Nephasis, better known as Trickywi, or just Tricky, is a female English Vtuber. She has been on Twitch since 31 July 2017, but didn't make her 2D model debut until 23 July 2021. She is an Egyptian Harpy Dragon, and is best known for her meme, gaming, and horror video reactions. She was previously a YouTuber that focused on Pokémon related content, but is now completely a variety streamer.

She also operates a different character named Nouvelle

Profile[]

Tricky's current state is a consequence of her past, as she was once powerful enough to cause widespread destruction and shift the very time of day itself. Unlike her fellow harpy dragons, Tricky was born without an intrinsic element, which led to her being ostracized by her family and peers. Slowly, a bitterness began to grow in Tricky, a desperation that eventually led to her seeking out elements of her own. She was eventually tricked by a group of bandits to help them steal a cursed relic and, upon taking the relic for herself, gained power that was beyond her control. This power began to corrode at her mind and, paired with the further disapproval of those around her, drove her beyond sense.

With her powers now out of control, a battle was eventually waged against her. Tricky was defeated and left for dead, but her adoptive Grandmother faked her death and put her into a sleep that lasted many centuries. Upon waking up, Tricky lacked any memory of her past, but still felt drawn to a life of crime and piracy, much to the disapproval of her Grandmother. With her Grandmother's passing, Tricky felt an urge to reform herself, returning to Egypt with the goal of regaining her lost powers and forming meaningful relationships.

Personality[]

Nephasis is a mischievous harpy dragon who loved pranking others in the past, which earned her the nickname Tricky. Tricky is incredibly competitive, and won't put a task aside until she's fully satisfied with her performance. Though she will claim to be pure and seiso when threatened, she is often caught appreciating lewd content or jokes. Having lost the power she once held in the past, many things make her self conscious, such as her weaker, current beast form resembling a small house pet rather than a mighty harpy dragon. As a fellow ghost-wielding Egyptian, She absolutely loves Thief King Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh.

Appearance[]

Tricky has shoulder-length pink hair and orange-yellow eyes. Beneath her right and left eyes are twin hearts and a curled line resembling the Eye of Horus, respectively. She has black, feathered harpy ears and matching black wings. She also has a large black dragon tail covered in a combination of scales and feathers; Her fingernails are also black.

Bandages drape across her body, covering her chest (with an angry looking emoji graphic on them), pelvis, and wrapping down her leg towards her ankle. She has rainbow coloured tattoos snaking down her other leg and one of her arms; these tattoos have a crystalline texture. She wears a choker with an Ankh pendant, and an ankh also hangs from a bellybutton piercing.

She can embrace a more draconian appearance, growing scales on her forehead and shoulders, and horns on her head, among other things.

Background[]

Tricky's YouTube channel was originally created on 14 June 2012, and featured Pokemon content such as music, discussion videos, and top 10 lists; game playthroughs would soon join the list of content. It wasn't until 31 July 2017 that she began live streaming similar content on Twitch. Tricky began to grow tired of her usual content and identity, and decided that Vtubing could breathe new life into her passion. She eventually made her Vtuber debut on Twitch on 23 July 2021, posting the archive of this stream to her original YouTube channel.[1]

2021[]

On 3 August, Tricky released "Perish Song", the first original song released as a Vtuber. The lyrics and vocals were done by Tricky, and it was produced by YZYX. She later released a piano version on 20 August 2021 where all aspects of the song were self produced.

On 4 September, Tricky announced the unveiling of a new YouTube channel exclusively for clips taken from her Twitch channel. This channel's uploads will be edited and managed by Vetro.

2022[]

On 23 July, she debuted her new mummy model.[2]

On 13 August, Tricky began a subathon.[3] This subathon had many events throughout, like a 12 hour birthday special and her house being flooded by a water heater explosion.

2023[]

On 23 August, Tricky debuted her pharaoh model along with a lore video.[4]

2024[]

On 29 November, Tricky, alongside Sinder and Vienna, debuted her first original song as a member of Boss Rush on Sinder's channel.

Mascot and Fans[]

  • Tricky has 6 ghost familiars that stay with her: Cupid, Xiboo, Chillaboo, Spoodle, Diaboo, and Booba. They each have their own personalities. Diaboo has yet to be seen due to his alleged shyness, and Booba hides in Tricky's shirt; a fitting nickname.

  • Her favorite Pokémon is Sylveon, and she hates Jigglypuff. Sylveon was even her YouTube mascot for a long period of time.
  • Her piano playing is entirely self-taught.
  • Tricky's signature screeching is a trait of her Harpy Dragon lineage.
  • The Eye of Horus on her left eye because it symbolizes the eye of Thoth. This is a symbol of healing, protection, feminine energy, emotions, magic, and sexual energy in Egyptian mythology.
  • Tricky has a cat named Karma; Karma's favorite pastime is entering and exiting Tricky's room.
  • Tricky was once stung in the nether regions by a wasp. It crawled into her swimsuit when she put it out to dry, and she put it on while the wasp was still inside.
  • Thanks to Twitch, Lightning McQueen is canonically Tricky's nipples. One is bigger than the other.
