Sony Music Entertainment Japan announced that PRISM Project would cease operations after 31 March. All active PRISM talents became independent and had the rights to their characters transferred to them.[2]
On 2 June, several former members of PRISM (Hoshifuri Iku, Tokimori Aoi, Kamishiro Rita, Miyoshino Shiki, Pengin Pina, Amami Ami, Akane Jun, Mako Sameshima, and Nana Asteria) performed an Ex-PRISM Comeback Concert at the OffKai Gen 3 convention.[3] At the end of the concert, they acknowledged that the term "ex-PRISM" was clunky, and so announced that they would be rebranding the group to Prima Project.[1] OffKai's official schedule had in fact accidentally spoiled the announcement by mentioning "Prima" (though not "Prima Project"), in two events, without context.[4][5] However, it's unclear how widely these partial spoilers were noticed before the announcement.

As of 15 June 2024, Prima Project itself doesn't appear to have any internet presence, so there's no official members list. It's unclear from the original announcement whether all of the ex-PRISM talents had actively "joined" Prima.
