Their real name is Sengawa Midori. Despite their looks, Ryushen is of Japanese descent. Their gender is undisclosed. They love to sing and would like to make some friends through live streaming.[1][2]

Ryushen has a calm, cool character and singing voice. Their first goal after becoming a VTuber was to make 100 friends.
Ryushen has a slightly eccentric personality that makes it difficult for them to make friends in school. They have an abundance of self-confidence, particularly regarding their looks and singing ability. At the same time, they worry that others will not love them in the same way they love themselves. Ryushen has many unique interests, including their love of 1980s songs and anime. As a result, they tend to bond with the adult members in NIJISANJI over shared references.[3]

Ryushen has long, vibrant green hair worn in a braid and purple eyes. In their default costume, they wear a Chinese-inspired traditional outfit with black pants and a white jacket slumped off their shoulders. They have pierced ears and wear gold and red tassel piercing in their left ear.
In promotional materials, Ryushen holds a panda stuffed animal against their chest. In their 3D model, Ryushen takes off their jacket, revealing a sleeveless, black crop top underneath. They have received several alternate outfits, all of which feature a black and white color scheme.[3]

2018[]
On 13 December, Ichikara Inc. announced that NIJISANJI Gamers and NIJISANJI SEEDs would merge with NIJISANJI by the end of the month.[4] As a result, Ryushen is now officially affiliated with NIJISANJI.
2019[]
On 2 October, Ryushen made their 3D model debut at the concert event NIJISANJI Music Festival - Powered by DMMM Music but didn't hold their official 3D model YouTube livestream until 23 November. Soon afterwards, Ryushen released their first original song "Evergreen (エヴァーグリーン)."
2020[]
On 13 May, Ryushen debuted in the new NIJISANJI music unit "Rain Drops," which is signed under the major music record label Virgin Records (Universal Music Group). The other members in this unit are Elu, Warabeda Meiji, Joe Rikiichi, Saegusa Akina and Suzuki Masaru.
2022[]
In February, Ryushen released their first album "It's Lie" on various music platforms.
On 14 September, Ryushen revealed the 3.0 update to their Live2D model.[5]
2021[]
On 22 September, Ryushen announced that they will be appearing on AuDee CONNECT as one of their radio personality for the first time which airs on TOKYO FM every tuesday.[6][7]
2022[]
On 25 October, Ryushen reached 600,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel.[8]

On 2 October 2019, Ryushen participated in the concert event "NIJISANJI Music Festival - Powered by DMMM Music", in which they appeared in 3D for the first time.
On 9 February 2020, Ryushen performed at the Zepp Sapporo venue as part of the concert tour "NIJISANJI JAPAN TOUR 2020 Shout in the Rainbow!".[9]
On 14 August 2022, Ryushen and Seffyna held "NIJI Melody Time", a NIJISANJI singing relay collaboration event. The event would take place continuously for 24 hours with the participation of 48 members, starting at 8 pm JST on 27 August by Seffina and ending by Ryushen the next day.[10]
As mentioned in their profile, Ryushen's real name is Sengawa Midori (仙河緑). Other Livers often call Ryushen "Midori".
Ryushen likes to sing and has uploaded over 150 cover songs as well as many original songs.
Ryushen has streamed three consecutive streams amounting to 13 hours in which they sang 500 songs in September 2018. They have also held an endurance stream where they sang 100 Vocaloid songs but it has since been taken down. In light of this, they held another endurance stream in May 2021.
Ryushen has a sub channel they use as a gaming channel.
Ryushen shares the same character designer with Harusaki Air.
