Yumeoi Kakeru (夢追翔) is a male Japanese Virtual YouTuber affiliated with NIJISANJI. Previously, he was a member of NIJISANJI SEEDs' second generation's third batch alongside Naruse Naru, Belmond Banderas, Yaguruma Rine, and Kuroi Shiba.

A 32-year-old singer-songwriter who loves to compose music and sing. His dream is for people from all around the world to listen to his songs.[1]

Personality[]

Kakeru has a very loud and cheerful personality but there's times where he would the opposite. To his fans, Kakeru's true laughter is scary or gives the impression of bad intentions. This was probably influenced by his Forest collaboration with Kagami Hayato, where he was deemed murderous. He likes teasing his co-workers and is a very social person, making him a good candidate for being MC for events.

Appearance[]

He has short, black hair with red eyes. He has blue bands as a "tattoo" on his upper arms with a multi-heart pattern between the top two bands.

Kakeru made his YouTube debut on 25 September 2018 with an original song and MV called "死にたくないから生きている" (I'm Alive Because I Don't Want to Die).

2018[]

On 13 December, Ichikara Inc. announced that NIJISANJI Gamers and NIJISANJI SEEDs would merge with NIJISANJI by the end of the month.[2] As a result, Kakeru is now officially affiliated with NIJISANJI.

2019[]

On 13 January, Kakeru reached 10,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[3]

On 24 February, Kakeru reached 20,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[4]

On 9 April, Kakeru reached 30,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[5]

On 23 May, Kakeru reached 40,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[6]

On 14 July, Kakeru reached 50,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[7]

On 24 August, Kakeru reached 60,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[8]

On 8 April, Kakeru reached 150,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[13]

On 3 July, Ichikara Inc. announced that Kakeru will be going on indefinite hiatus.[14] Refer to this Tweet for a fan translation of the statement, as well as context information on the controversy.[15] He returned to regular streaming on 1 August 2020 following an apology video.

On 27 September, Kakeru reached 200,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[16]

On 2 October, it was announced that Kakeru would receive his 3D debut. It was held on 9 October 2020.

2021[]

On 23 April, Kakeru announced that his debut song "死にたくないから生きている" would be renewed, by singing it again and using his 3D model. The reason for this renewal would be because the song would be published on streaming websites.

On 27 June, it was announced that NIJISANJI would be accepting reservations for Kakeru's 1st album called "絵空事への入り口" (The Entrance to the Empty Dream). It contains songs from 死にたくないから生きている (Dying To Live) until 青空を睨む(Gaze into the sky).

On 28 July, Kakeru reached 250,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[17]

2022[]

On 18 April, Kakeru reached 280,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[18]

On 18 May, Kakeru released his original song that he wrote himself entitled "Inochi ni Kachi wa naino dakara" (命に価値はないのだから, Life is worthless).

2023[]

On 17 January, Kakeru reached 300,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[19]

2024[]

On 16 January, Kakeru's first fan club meeting, "Yumeo's Dream Festival" (ゆめおの夢まつり, Yumeo no Yumematsuri) was announced.[20]

On 3 March, Kakeru's first fan club meeting, "Yumeo's Dream Festival" (ゆめおの夢まつり, Yumeo no Yumematsuri) was held and streamed online.[21]

On 28 June, Kakeru teased his 1st Story Album "The City Lost Music" on his YouTube channel. The album includes songs sung by fellow livers Suo Sango, Shellin Burgundy, Sukoya Kana, Genzuki Tojiro, Suzuki Masaru, and Lize Helestia.[22]

On 5 July, Kakeru released "Sora ni egaita Koufukuron" (空に描いた幸福論, A Theory of Happiness Painted in the Sky) sung by Aria (voiced by Suo Sango).[23]

On 12 July, Kakeru released "Attention Note" (アテンションノート) sung by Casanova (voiced by Shellin Burgundy).[24]

On 19 July, Kakeru released "Saikou Saibansho" (最テイ裁判所, Supreme Court) sung by Fenimi (voiced by Sukoya Kana).[25]

On 26 July, Kakeru released "Seihitsunaru Kyoshoku Rakuen" (静謐なる虚飾楽園, A Tranquil Vanity Paradise) sung by Amadeus (voiced by Yumeoi Kakeru).[26]

On 26 July, Kakeru released his 1st Story Album, "Ongaku ga kieta machi" (音楽が消えた街, The City Lost Music) on various platforms.[27]

  • He shares his character designer with Shibuya Hajime, Fushimi Gaku, Kenmochi Toya, Elu, Sister Claire, Todoroki Kyoko, and Amemori Sayo.
  • His name is a pun on the phrase "yume wo oikakeru" (夢を追いかける), meaning "to chase (your) dreams".
    • Kakeru always uses this expression whenever he introduces himself.
  • Although the mark on his left arm looks like a tattoo, Kakeru revealed it is actually body paint.[33]
  • Due to his talent for speaking and moderating, Kakeru often is the MC for larger-scale collaborations, competitions, and interviews within NIJISANJI.
  • It is stated on his corporate profile that he doesn't know how to play instruments but he is good at writing and singing.
  • Kakeru made an English cover of Glamorous Sky. Kakeru never mentioned about learning English before.
  • Kakeru has done a collaboration with English Central where he shows off it's mechanics while learning how to speak English.
  • Kakeru doesn't play horror games, the only time he played them was during his 28th birthday stream. The games he played were Pien, The Convenience Store, Go Home and Ib.
  • Kakeru's 50k outfit was made by Ryushen. (A translated clip).
  • During his 1st and 2nd outfit reveal, he would have a short acting moment where he would be taken away then the screen would go black. After a few seconds, the screen would reveal that the outfit has no sleeves.
    • This short acting moment stopped ever since his 2nd anniversary outfit. Making Kakeru have 4 outfits where he would have sleeves but 2 of them could be sleeveless.
  • His laughter was deemed as evil or scary by his fans during a zatsudan stream and by Yuzuki Roa when he was teasing her.
  • During his 1st playthrough of Kuukiyomi, he was called normal and so he couldn't accept that so he did another playthrough and tried to be as chaotic as possible but in the end, he was still called normal.
    • During his playthrough, he did an impression of his senpai, Fushimi Gaku. This was because the game had a peace sign.
  • Kakeru had to act out a script Tamaki Inuyama made as a punishment for losing a game of Momotaro Dentetsu.
  • During his feature in Lever Gacha Daipan, he was roasted by Sasaki Saku.
    • Sasaki called Kakeru a liar because he claimed "seaweed mixed rice" was his favorite food, but he said that it didn't taste the same compared to when he was younger.
    • Sasaki called Kakeru a spoiled brat because he begged his parents to get him Pokemon Red.
    • Sasaki didn't believe his statement when he said his thoughts about the game.
    • Kakeru admitted that he was a spoiled brat when he was younger to which Sasaki replied with "I want you to disappear".
