weepymiyu, also known as Miyu (美優), is an independent female VTuber who streams on Twitch. She is known for her shyness, gentle nature, positivity, creativity, poetry, and unique VTuber design. Since the reveal of her design in October 2024, Miyu’s numbers have risen rapidly, and she has carved out her own creative space within the VTuber industry, capturing the hearts of many fans with her vulnerable and relatable character.

Personality[]

Miyu is a shy weeping angel who quite literally "freezes up in fear," turning into a stone statue whenever she feels the weight of attention or embarrassment. Despite her quiet persona, Miyu has a silly, lewd side, often making jokes about Sisyphus carrying her "boulder booba" up the hill.

Miyu can be foolish and often needs time to process basic information or realize her own existence. However, she claims this may be because, in her stone form, her body is made of smooth, polished marble—including her brain.

Appearance[]

Miyu is a weeping angel girl, she has large permanent stone wings on her lower back with a large crack on her left wing and stone texture freckled on her wings and body. She wears a long white dress wrapped neatly in a sash, her sleeves are drooped and torn with holes. The bottom of her dress is dirtied from time and torn at the end revealing her black flip-flop sandals.

Her hair is grey with darker grey highlights at the bottom, her hair is kept tightly in a side braid with loose strands on her face and side. She has a large curved ahoge which resembles an angel halo. Her skin is pale and dull with a large crack running from her right check to her left eye. Miyu's eyes are pupil-less, coloured with a desaturated shade of red which blends into dusty pink.

Miyu's equipped with three worn down shields yet never seen with a weapon, suggesting she wishes to only protect and defend others.

2024[]

On 10 October, she teased her current design process.[1] Which later that day was fully revealed with a short introduction, reaching almost a million views at the end of October.[2]

On 19 December, she went live for the first time on her Twitch channel.

On 22 December, she went live for the second time to fix her mic quality and reached Twitch Affiliate on her second stream.[3]

On 29 December, she announced a smol chibi model debut.[4]

2025[]

On 1 January, Miyu announced her community has changed to an 18+ audience and created an NSFW art tag.[5]

On 2 January, Miyu debuted her smol chibi model.

On 1 February, Miyu reached over 20,000 X followers and 2,500 Twitch followers before streaming and her official debut.[6]

On 14 February, Miyu released her second merch drop for her upcoming debut.

On 16 February, Miyu announced her debut date.[7]

On 2 March, Miyu officially debuted.

On 2 September, Miyu debuted her 1.5 model.

  • Miyu designed her concept after daydreaming while listening to her favourite song.[9]
  • Miyu's main design inspirations were Angel of Grief 1894, Weeping Angels (Doctor Who), dark naturalism and symbolism aesthetic, herself and her struggles, likes, interests and hobbies giving her eldritch concept a unique twist.
  • Miyu explains her message behind her concept, "She is a hauntingly beautiful statue - guardian of those who are abandoned or left us, yet only so few people can see the beauty in her ... and I think I designed the concept quite well to show the beautiful side of things we may fear. Some things you fear aren't meant to scare you, they just want some love too. " showing her love for deep and emotional symbolism in art forms.[10]
  • She has a dog named Kobe who was featured wearing Kuromi onesies and hats.[11]
  • Miyu knows six languages due to her mixed Slavic and East Asian background along with travel when young.
  • She says she does not have an Instagram or Facebook and she plans to not expand onto those platforms in the future.
  • Miyu's spotted stone texture and cracks represent human freckles and scars.
  • Miyu reached Twitch Affiliate despite streaming only twice in the total span of 3.3 hours.
  • The kanji characters 美優 can mean, "beauty, gentle" which reflect her persona.
  • Miyu has an alter ego named Imyu, who resembles Miyu but has a more cracked and broken appearance, along with a bolder, yandere personality. As her alter ego and imposter in the lore, Imyu is intentionally named to sound like "I'm you."
  • Her ahoge can spin like a helicopter's rotor blade.[12]
  • Miyu's catchphrase, "blubublub" originated from a past community event in October 2024 and has developed to be her "Miyucopter's sound." which is paired with her fans favourite spinning ahoge toggle.[13]
  • As a shy weeping angel, Miyu says she feeds off love and acceptance. "I'm a sucker for praise, okay?"[14]
  • As a weeping angel, Miyu does not have a regular birthday, she celebrates her blubday on April 13th.
  • Miyu is shorter than previously stated, Miyu updates her fans her height is 4'11.[15]
  • When asked why she chose a weeping angel as her final concept, Miyu explains it relates to her social anxiety and mental health.[16] Miyu also mentions she hopes her design can be relatable and a symbol of hope for fans who also struggle with social anxiety.[17]
