Toru Kuma (โทรุคุมะ/トルくま) is an independent Thai VTuber. He debuted on April 12, 2021. His concept is a sleepy bear.

Personality[]

Even though Toru seems to be sleepy, fluffy, shy, and innocent at first glance, he can also be naughty, chaotic, and a bit cheeky. But no matter how he appears to be, he is always caring and considerate. He also has an older twin brother and an older sister named Tora and Tori, respectively. (Basically, they are Toru's other personalities.)

Tora is calm, charming, and more mature than Toru. He speaks a little slower, and his voice is quite deep compared to Toru.

Tori has the same personality as Toru, but she is more mature. She also speaks faster than Toru, and her voice is relatively high-pitched. However, Tori is quite an aggressive person. (Toru said, “She is the QUEEN of his channel.")

Appearance[]

Toru has bright teal eyes and short black messy hair with a mini braid tied with a bear head clip at the end while Tora has bright red eyes, and Tori has pink eyes and long black hair.

He used to wear a white shirt, blue sweater, gray jacket with a bear face and black ears hoodie, brown trousers, and bear slippers in his old outfit.

In his current outfit, he wears a white beret hat with bear ears and a couple pins, white shirt with a black necktie, white sweater coat, blue suspenders, gradient shorts from blue to white, and white shoes. He also has a panda cross body bag.

He was a streamer before he was suggested to become a Vtuber by his staff.

Toru's YouTube channel was created on December 15, 2020, and his Twitter account was also created in the same month. His first tweet was made on March 1, 2021.

2021[]

On 1 March, Toru released his first clip on YouTube.

On 12 April, Toru debuted as a Vtuber, the sleepy bear, on YouTube.

On 30 July, Toru reached 1,000 subscribers on his YouTube account.

On 8 August, Toru reached 3,000 subscribers on his YouTube account.

On 21 August, Toru reached 5,000 subscribers on his YouTube account.

On 5 September, Toru made a Fan Name Tournament to vote for the best fan name by Toru's fans.

On 11 September, Toru opened memberships on his YouTube channel.

On 20 September, Toru reached 10,000 subscribers on his YouTube account.

On 18 February, Toru released his new model with his new outfit on YouTube.

On 14 March, Toru reached 20,000 subscribers on his YouTube account.

  • On 7 August, Toru was invited as a guest at Khaojao’s booth (วัดรวงข้าวสัญจร) in the V-Matsuri: Vtuber only event and appeared on the Meeting on Stage with Khaojao and Kyomu.
  • Toru participated as a contestant in the ต่อไปอะไรวะเนี่ย? (What's coming up next?) tournament, organized and held by Smongblurz. He ended up as the first runner-up of the A group. He got 50 THB and a box of instant noodles as the prizes.

2023[]

  • On 18 February, Toru teamed up with Khaojao and LuYao and participated in the dtto. APEX Custom hosted by dtto. as team 10. (However, they acted as if they were the "in-game" commentators. Lmao.)
  • On 29-30 July, Toru was invited to be a guest in the V-Meet by V-Festa x True5GPro Hub and appeared on V-Festa Stage with Taiyo Bouken.

2024[]

  • On 13-14 April, Toru was invited to be a guest in NEXus Cafe and Vtuber Meeting at NEXus Season Booth, participated in A13 Booth (เฮียรุจ้าว)'s activities, and appeared on Vtuber Stage in the V-fair: Summer Fest 2024.
  • On 10-11 August, Toru was invited to be a guest in the V-Meet 2024 by V-Festa x True 5G Pro Hub and appeared on V-Festa Stage at the event.

Mascot and Fans[]

  • Toru's fans are called กองกำลังปลาส้ม (kong-kam-lang-pla-som) which means 'Salmon Troops' because Toru loves salmon, so Toru's fans want to be what he loves to be the support power for him.
  • In his current outfit, he has a mascot named Taro. He is a sleepy polar bear perched on Toru's right shoulder.
