Tokimori Aoi (時守あおい) is a independent female English-language Virtual YouTuber.

Aoi's first language is English, but she also speaks Japanese at a communicative level.

Personality[]

Aoi is kind to everyone she interacts with, from her viewers to other VTubers. She is always joyful and energetic whenever she is live. She is also modest most of the time, and tries to dodge sensitive topics and words. She rarely swears during streams; as of the 26th of April 2021, she has dropped an F-bomb on stream exactly twice.

Unlike her genmate Iku, she doesn't crack under pressure while singing.

She tends to make mistakes very often and takes her time in solving a problem. She prefers calm and slow games, like puzzle games and visual novels, but she also has a penchant for playing rhythm games. She is also often late for the streams, but her fanbase, the Timekeepers, are already used to it.

Her characteristic catchphrase is "Hi guys!". This happened because she overused the phrase so much in her first broadcast that many viewers pointed it out to her on her Twitter and it stayed that way ever since.[2]

Appearance[]

Aoi is a fennec foxgirl.[3] Her overall design is based on the theme of time. She wears on top a black cloak with a blue ribbon on her right side. Underneath that is a blue dress. She also wears blue tights and black boots.

She has light blue eyes. She has long very light greyish-blonde hair which ends at the hip area. Due to her being a fox girl, she has a pair of fox ears on the top of her head, alongside her normal human ears. Depending on her likeness, she can wear or take off her black hat with a golden clock in the middle and with a blue ribbon on it. Most of the time, she can be seen wearing her hat.

Just like the rest of the PRISM Project members, Tokimori Aoi is a special agent from the year 2120, which has been sent back to the past to prevent the threat of humans losing interest and passion for others.

She is a timekeeper, which means that her job is to watch over the flow of time.

Aoi has tweeted her first tweet on 13 January 2021.[4]

She unveiled her 2D model later that day.[5]

On 20 January, she posted her first post or Reddit, on the r/VirtualYoutubers subreddit.[6]

She revealed her voice on 25 January, in the Twitter post where she sang Melt.[7]

She debuted on 30 January 2021 on YouTube.[8]

2021[]

On 2 February, Aoi has streamed her first singing stream.[9]

On 3 February, she streamed her first video game stream on her channel, where she played Baba is You.[10]

On 1 March, Aoi announced her Acapella month that she will be posting short acapella clips on Twitter, every day, for the whole month.[11] At the end of March, she also held "#AoiAcapella LIVE CELEBRATION" to celebrate and mark the end of #AoiAcapella month on 3 April.[12]

On 20 March, she celebrated her channel's monetization with a singing stream.[13]

On 10 April, she released her first song cover on her YouTube channel, which was "KING" by Kanaria.

On 1 May, Aoi had her first collaboration cover song with Iku and Meno, the song "Mirai no Museum" by Perfume.

On 30 July, Aoi celebrated 6 months of being a VTuber and a member of PRISM Project's 1st Generation with Meno and Iku.

On 18 September, Aoi's YouTube channel had reached 15,000 subscribers.

2022[]

On 30 January, Aoi celebrated her one year anniversary.[14]

On 5 February, Aoi celebrated her birthday on her YouTube channel.[15]

On 13 February, Aoi released her first original song "The Sun" (お日さま).[16]

On 19 April she reached 20,000 subscribers on YouTube.[17]

On 24 April, she unlocked the Channel Membership feature.[18]

2023[]

On 31 January, Aoi reached 30,000 subscribers on YouTube.[19]

On 23 March, PRISM Project announced that all three members of its first generation would be getting new outfits.[20]

On 2 September, she debuted her LevelUp outfit.[21]

2024[]

Dissolving[]

On 2 March 2024, PRISM Project announced they would cease their activities at the end of the month, and let all remaining talents the chance to keep their character IPs.[22] Aoi confirmed she will become independent.

Events[]

  • For the third month anniversary of Generation 1 of PRISM Project, Aoi and her genmates, Iku and Meno, hosted the "PRISM no Museum" project. For this project, the PRISMers (fans of PRISM Project and its 'agents') could submit artwork of the PRISM 1st Generation with the theme of the PRISM Project logo so that their work could later appear in a "Mirai no Museum" cover music video.[23][24] The cover music video was released on 1 May 2021. It is also the first collaboration cover video, in which Aoi has participated.

  • Aoi calls her fanbase Timekeepers. Originally, in a poll to decide the name of her fan name, the joke option Bakamori won. However, she declined to use this name and choose to use the 2nd most popular option, claiming that she would feel bad calling her viewers bakas.[25]
  • Aoi's three tiers of memberships are "Munchie Meal," "Combo Meal," and "Deluxe Meal."

Trivia[]

  • Aoi's illustrator, Mikisai, is very proud of their VTuber. His affection toward Aoi can be seen in Aoi's chat during streams as Mikisai tends to visit her very often and on Twitter, where he frequently praise her. Aoi is Mikisai's only VTuber work so far.
  • Due to her tendencies to making mistakes, like miscalculating time zones and being often late for her streams, she earned herself the nickname Bakamori.
  • She has a tendency of forgetting what she is about to say.
  • She has a dog named Neo.
  • Her always joyful and energetic attitude makes it pretty easy for her to become a desirable person for other VTubers. For Aoi's affection compete for such vtubers as Hoshifuri Iku, Araka Luto and Nini Yuuna. She prefers Iku over anyone else.[26]
  • On the 22nd of April 2021, she debuted her new microphone, but due to technical issues, she sounded like a robot for the first few minutes of her stream.[27]
  • During her April Fool's Day stream she declared she is a cat and not a fox, and switched her catch phrase to 'Hi girls!' whenever people came in and greeted her.
