Tenma Maemi (天満 マエミ), casually called Mii-chan, is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber and a member of Phase-Connect, debuting as part of its First Generation alongside Rinkou Ashelia, Pipkin Pippa, Fujikura Uruka, Hakushika Iori, Shisui Michiru and Utatane Nasa. She mainly speaks English in her streams.

Profile

Tenma is a mysterious little fox claiming to be a college student. She appears to be smart, kind and innocent, but harbors an unexplained fixation on a particular rabbit.

Personality

Tenma is a dynamic streamer who likes having fun with her viewers and streaming partners. Depending on the game she is streaming, she is often putting special assets on her own avatar. For example, she likes disguising as a character from the said game. During her last stream on South Park: The Stick of the Truth, she even used for this occasion a full customized South Park character-like avatar.

She enjoys teasing everybody around her at any occasion through many ways, such as proposing strange ideas, telling spicy stories about her life, gaslighting, and acting toxic during competitions.

Tenma has anger issues, which on one occasion caused her to break her (already damaged) controller while playing Shadow of the Colossus. Her reactions generally can be intense, particularly if she gets caught by surprise; such as the sudden NSFW scenes in the South Park game series which caused several blood-curdling screams.

When faced with difficult challenges, she often swears extensively until she manages to do what she wants, or until she gives up. She likes pretending to be a tyrant toward her audience. When she realizes one of her chat members or fellow Phase-Connect members is trying to trick her, she often jokingly replies to them in a rude or threatening way.

She has her own unique sense of what is supposed to be romantic. Sometimes, she can be seen aggressively flirting with an attractive female NPC in a game or another female VTuber, but she also especially likes muscled men. She often jokes about that by mentioning her dream is to create an army of naked, muscled men.

Appearance

Tenma is particularly short, measuring only 130cm (4'3") including her ears. She has white hair in a bob cut and a pair of white fox ears with grey tips. She has two pink bead-like ornaments in her bangs, located immediately next to her eyes. Her outfit consists of a striped black-and-white work shirt with a short white tie, a khaki sweater, a white skirt, grey stockings, and white boots with pink trim, as well as a removable dark gray hoodie with pink trim and metal plates. Her cat, Theo, usually sits on her shoulder.

History

Background

On 20 June 2021, Tenma debuted on YouTube.

2022

On 28 April, Tenma celebrated her 30,000 subscribers with an unarchived karaoke with only English songs.

Her channel reached 40,000 subscribers on 9 July.

On 08 August, her channel reached 50,000 subscribers.

On 17 August, Tenma debuted a new Office Worker themed outfit, complete with glasses and a notepad to jot down notes.

2023

On 30 March, Tenma's YouTube channel hit 100,000 subscribers, establishing her as the second Phase-Connect member to reach the milestone.

On 7 May, She debuted her Tenma 2.0 model, which allowed her to take her jacket off.

2024

On 21 September, Her Channel hit 200,000 Subscribers

• On 9 March 2022, OffKai Expo's Twitter account announced that Tenma Maemi and many VTubers would appear as guests in "OffKai Expo" which would be held from 29 April to 1 May.

Mascots and Fans

• Her fanbase is called "Kanpainiki".
• Since she saw she was mistaken as a Canadian on her Fandom wiki page because her YouTube account was located in Canada (which she explained is because their accounts were created by their CEO, who is Canadian), Tenma and her community adopted this mistake as a running gag. This is why her fans like to call her "Canadian" or even "Mrs. Worldwide".

  • Even though her native language is Japanese, she streams mostly in English in order to practice and be "English perapera master." ("perapera" is an onomatopoeia for speaking fluently in a foreign language)
• Tenma is the winner of the first Phase Wars, a competition between the communities of each 1st generation Phase-Connect talent across multiple games.
• The first American movie she took as example to learn English was Die Hard.
• Her illustrator, Caprincot is also a VTuber.
