Toboso Kuroi, commonly known as Tob, is an independent English-language VTuber. She streams on Twitch.

Appearance

Tob is a skunk, except when she looks like a Minion. She is typically seen with random objects stuck to her head. She has black hair in braided pigtails and a pink streak and skunk ears with pink tufts and yellow hairpins with one having a star shape at the end and brown eyes. She wears a light brown beret with triangle, star and heart shaped pins around the bottom.

History

Background

Tob was initially inspired to become a VTuber by Kizuna Ai and Kaguya Luna.

Tob's Twitch channel was created on 22 October 2020. Her first Twitch stream was on 8 November 2020.

2020

Tob became Twitch affiliate on 19 November.

2021

On 19 May, Tob reached 1,000 Twitch followers.

Tob's YouTube channel was created on 25 May.

On 8 August 2021, Tob re-debuted with a skunk 3D model designed by Usami Kuroyu and modelled by ddmavis/kru8ty. Tob held a funeral for the old Tob, before revealing that she had merely faked her death to avoid the IRS after failing to pay taxes since at least 1987. She paid $700 for her new model.

On 1 October, Tob gained Twitch partner status.

On 1 November, Tob revealed a Live2D model designed and rigged by Kuratani Nana. The new model was well-received. "my oatmeal is warm but my heart is warmer"

2022

On 9 January, Tob reached 10,000 Twitch followers.

On 14 February, Tob updated her 2D model to have short hair, explaining that she had to have a haircut because she got gum in her hair. She also gained the ability to flip people off and T-pose in 3D.

On 4 April, Tob changed her Twitch username from "UNREALGRL" to "Tobs".

On 11 May, Tob was made YouTube partner.

On 6 June, Tob reached 20,000 Twitch followers.

On 24 June, Tob revealed her new costume. It features longer hair and a lilac cardigan and lilac socks with orange crocs.

On 30 June, Tob challenged Bird from Sigrid and Bird in a live streamed raw egg eating contest. Bird had previously eaten 12 on a raw egg challenge. Tob bought two 18-egg cartons for the event, and drank her eggs out of a Minions mug. Bird barfed attempting to eat a 13th egg, while Tob won after managing to keep down 17 eggs.

On 12 October, Tob was banned from Twitch for three days for displaying Goatse. The ban was commuted to one day.

On 16 November, Tob revealed a new, more rubbery Live2D model by Pumpiino. She continued to mostly use her main Live2D model.

On 26 November, Tob was forced to cancel her two year anniversary stream and new 3D model debut due to COVID. The event was rescheduled for 2 December.

2023

On 21 June, pre-orders opened for a limited edition Tob plush, fulfilled by Makeship. 525 would ultimately be sold.

On 25 June, Tob celebrated 50,000 followers on Twitch.

On 6 August, Tob began a subathon, celebrated her birthday, and released her new 2.0 model. She also finally ate the Big Mac which appeared in her stream background for 416 days, and which she frequently described as "on a hot plate" and "I'll eat it when I'm ready". A lore video explained Tob's new model as the result of a mutation caused by eating the Big Mac, which was cured by Four Loko, leaving her looking slightly different.

2024

On 6 August at 2 PM PST, Tob began a subathon. The announcement was delayed after Tob's car was totaled in a car crash. Although originally intended to run until 13 August, it ended on 9 August as Tob's voice was getting hoarse. Chat reached the sub goals to have Tob boil an alien baby doll in a big pot, throw 500 sticky hands on the ceiling and smash breakaway glass bottles over her head.

On 25 October, the Tobs gamersupps cup was released for preorder.

On 15 December, the fourth annual Tobs VRChat meet and greet was successfully held with 0 casualties.

On 19 December, Tob was announced as part of the upcoming VCard trading card game. She is Grass type and appears alongside her mascot Batsard Cat.

2025

On 16 May, it was announced that Tob joined Mythic Talent.

• Tob's fans are known as the "batsards."
  • In 2021, followers used to be greeted with the message "<username> is now apart of batsard squad". Since 2022 the follow notification says "<username> is now a BATSARD".
• Tob has a mascot character named Batsard Cat.
  • According to his VCard entry, Batsard Cat is six years old, 9 inches tall, and weighs 17 lbs.
  • Tob has released a plush of Batsard Cat through Youtooz.

Tob Facts

• Tob is a skunk.
• Tob doesn't have a stink sac. She had it removed after waking up in a tub of ice from a shady, albeit legitimate surgery. She was then allowed to keep it and sold it for "scientifical purposes". It only costed Tob $20 and 2 McChickens, which she thought was a good deal. Tob does not know if they took her kidneys.
• Tob's name, Toboso, was inspired by the character Aoya Toboso from the visual novel Dasaku.
• Her bizarre Twitch redeems include making Tob T-pose, having her tweet HiroHei a picture of baked beans, and hitting her on the head with a frying pan.
  • Tob's spin and tpose emotes come from redeems. Her original 3D model did not have many special features, so she would T-pose or rotate on demand.
• Tob uses "h" as a greeting because she is too lazy to type "hi".
  • This was referenced in her emote "tobsH". tobsH was deleted and replaced with tobsH20, but Twitch deleted that too.
• Tob has 7 bitche wives.
• Tob has been kicked out of a strip club for bottlenecking one of the girls.
• Tob only has one pair of ears, which are the pair on the top of her head. She does not have human-like ears on the sides of her head. Other VTubers who only have ears at the top of their head include Nekomata Okayu.
