Projek Hikayat is a Malaysian based VTuber agency that was started in 2021 with the aim of telling creative and cultural stories to the world.
The name Projek Hikayat comes from the word "Hikayat", meaning fables, legends or stories in their native language. From this, their talents are inspired by the various stories unique to their own individual cultures they come from.

Projek Hikayat initially had generations but, as of January 2023, talents are now reorganized into chapters which ties into their themes.
On 29 January 2023, Projek Hikayat's Chapter Two auditions were announced.

2021[]
In March, the agency started their activity on Twitter and Facebook. Shortly after, their first auditions were held.[1]
On 20 May, their first audition ended.[2]
On 11 August, they teased their first talent. Soon after, Duroppu Charming, their first talent, debuted on the 28th of the same month.[3]
On 18 September, Durroppu was feature BFM radio.[4]
On 31 October, they teased their second talent, Manika Kuramu, on their social media with a short video.[5]
On 6 November, Manika Kuramu debuted. Shortly after the debut stream, Manika announced their 2nd round of auditions followed by tweets from the official Projek Hikayat's Twitter.[6]
On 3 December, Duroppu and Manika were special guests at Cosplay Commuter Chibi.[7]
On 11 December, Duroppu announced her immediate departure from Projek Hikayat, Duroppu would leave with the Live2D model, YouTube and Twitter accounts as these originally belonged to her.[8][9]
2022[]
On 6 January, their 2nd auditions ended.[10]
On 22 March, they teased their newest talent, Kurisu Kowa, with a series of post revealing bit by bit.[11]
On 4 April, they announced their official Projek Hikayat Discord server.[12]
On 9 April, their newest talent, Kurisu Kowa, held her debut stream.[13]
On 31 May, they launch their official Projek Hikayat website.[14]
On 27 June, they were invited to be part of KupikupiFM's annual concert.[15]
On 26 August, The team met up with Emirichu, and welcomed her to Malaysia.[16]
On 27 August, Projek Hikayat had a booth at AniMangaki 2022.[17]
On 8 September, The team was invited to the ICCS2022 by the Singaporean Government.[18]
On 5 December, They announced they will be attending HobbyCon2022.[19]
2023[]
On 21 January, they released a new project called "Hikayat's Melodi" along side their cover of Discommunication Alien.[20]
On 12 June, Projek Hikayat announced that Kuramu would be graduating and going independent on 15 June.[21]
2025[]
Closing of Talent Division[]
On 28 August, Projek Hikayat announced the closure of their Vtuber Division operations and rebranding to "Hikayat Doujinshi Studio Sdn. Bhd."[22] Regarding their two talents prior to the announcement, Aozaaki Maeena and Kurisu Kowa, Mae will continue working together with management under a revised contract aimed at securing the full IP rights of her model,[23] while Kowa will be graduating on 5 September.[24]
