Yononaka[3] Seiya (星也/Xīng yě) was a male Chinese Virtual UP (bilibili content creator) affiliated with VirtuaReal, under VirtuaReal Project, as part of its seventh generation alongside Yukie and Saya.

Contrary to his current appearance, Seiya is an otaku in the genuine sense; maybe using a title like "Otaku God" to define him will be somewhat more accurate.
He is the most interested in pursuing the truth of the ACG way, dipping into areas spanning anime, games, and manga. To outsiders his time apparently looks to be inexhaustible no matter what, in yet contrast that unfading research spirit of his, as a university teacher he basically gives free reigns to his students.
Although Seiya gives very little guidance to those of his own students that are slacking, he very much likes to lecture others in his own areas of expertise. While considering it necessary for himself to correct the current atmosphere and bring the true otaku spirit back to the right track, he consequently chose to debut.[4][1]

He has short, light blue hair with dark grey round glasses and light blue eyes. He wears a grayish office worker outfit with blue accents and a striped blue tie with a silver clip.

Background[]
On 14 January 2020, VirtuaReal announced their seventh generation of Virtual Livers, including Seiya, in an article accompanied by their designs and profiles. Seiya made his first dynamic on the same day.
On 17 January 2020, Seiya released his first video, a self-introduction.
On 21 January 2020, the seventh wave made their debuts in a stream relay on bilibili from 20:00 to 21:20 CST, Seiya being the first.[5]

On 12 March, Seiya's White Day voice pack was announced.[6]
On 15 March 2020, Seiya participated in Eine's White "Murder" Day collaboration.[7]
On 1 April, last stream before his hiatus.
On 16 April, last post before disappearing for over seven months.
On 23 December, Seiya posted online after over seven months of inactivity, in response to birthday wishes from VirtuaReal. He stated that it would be difficult for him to stream in the near future, but after discussing with staff he would like to return one day.[8]
2022[]
Retirement[]
On 25 November, after almost two years of inactivity, Seiya apologized for neglecting his streaming duties. He also announced that 29 November would be the day of his graduation from VirtuaReal as well as the day of his last stream, "Shirking Is Shameful but Useful" (逃避可耻但是有用), in which he would talk about some things he had put off for too long. Seiya stated his wishes for viewers to avoid sending him gifts during his graduation stream so that they could support the new VirtuaReal Livers instead. He further mentioned that although it was not his place to say, he still hoped that everyone could find success with their studies or work, and that the VTubers they liked would become popular and "not to support people like [him]". All of the content on Seiya's bilibili channel will be preserved.[9]
During his graduation stream, Seiya read out questions and chatted with his viewers. He explained his absence as being a combination of pressure, working a full-time job and being overall unsuited to be a streamer.[10]

Miscellaneous[]
- When it comes to streaming, he's okay with anything apart from singing, e.g. games, free talks, answering questions.[3] He is a rare exception in VirtuaReal due to the fact he cannot sing.
- He implied that Shiki was a senior colleague at the same university.[11]
- He has only streamed five or six times, making him the second least frequent streamer in NIJISANJI after Kataribe Tsumugu, including:
- His debut stream.
- His second stream after 39 days.
- Participating in the White Day collaboration hosted by Eine.
- His Marshmallow question answering stream (no archive, but clipped: [1] [2] [3]).
- His last stream before his long hiatus.
- His graduation stream over two years later.
- His long absence became a running joke in VirtuaReal. When he was brought up, people often responded with "Who this?" "A new VR member?" and other similar comments.[12][13]
- The date of the last dynamic he posted before his hiatus (2020/12/23) came up as a question in the 2022 VirtuaReal Gaokao.[14]
- Due to his extended hiatus, the seventh wave have never collaborated together.
