Yusya-ism (lit. Heroism, Japanese stylized: 勇者ズム!) was a Virtual YouTuber group that started its activities in August 2018.[1]

The group published an announcement in October 2019, saying that that Yusya-ism would be disbanded at the end of the same year.[2]

Backstory[]

The background story behind these virtual youtubers are that they are heroes from another world.

Translated from the Yusya-ism official website

[Ladies and gentlemen, after we defeat the Demon King. Let's cheer up the Japanese people!]
A group of heroes defeated the Demon King's army in Anastowel, another world. Since they have defeated the Demon King, they want to live a slow life, but they are treated as heroes wherever they go, so they are not comfortable with their lives. The heroes decide to spend a long vacation in another world, thinking that it would be better if they were in a place where they didn't know themselves.
After being transferred to another world, the heroes arrived in Japan. They started to live a free life, going to high school and working part-time. However, unlike Anastowel, they noticed that the people of Japan, whose civilization had developed so much, were not in good spirits. It's not like they're being ruled by a demon king, but most people's eyes are dead.
The heroes who can't overlook this are trying to cheer up the Japanese people as much as possible. They decided to start a VTuber career!

By the end of 2019, Ayase Marie, Kotone Mia, Amanogawa Risa, Arisumi Sybille and Himekawa Serina retired. The only member that remained active was Hajime Lise. Even after the group's breakup, Lise would invite the other members for a bonus video every once in a while. She retired as well on 31 August, 2020, returning to Anastowell and marking the official end of the group. The accounts of the 6 members were also purged or deleted after her retirement on the same date. The group's last collaboration was on 23 August, 2020, in which Lise, Sybille, and Serina chatted and answered fan questions. Though Lise had originally planned to retire at the end of 2019 too, she continued until her 1st anniversary in July 2020, before extending it to the next month. She stated the reason for the extension was so that she wouldn't feel regret towards any unfinished work, and while she did have a few, she was also grateful for all of the support and memories.
